I bought this a few weeks back in anticipation of this year's hunt. Used it already to break down some lamb. Definitely my favourite fixed blade. Folks, you won't be disappointed!!
Love this knife. The build quality and fit and finish is first rate. It fits my hand perfect and is about the ideal size. Cannot find any faults at all. Totally recommend this knife.

I own a B40. The B41 seems improved, improved handle profile, larger 'striker' area at the end if the tang and a better leather sheath.
But I think I'll stick with my B40. The sheath doesn't help me; being left handed I use a sheath designed for Brisa's Nessmuk.
Since I can also strike the ferro rod and scrape fatwood with my saw....
Thanks for all these lionsteel fixed blade videos. They've been super helpful for me. I'm currently torn between the b35/m4/b41 and struggling to make a decision. Would be nice to get that m4 vs b41 video you mentioned here!
I have many knives, mostly US made. But Lionsteel B35 is probably the only knife, next to Roselli Large Leuku that is "calling" me.
@@airpaprika Its an excellent knife if you are a more practical person than most of the survivalst types on youtube, pair it with a saw or even better with an axe and you are good to go.

I bought it, and imediately was dissapointed with edge performance. Too thick, like 50-60 degree edge, wont bite wood like my other knives. (supposed to be bushcraf knfe?) I reprofiled the edge to 40 degres, now it is completely different knife! I love it so much now!

@@PotatoCheese i gave it to an Italian friend because the knife is made in Italy. Beautiful knife. Only thing I dislike is the sheath but that’s personal. To light no drainage hole and it looks more like a collector sheath not a user sheath. The first day the stitches already came loose.
Lionsteel make super high quality knives. They're as good, if not better than a lot of the more famous brands like fallkniven, esee, tops etc. But they're most often much cheaper than any of those brands. In terms of value for money they just can't be beat.
Still use my Beavercraft bsh1 love it more than this one , been using it for over 3 years now and still perfect And it was a third of the price My buddy has this one here and I just don't care for it , blade just doesn't hold an edge and the spine can't throw a spark and using the back lanyard loop is just too risky for throwing sparks in the back country. I still highly recommend that when batoning after your first strike flipping around the knife and resting the log on another and then battonting the log through the knife edge , not the way everyone seems to do it in the " mainstream bushcraft video's "

@@jordy703 well, it is a hard one to have a funcional drainage hole on a leather case since the leather itself absorbs water&moisture....I guess
@@prredo in my country it rains lot so its only for excessive water. Sure kydex is easy but i like traditional leather sheaths. So a drainage hole is nice. A lot of leather sheaths have drainage holes so its nothing strange.
And good leather with a great finish doesnt absorb leather.
@@jordy703 I prefer leather sheaths too. I don’t like plastic at all. I can’t stand even G-10 handles. Leather, steel and wood #only
Kevin I am looking to purchase a fixed blade knife that is not very large but can handle batoning, shaving for firewood, carving sticks and has a decent tip capable of prying, can you recommend please?
The M4 or B35 shown in this video would work well for all but prying, I have reviewed the Fallkniven F1x which is more capable of prying and still cuts.

just to err on the side of caution I think I would use the method of holding the knife still and moving the ferro rod
I saw a video in which Lionsteel recommends you use a ferro rod with the knife in the sheath.

I wish Lionsteel would use better steel. For a company with "steel" in its name, they use a lot of mediocre steel. Niolox and Sleipner aren't really good choices. The knives look otherwise fantastic, I just can't bring myself to seriously consider them until they get better steel. Imagine a T5 in CPM 3V. Or an M5 in Magnacut. Or these B4s in S35VN. For an outdoor knife, I want something tough, that can take abuse. The T6 in 3V looks great, but I really prefer 4 to 5 inches of blade because like you, I carry a tomahawk or folding saw for the bigger jobs.
