Aside from being an outstanding composer and having a great voice, he is such an underrated guitarist.
jgbatalla I know, it's effortless for him. also with piano.
jgbatalla I mean hi band has two of the most talented (technical skill for Johnny; sound design and soundscape creating for Ed) guitarists of all time in the same band, it’s difficult to focus on Thom’s guitar playing in comparison.
His live version of Bloom is just unbelievable! This man is a genius!

Thanks for sharing this mate. Was an unexpected find for me. What a live performance. Especially Bloom ... loved the live from the basement version. But this stripped down version holds so much punch. It's so rich in sound, it's like winning the lottery.

I overlooked the album version of Bloom until after I heard them play it live in Sydney, which blew my mind. That track is best experienced live.

I was a card carrying supporter of ACC theory. Thom Yorke is a personal hero of mine, but I'm sad to see he's still on this road to nowhere of Antropogenic climate change. I love the environment too, I love nature, and I do all I can to preserve it - but this is a red herring. The science is NOT beyond debate - it's NOT decided - and consensus is NOT science.
PLEASE - before we condemn ourselves and our children to a desolate planet, and ignore the real threats of waste, pollution, energy crisis - and funnel more and more money into the black whole casino of the carbon credit casino - let's have an unemotional reality check. The traditional liberal left seem unable to accept that this phenomenon is being used in this way by a group of powerful state, financial and corporate interests to consolidate power and fully 'globalize' the world. It's not all bad news, as a strong euro skeptic movement does exist.
Tom, and his fans hearts are in the right place. But those fans of his who question how he puts himself up to be used as a tool for this movement has to be questioned. I mean no disrespect to Thom, but I don't think the belief in ACC is based on understanding, but based on browbeating, fear, emotions, and genuine concern about the future.
I don't carry cards anymore. Left, right, denier, skeptic - I go where truth leads me, and I know there are ways we could 'prepare' for 'climate change' without investing in the bureaucratic BULLSHIT offered up to us by all these autocratic wishy washy summits.
What about the failing health of our entire society, what about the ever growing threat of world war three, the loss of civil liberties, unsustainable food practices?
Please check the Corbett report, and search 'Climate change' or 'Message to the environmental movement', and other videos. I won't return here, because I'm not interested in an online flame war. I'm appealing to your capacity to question yourself, and question authority, I don't have answers for you, you have to find them yourself.

He has had this idea that only scientists from oil companies deny CO2 as a driver of climate change, but since he supports Jeremy Corbyn it's going to be hard for him to dismiss his brother Piers Corbyn who predicts the weather for a year in advance using mostly solar cycles and is skeptical of CO2's influence. Plus the recent discoveries about the Eocene epoch suggest CO2 doesn't cause a runaway greenhouse effect. Just tropical rainforests from pole to pole. You don't work for an oil company. I don't work for an oil company, and neither does Piers. I'm sorry sarcasm is the norm in your life. I get it. It might take a little adjustment for all of us to get used to positivity and an optimistic vision of the future.
+Reign of Stars I liked David Suzuki's approach. Ask people, "Do you want cleaner air? Cleaner Water? Do you want more trees? More fish? " On these questions, who could answer in the negative? While people can argue forever about CO2, who can deny smog that you can taste and smell, that makes you cough? Who can deny polluted water and resultant disease, decline and extinction in susceptible species? Carbon emissions are the enemy du jour. Carbon taxes and credits need serious auditing too. Not long ago, at least one country was caught selling credits for maintaining forests they were actually cutting down.
