Traxxas UDR Quick Trail Run!

►I took the new Traxxas Ultimate Desert Racer for a quick run on the trails to get a good idea of what this truck is capable of. This truck is definitely a handful, and to do a proper running vid, I'll need a helper to handle the driving duties! I'll report back with my findings in an upcoming video, but initially I'm impressed. It definitely has it's plusses, and a few minor minuses. Stay tuned!

I shoot all my videos on the Sony a6500 in 4K, with Sigma 16mm, 19mm & 30mm f1.4 lenses and the Zhiyun Crane V2. This video also used the DJI Osmo and GoPro Session. - Навчання та стиль

anticipating the review! But pretty sure that most of the minor issues are just that. Think most that are having problems are trying to run it like a SCT. But the best one yet, seen someone complain that it didn't crawl very well.

Can you do a side-by-side comparison of 10th scale Yeti or Slash to the UDR? Curious just how much bigger it is. Also interested in how it compares to the Yeti XL.
In my follow-up review I will certainly do so.
also want the super rock rey but all 3 hobby shops near me have a few and dont want me to buy it saying its breaking to easy in areas like the transmission gears and have issues getting parts in a timely order.

I highly recommend this camera. Battery life in 4K is not great, but gets the job done. I also have a plug-in adapter for studio shoots.

The video is great. However I would like to hear Thoughts on the gear reduction rear axle? I had a slash for a while and was very disappointed in the transmission and axle durability i wanted one of these udrs till i saw the rear axle set up. When i first saw it I felt like well theres a band-aid for something...imho..... maybe over heating issues or parts durability. They say its to stop torque twist/steer but i feel like that isnt quite right as it should create more torque. Such as the rear axle in a 50 ton dump truck would....
It's not a band-aid, it's a well thought out solution. Everything seems to be holding up thus far.
Scale Builder's Guild. Good to know this just may have changed my mind on the udr from the looks of the video it def holds up. I probably wouldnt 5th scale power it and expect it to live. As i regretted putting 1/8rh power in the 1/10th slash as it was more fun to drive brushed with a 20t motor and up geared a touch then with a 2650 kv brushless on 3s. On 2s it was fun but still just a little too much and it ruined the drive ability
cool vid, ridiculous when u see people thinking this truck is made to take 15 foot jumps.... stick to 1/8 truggy and monster trucks for that crazy stuff.

I think I remember you mentioning that you are using an adapter for the batteries on this. How was the run time for it? Was it noticably shorter?
Adapter made no difference. Plenty of run time, no noticeable issues.

Did you go with 4s or 6s? I think I'll stick to 4. This thing looks nutty on 6.
same here, I am sticking to 4 for all but flat out open terrain, read that as beach or desert sand. Big Squid RC basically came to the same conclusion, it gets a bit too fast but fun with 6s. This ain't no SCT its built for the same kind of running as Baja and Mint. Trophy Trucks.
This was 6S, but a slow 6S. Running behind it, I had to be easy on the throttle. At full brap, it's insanity.
That's a good plan. 6S where I was running was overkill. Never more than a third of the throttle.
The Scenes from 0:26-0:42 you do with the Osmo? Really like the Video. I´m struggling doing Videos of fast cars.
It was pretty much all Osmo. And a lot of running. ;)
