  • In this video, I model a simple drone using Plasticity in a speed art format, with narration explaining each step of the process. Watch as I take you through my workflow, utilizing Plasticity's powerful CAD tools to quickly and efficiently create this hard surface model. It should be a good video for beginners or anyone considering utilising Plasticity within their project pipelines.

Good advice. Experimenting is at the heart of creativity.

Thanks a lot! It's something I try to embed within my own practice, and as you've seen ,encourage others. I even think it's sometimes a better approach to learning new software as it enables the user to push the boundaries of it and their personal requirements.

Powerful filleting features. Looks as powerful to what we see with Parasolid 3D tools Rhino 3D should capitalize on that .

I've heard positive things about Rhino but have never used it myself.

In my opinion, one of the best features of Plasticity is its snapping capabilities. I have never used another application that is so intuitive and powerful. No matter what I want to snap to, it almost literally reads my mind and provides guilds lines for quickly snapping to the appropriate object or angle.

I totally agree-Plasticity’s snapping is next-level. I've been able to take full advantage of it to create cuts perfectly aligned to surface angles, which saves so much time and keeps everything precise. It's like having an assistant anticipating exactly where I want things to line up. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!

Is there a snap function short cut ?

    • @digitalste811

For Object Snaps you can temporally enable it by holding the Ctrl Key and for curves you can Temporally turn off using the same key! hope that helps :)

@@shokk1967 Also, you can show construction lines and snap to them by going over whatever you want to align with and hitting the shift key twice. it will draw construction lines that help you align to that point, edge, etc. and you can snap to those construction lines. It's quite amazing!

Interesting design! Did you know you can have some form of materials in plasticity? If you right click the "Render View" it will bring up some matcaps, if you click the bottom left one its like a material matcap, to add a material simplily select which mesh you want and press M. frankly it might not be the same as fusion but it nice to add some colour.

Hey, thanks for that! I'll check the materials out soon, I know there are also different performance settings for the viewport rendering as well, so I might try combining that with some materials to see what I get! :)

This one is paid, it currently cost $149 USD for the indie licence, I think there a student discounted version as well.
