[Intralogistics] Automated handling solution for a GLS depot in Italy

Fives provided a bidirectional parcel sorting system based on EASY-Capture and swiveler for GLS' agency located in Tribiano, Italy. The new equipment carries out inbound and outbound operations at a capacity of up to 3,000 items per hour.
GLS Enterprise is part of the GLS Group (General Logistics Systems), an express-courier player providing national and international delivery services worldwide. The GLS Group is one of the three main companies in the Italian parcel express market for documents, parcels and pallets.
The project is part of a GLS program to modernize existing depots and automate new ones, in order to face business increase. The solution designed by Fives is based on a linear sort conveyor equipped with bidirectional swiveler diverters that carries out both merging and sorting functions.
