  • Force Pro 21 vs. SH PT21A0-XBG video 1, parts comparison.
    Note: I say that the cutouts at the bottom of the SH sleeve are for the rod at high rpm, don't know what I was talking about there. They are for clearance at all speeds, because the engine is an extra long stroke.

    Just found your channel as I'm thinking about grabbing a nitro for racing and then saw you running at LP and that made it even better... Super cool channel and a great resource for someone thinking about going Nitro!

    Very awesome video. The piston on the force is beautiful. It looks like it was full CNC while the sh piston is definitely cast aluminum, the round edges of the wrist pin retainers on the underside of the piston give away the fact its aluminum cast. SH really are doing a lot lately with crosshatch and oil grooves all over the sleeves and piston. I have a few lrp and sh big bore engines with deep oil grooves cut in the sleeves and the pistons. They all run nice its just a consistency ive noticed lately with SH.
    Love you videos Todd!

    very interesting. the ports of the 2stroke are like cam lobes of a 4 stroke

    To me, and I’m no expert, but that force pistons beauty has me sold. Just screams longer life but what do I know. Great video.

    The piston and rod design of the SH are far superior to the Force. The pattern on the piston is to retain oils and prevent galling, the Rod is lightened where it won't weaken it.

      @NitroTalkwithTodd  Рік тому +1

      I hear what you are saying, you could also argue that the SH rod is lighter and therefore would help the engine spool up faster. Giving that point to SH wouldn't change the outcome, and I prefer a meatier rod. But again, you make a valid point.

    At the end of the day one large hole will flow more air but at a lower velocity than two small holes from a fluid dynamics stance. It looks like SH did a lot more work when it comes to a lighter rotating assembly. Keep in mind that if your piston and con rod are lighter they don’t need to be as beefy. In turn you’d also get more snap to your throttle response.

    What would be a decent engine for the losi rtr buggy? I'm looking for something with a bit more speed than the stock it comes with that's not highly expensive thank you great stuff!

    They probably used Scotch bright after the machined the force block it makes it look clean at the shop I work at it has a machine shop and they hit it with scotch bright after the last pass while it's moving and some times a little polish depending on what it is but it cleans up real nice and fast it's perty cool it's a good why to make your work look clean as a machineist

    Great video u did forget one Inportant detail that's the cooling heads I was waiting for it just didn't happen I no the sh pt head has the cut out to run larger headers I have no idea if the force does ND of course with one looks better with is taller important info to me anyways

    I agree with you, nova quality is shit compared to other engines. I think they rushed into production which is why all these issues everyone is having are being shown. I will stay with os and os based engines

    What would you recommend for a proper shim stack range or a common range that will work well on most engines? .5-.8mm?

    • @NitroTalkwithTodd
      @NitroTalkwithTodd  Рік тому

      I have a video specifically on head shimming/measuring head clearance. The rule of thumb I was taught for head clearance was 5-6-7.
      .5mm clearance for 20% fuel, .6 for 25%, .7 for 30%. The shim stack to achieve that clearance can vary. A lot of novarossi's have a .7mm stack, but most other engines tend to have a shorter stack, usually .3-.5mm
      And that's for big blocks.

    The one with the slug is the force crank look it has the starter spring in it the sh doesn't use the spring and pin set up on there crank the score has changed 🤔👌👍✌️💯😇

    🤷‍♂️why I love my force moters but long time ago when my tmaxx was my favorite toy lol I had a chance with the .15’s & .12’s to see what & how cv,cvr & a force .12 that ruled the roost as far as I could tell & these were all $100 engines at the time so not high end race moters just bathers but that force .12 beat out anything from the cvr to the traxxas 3.3 & outlasted all so that’s y I have a soft spot for force lol ever scince but have scince kinda back off nitro but I’m lookin to get back into it cause I found a force .21 on Amazon for $58 like how can u beat that a .21 for dirt cheep I can’t wait to get it I did the electric thing & it’s convenient but I miss the smell and sound of nitro I got an airboat I’ve had for 30 some odd years & my snowcat that runs like a top that’s prob 35-40 yrs old I don’t run it every year but I try to keep it up and running every other year & the dumas big swamp buggy has a .90 on it I can run that anytime on any surface but water is best snow is fun wet grass is a blast to but seeing this vid sealed it can’t wait to get that force .21 might even port it a bit no idea how many port moter it is but $58 who cares rite can’t b bad🤷‍♂️ great vid subbed & liked can’t wait to watch more👍

    At what point, once no more mechanical pinch would you consider the engine on its way out.
    Or should you give it a pinch once the motor has zero mechanical pinch
    My AD2 fkn screams more than my xzb v2

    I stand by my word that sh stand’s for shit heap and force are a cheap but brilliant copy of the finest Japanese engines and typically the force has some flaws but nothing on sh from their weak crank and small head bolts compared with a force! And as for highest rpm engines I have a hand balance and ported pro 21 track star same as force and it sits on 47k all day on 25% and I have a ported picco mega that will top 48-49k and a Rex that’s happy at 42000 but they are all gutless compared with a 29000 rpm thunder tiger pro 28 and a big pinion gear

    So you have two European engines made in either Germany or "Australia"? Interesting, I 'll have redraw my Atlas map now.
