@@gmbn I did a week there when I was 17 on my atx 2 with the legend Nigel Page. Rode 10% with a blown lever seal on my front brake managed to hold on and made it out the other side!!!!
Biggest DH day, 80km and -11,000m at Superbagneres de Luchon in the Pyrenees, same 1250m cable car each time, but different track down each time, 4 official DH tracks, 2 red and 2 black, pirate -35% single tracks for the rest. I even got a KOM. Not bad for a 50 year old. I was at Andorra last weekend, -7500m a day, thats just average for me 😅 not bad for 53 😉 I do live in the Pyrenees and race the megavalanche though 😁
Glad Neil and that other guy who cut in on ten percent didn't crash. Some epic jump shots and footage. Nick the cameraman, absolute legend getting the action.
This footage was brilliant thank you! Your so lucky you weren't wiped out that could have been disaster epic save well done! Oh that view from the chair lift was amazing. 😎
Thanks for making this happen🎉 Fantastic production values only possible with cooperation of a lot of people, so a big shout out to you all, including the sponsors 😊 Neil, you obviously had the best time - I imagine you all did, although there must have been a fair amount of chasing around by your crew ready to catch you as you both zipped by. The nutter who joined back to 10% after preseumably bailing half way down will get his comeuppance and suitable mortification thanks to the views you’ll be getting for this one. More please 😊
Love that type of content I'm listening to while preparing for a ride, I'll re-watch this evening on the TV, that's a compliment since not a lot of YT vids are worth watching on the TV. 👌🤘
Last year I saw your video with blake in Morzine. And we booked our summer in mozine, avoriaz and les gets bikepark. Just got back home last week. Me and my son 7yrs old love the green/blue line in morzine-avoriaz bikepark. Hope to see more this kind of content! 🔥🔥🔥
That was ace to watch. The Delemere MTB club and I did a similar ride in Morzine at the end of June, we managed to ride from Morzine, via Avoriaz to the top of Pointe Des Mossettes (for one hell of a view), then down to Les Croset. 10682ft of descending, and 32 miles on a DH bike was truly amazing. What a place to ride!
Blimey. Finally an non condescending GMBN video. Normally it's this is how you should put your socks on in the morning. I really enjoyed this video. Shame you don't get out there mie Niel.
My biggest day out was coincidentally a week ago; 4,811m of descent from Morzine to Châtel and back. The perfect end to an awesome week with mates 😎 Kudos to Nick too, as i wasn't on a DH bike either and some of those braking bumps are real killers!
The ONE place to LIVE and NEVER get tired of the runs 😁GREAT JOB on this Production NICK! GARMIN is the WAY TO GO on a mountain! Neil your NEW BIKE is SUPER SICK! So Jealous Cheers 🍻
More DH bikes and parks please! This will get a rewatch. #ASKGMBN Would love to see a video on how to set up a rental DH bike that has a coil shock for uplift parks.
Great video was planning on going in June but broken my collar bone so had too miss out been a few months now and getting back on the bike again hopefully can get too morzine next year.
That dude nearly killed a legend! Well done Neil for getting around him. Ive done 10% a couple of times back in the day (when it was smoother to be fair) and i wouldn't want to have to make that kind of manoeuvre even then.
How pedalable is the sender. I'm torn between this and the torque but don't have the luxury of lifts back to the top. I appreciate it's not going to be very good pedalling it but is it just a complete no go or will it do to get me back up a trail. If it matters I'm leaning mullet in both
If you need to pedal, go for some freeride rig (Torque, Propain Spindrift (can be 190/180) etc...) and has normal drivetrain. Pedalling up on DH is nightmare :)
Agreed with the other commenters if we're honest! The Sender is awesome, but it won't pedal like the Torque. If you have to do some climbing but love the descents it's worth going for something burly like the Torque :)
Nice, am off to Morzine next week, I have some big days planned, will defo give this a blast. I have had some massive days on the bike, The Brazilian (Col Du Cou) was epic, two runs down EN1 in Alpe D'Huez, then a load of other enduro trails there, KAW in one hit, SDW in one hit, and wrong bike The Fred...
@Neil It can't be that your gopro footage is worse than mine mate, you're on 10 and I'm still using 7 black. Check settigns and talk to the guys doing post production, it's shame to have this quality of footage of such an awesome place.
@Coolcmsc at no point I have said I've footage of this place. I have compared footage quality. Instead of rushing to reply and trying to be smart and cheeky, read few times until grey cells do something useful mate.
I have a question about recording your ride on your Garmin. Did you just leave it recording all day including the lifts or did you stop it every time you finished the descents? I’ve found that mine can’t differentiate between when I’m riding and not riding so I have to stop it for every uplift. Or is there a setting for uplift riding?
Hey Jono, there's lots of great bike shops with solid hire bikes out there! Just remember to ask to swap the brake lines around if you don't ride Euro brakes 😉 Bringing your own is relatively simple too! You can normally exchange cookies or coffee or a small fee for a bike box from a shop or buy a super protective airplane travel bag if you're going to do lots of trips. Companies like Atlas who we got our guide from offer airport transfers and such to make things even easier
@@stu.c hi Stu, thanks for the info mate. Yeah that's an amazing price to be fair. Last time I went to Austria in 2018 it was €22 for the day for 1 lift up 1 mountain!!! 👍Cheers

Definitely more content like this.
Glad you liked it!
This is the happiest I've seen, Neil in a video in a while!!!
@@ish474 he’s probably happy to be back on a downhill bike😀

Damn this video was great fun to watch . Great workGMBN guys , tho I would love to hav a go , but no DH bike yet

Really interesting vid. Great vid

This is such a cool idea 😮
Hard to do on a busy lift day. Was there around the same time and had loads of queues, yet the week before in Alpe d'Huez didn't have to wait once
Awesome video!
New career choice... MTB Guide at this location!!!

@@matwetton i mean it works to pedal the sender, but you have to do it staning up and a 50m vert climb feels the same as 200m vert on e 180mm enduro
Do like Popeye, eat spinach before climbing a hill. Don't worry which kind of bikes as long as you have spinach 😂
Go with the torque. At least you have the option to petal and you can put a dh fork on it

Great content 🤙🏾
If you could give some sort of cost break down and some information on the guiding next time that would be great.
Cheers 🤙🏾
Check out the Atlas Rides site for some options :)
Just been there for 2 weeks. Got back home and booked again to get there before they shut the lifts on 15/9
France is so beautiful so CH too
Great place Swiss France mtb park and you need a watch to tell you how much fun you had 😂 I hope I never need one😅

Cool vid! That garmin will be toast in a decent crash...
Neil had about 5 very large crashes in his Garmin Fenix 3 and that's still going at about 6 years old! These new ones are even tougher.
It wouldve been cool to have a counter in the courner vs Neils record descent/climb
For some reason I feel like I need to buy a Garmin watch.

Thanks

If you want max vertical descent in a day you need to go to a resort with faster lifts and higher mountains (and no queues) like L2A or Tignes.
Both good shouts for maximising daily vertical!
I’m curious as to what those braces were that Niel was wearing? For Injury or prevention?
Some wrist braces to support an older injury :)
Hi Neil, how much would that day cost on ski lifts? Or do you buy 1 pass that gives you access to all the lifts?
It's just 1 pass to access everything in the area :)
Current price is from just €37 for one day, covering the entire Portes du Soleil lift system! It's amazing value...

Is it just me or is the video from the ride low quality? Seems like it should be much more crisp. Either way great content!
Best place ever and only in fullHD 😢
I believe you’re using chest HR sensor because you can’t get these metrics through watches on clothes.
He was just wearing the watch for this ride.
@@nickpphotographyuk3068I know. But he does have HR metrics at the end. So I was just wondering.
It's called 10% because 10% of the people who ride it cause 90% of the accidents on it!
Little less trying to sell us stuff we can’t afford and more biking and adventures please.
