This proliferation of adidas models is confusing and I don’t think it helps someone wanting to buy their models. Honestly I just need three: Adios 6/7/8 as a daily lightweight trainer Takumi Sen 8/9 for speed work and any race up to 10k Adios Pro 3 for longer races If you’re going off-road get some SpeedGoats. Adidas trail shoes are hopeless.
I have used Adidas Adizero RC3 for a year. Its a really affordable shoe in india less than 50pounds/ dollars. Lot of young athletes use it for the lightweight, affordability and great for track work. And its simple minimalistic shoe. RC line might not be as known abroad but its a budget beginner racer.
Love that Adidas are listening to the users and make the necessary changes. Lightstrike 1.0 was terrible, so glad to hear 2.0 is softer. And more Lightstrike Pro too. Could be the first Adios I purchase.
My Boston 12's should arrive tomorrow and im looking forward to getting out in them. I will be sad to retire my Boston 8's tho still in good shape after more than 3200Km in them.
Thanks for the video! The Adios 8 looks super exciting! I have the Adios 5 and 6 (as per your recommendation, awesome shoes!). Let's hope the 8 will be great as well!

Adidas make my favourite running shoes, not gonna lie. Feel like quite a lot of people sleep on the Adizero range in favour of the boost shoes… Adizero shoes are badass 🔥🔥
The Adios 8 definitely looks like an improvement. I'm pleased about the new upper and outsole and the classic black and white colorway too! Lighter too. Everything looks very positive. However, I was burnt on the Adios 6 which caused me blisters and ended up being a big waste of my money. I'll probably try the Asics Magic Speed 3 instead or get a Saucony Speed 3 on discount. I'm afraid my love for Adidas has definitely waned these last few years.
Can't wait for the Boston 12. Every time I see your videos, I want to go out and buy new running shoes. Can't tell you how many shoes I have purchased by looking at your "yea or nay" videos.
I own RC4, Boston 11 and Takumi Sen 8. RC4 is my option to gym strength training and treadmill finishing. Boston 11 is great to it too, but I like having 2 shoes rotation at every activity I practice. So I feel the RC line (SL20 heirs) like a duck: runs a little, weight lifting okay, casual using okau. I love Takumi Sen but its carving makes it bad to weight lifting and walkinf casually.
Hey Edd i've just stumbled across your channel and i'm wondering can you reccomend me a shoe? I've only ever used the adidas rc 2 & 3 (rc3 being my fav shoe) and the adidas adizero adios 5's i've ran all my 10k & halfs in these and was wondering any simular later models? I like the feeling of the ground and i tend to stay away from massive platform shoes 😂 but saves me buying rc 3 again is there anything you think i might like? Takumi's looking sweet 2bh but never tried them would you say they are ok for half distances?
@@EDDBUD thanks for reply edd funny enough i was looking at adios 7s and some sl's i'de love 2 go for the takumi sen 9's over anything i've had my eye on them! but i have never ran in a carbon plate and not sure what they are like so i'll probally try the adios 7 or 8 since i do like the adios 5 and there only going to be a decent upgrade ;) thanks again
I don't know what is the purpose of the boston 10, 11, or 12... but Some say it is for easy days. I dont think so, It has carbon rods! I agree It is more like the zoom fly 5. The zoom fly 5 is basically the worst shoe I have ever worn. It doesnt have a specific purpose, and gave my foot a bag a blisters. Dont buy shoes without knowing its purpose! but the adios boston 11 felt comfortable to me... But I still do not think It has a specific purpose.
Maybe I am picky but I just can't stand different colours of the foams. I looks really bad when u have white light strike and then some creamy white pro foam 😳😁 I skip these and keep running in adios pro 1. Still so amazing! 🎉
I bought the RC5 as a casual/walking shoe. Already discounted to 54 euro. I like the full lightstrike midsole for casual use. But don't tell Adidas that I don't intend to run with it 😬
Adidas shoes don't make my feet happy but I did finally got enough miles into the primeX to make it usable..I did see the primeX strung on sale at for $209..maybe the upper will be more breathable and stable than the OG..
Was quite scared to open this one up as I knew that you and the majority of the comments may sway me to empty wallet further. 😅 Adios 8 has really intrigued me - sleeker and more nimble. Looking forward to this one for speed sessions and possibly the Boston 12 for Threshold and longer reps. Looking forward to your reviews Edd. 🤓
Just bought both last week and they are awesome ! Specially the Boston 12 isn’t comparable to its predecessors … lightstrike 2 is much softer and ist lower to the ground . Just a much more fun ride .
@MrVtilbo yes B12 can go tempo and interval. Lighstrike 2.0 is softer then bricky LS 1.0 but it's not mushy when picking upper the pace like Boost midsole. Tô me it feels like somewhere between LS 1.0 and LS Pro. B12 is a great shoe.
I think of the RC5 similarly to the Rival Fly in Nike, where they're including some of their 2nd tier / older technology in a cheaper model to populate some discount bins at the factory outlets
I've actually held the Boston 12s on hand. I hated my Boston 10s and actually just gave them away. But the 12s are very different just holding them. The lightstrike 2.0 is way softer than the 1.0 and the shoe is way lighter all in all. Too bad didn't get to pick them up coz I just purchased the new balance propel v4s. I'm excited to try those out but I'll just wait for them at the outlet store. 😂😂😂

I'm encouraged by the Adios 8's redesigned upper mesh. I love the 7' besides them splitting out in several areas. Thank you for another informative and enjoyable video!
Didn't like the firmness of the Boston 10 so I bypassed the 11,but I'm looking forward to the 12. I wouldn't have mind if they would of kept the same stack height of the 10/11,but def looking forward to the lightstrike 2.0,wasn't a fan of the original lightstrike(love the lightstrike pro)

I was watching this and thinking of my fond memories of the Nike Pegasus 36. And tried to find a pair online... Have you seen what they go for? So I thought maybe then the 35/34 they were pretty much the same. The further back I went the worse it got. The sneaker resell scene has gone bonkers. These are running shoes that I threw in the bin after beating them up. I can agree if you have the original Jordans from 84. Or Kobe's first or last shoe he wore. But these are running shoes who most notably might have been worn maybe by your next door neighbour, who's only claim to fame was finishing the local pub spicy wing challenge 😅
Huge fan here…Nike was my go to but Adidas has come back for me as a novice. Pro 3, adios 7 and now the RC 5…it’s a shoe that will work it’s way into a rotation lol Excellent review Sir!
Ahahaaa i was watching all the previews and photos of the shoes on Instagram and I thought "imagine Edd doing an episode for all the 3 stripes incoming!" 😅 Would really like to see a Boston 12 review. Looks very different.
I liked it in the end the Boston 11, but in the first runs, it was a bit dull, hard, and not that bouncy. But after ~5 runs, it became a lot of fun to run in them. I'm just wondering if I will have any difficulties to adapt myself to thus 6.5mm drop of the new Boston 12. A few years ago I have tried the GlideRide 2 from Asics, a 5mm drop shoe that was supposed to make me strike with the middlefoot ,but I ended up doing a lot of heel strikes ... these shoes did not last much to me. Actually, the GR2 is part of my top three less durable shoes I ran in the last 5 years.
OK watched it all finally. I like your yays and nays. Perfect! Comment on Boston 12: read/watched too many reviews. Adidas states it's lower profile, and much much lighter than 11s, removes the heel plate a la Takumi Sen, and fully carbon energy rods, not that infused (confused?) version in 10-11s. Break-in miles also unnecessary, and responsive for faster paces.
