The reality is that information is so accessible in general - corporate registries, professional directories, publications, Facebook, etc. Anyone who interacts with the public - from UA-camrs to teachers - faces these risks. That said, I’m going to delete my watch history. People might think it’s weird I watch so many videos on mango-worm extractions from Gambian canines!
Great video Ian. Privacy has always been a pertinent concern for me. I spend extra time in each video scrubbing through footage to make sure everything is blocked out that needs to be blocked out. One mistake I've made, which is kinda funny today, is that I used to post my UPS mailing box address in the description of my videos and about pages. One day, I get a phone call from the UPS store saying I have 15 pizza. Unfortunately, the idiot who called in the pizzas didn't pay for them in advance, and the pizza place had to take them back. For a minute, I got nervous because I felt like I had a stalker. But then I came to the realization that is all they had. I bet ya, the local Dominos now has that as a blocked address. BTW: I'm surprised you didn't talk about filters. I put my parts of my phone number, addresses, and other private information into my youtube blocked words. Just in case someone has the info, they can't post it or put it into your live stream. Unfortunately, it doesn't work if you're on other peoples streams.

When I call someone this way, it just shows up on their end as “unkown”. I also use a PO Box for people to send me mail. Any vids showing my kids, I blur their faces with the blu tool. @@iancorzine just because people dont talk about this topic openly on youtube doesnt mean its not popular; if you head over to r/youtube subreddit you can see many people discussing this same dynamic; what if a company is being sold off and a youtube channel is part of it and so as an asset can that youtube channel be legally sold and if for example the said buyer buys it ; and the seller some how claims that the account has been hacked and reclaims the channel then what can the buyer do to protect his rights (this is where i am confused the buyer protection from youtube in this company's asset case); so many different scenarios here and here is where your expertise lie ofcourse if its not in demand according to the data you do research on then please let it be ; thank you though for adding it to your list.

I was very surprised to hear that you were moderating on a Flat Earth video, and I wanted to bring up this whole issue of UA-cam "censorship" that has come into effect recently. I am not a Flat Earther, but i manage a few different channels, one of which deals with interpretations from the Book of Revelation and comparing it with things happening today. Well, that channel was "marked" by UA-cam somehow, and as of January 25, they have pretty much stopped showing videos to non-subscribers. We had over 45 thousand subscribers up till then, and we were getting thousands of views a day. Then all of a sudden, we only got like a hundred or so views a day, mostly from subscribers, and we no longer get any new subscribers, due to YT no longer showing content to others. It is very sad for us, a lot of work went into that channel. We do not consider ourselves "conspiracy theorists" at all, since we mostly deal with spiritual issues, but because we are talking about the "end times" we assume this is now a no-no on UA-cam. So our channel growth has been effectively destroyed. We are guessing, however, that there is nothing we can do about. I just wanted to know if you have any thoughts that might be helpful on this issue.
Unfortunately the powers that be decide who and what violates the "community standards" regardless of what people want to see. I believe this is just the beginning of censorship on the internet.Thanks for watching!! Let me know if you have any more thoughts. 👊😢

I have the opposite... People are doing false privacy claims and youtube just goes with my trolls... They block and delete my videos... with no feedback at all from youtube's side... Just based on the patreon names that appear on screen.... not even full name, no further identifyable content, just a partial name...
This is a big problem that YT is facing right now. I find it interesting that YT does not take the time to verify the claim that is being made. AND like you said, it is mainly trolls that are causing the problems. I have heard from some of my subscribers that appealed to YT, and YT actually reversed the claim and banned the "troll".
