You missed the Moschops. You can get it at lvl 1. No saddle needed. It farms everything quite well and if you can get a male and female, you can imprint early on one and have them start creating eggs for you for kibble. Moschops. Best tame in the game when you start out. It gets berries, thatch, meat, hide.. and it's got respectable life and damage. It's only negative is that it has no saddle for protection.
You forgot the tickle chicken, for me still the best general harvesting mount, at least for wood and berries. Plus the extra good harvesting of rare flowers. Also quite capable of fighting or transporting. I usually try to get one as fast as possible, way before I even think about a Rex or something like that.
Whenever possible, I grab an Equus first. They don't need a saddle to ride, turn into a low lvl chem bench (way better than mortar and pestle) if you do make the saddle, can kick things to knock them out and is fast enough to outrun stuff. Then I use that to tame a few Dire Wolves since they don't need a saddle either and a strong pack can handle most threats. After that, it's Pt then Argy then Anky, Doedic and Beaver. From there I start taming whatever I feel like.
#1 ptera. Easy to tame, not a big loss if it dies. Gives you wings, easy to hide. You'll ger hide and meat. Can fly to get metal & to trap argy (as mentioned on this video).
Absolutely fantastic. The only addition I have is, personally, my first tame is always a female Dodo. I feel these are very underrated by people starting out. You can tame them seconds after you first spawn into the game.. Best thing is the eggs last longer than cooked meat/berries for eating. Plus, If a Dino chases you, you don't have to outrun it, you just have to outrun your Dodo. Lol RIP Dodo. Finally they don't make terrible storage units in the beginning. Yes, they don't have much carry weight but consumables will last hours in them instead of minutes on you or in a storage box (like those narcoberries as I wait for the narcotic to unlock) and they do well holding blueprints. Big tip: Make a raft for taming purposes especially on official pve. Build one 3 by 3 by 2 high but don't put a gate or wall in front as Dino ai will avoid it. Get around this by luring it in first and then place a wall and Dino gateway behind it, trapping it. You can now sedate and tame it safely
I tame an army of dillos and roam the beach killing everything until I build a raft for a mobile base. I may get a parasaur for farming berries, and then wait until I can get a ptera.
I think they broke Anky's ability to harvest while being carried. It's very 50/50 if it works. The Dody is spot on though, can harvest perfectly when carried near a node.
Thyla for me is the best medium hide/meat collector, also perfect for cave run (though idk if it fits on every cave in ASA). Bleed ability makes it a wonderful tame though the hard part is taming one cause it can pounce and maul face like no tomorrow 🤣
Thyla fits into almost NO caves on ASA. They made all entrances smaller. Some report being able to perform jumping shenanigans to get it to fit in Carno cave but basically fits nowhere else without raising one in the cave.
for fertilizer rather than the compost bin I go with the dung beetles, turn on their poop collecting and just run by every 10 minutes and empty them out
In my The Island games, I always go for Parasaur then Pteranodon and Sarco. The sarco can easily help you farm cem paste from beaver dams and can even get you to the pearlcave south of the map without points in oxygen. The Pterry can help you easily tame an arg which is the biggest QoL unlock in the game.
First tame is moshcops if you can find one you have the right stuff for, otherwise parasaur. 2nd is a trike. Usually you'll have a small 3x3 base over at herbivore island by now, even if you have to build it on a raft. 3rd is anky to get the start over your metal up and running. You can get this second, but taking levels of saddles into consideration I put this 3rd 4th is a Ptera, obvious reasons. This could also be 2nd or 3rd, no biggy. 5th is another ptera. The lower lever ptera gets sacrificed to the Argent gods (usually your first ptera, as first ptera is used to help find higher level ptera). Next is Argent. Then I get the doed for to help build stone structures for traps. With the stone traps you used the doed to harvest and gun you got thanks to Anky you now get the first Rex. Thanks to the argent killing babies is easier than ever for prime meat. Now you get your mammoth. You use the Rex to keep it safe on the journey home. Finally time to build your end game base. Almost forgot. Now is the best time to get a giant sloth (if they are still in this game) to kill bugs. Now you start getting the highest level rexes for mating and either dire wolves or sabers for caves. Boom your ready for the boss fights.
A high health Phiomia is a great mount for taming from the back of, i tend to grab one right off the bat and level all into health so i can tame raptors/stegos/trikes/carno.
If you find a parasaur with a baby you can knock it out with just a club as it won't run away leaving its baby. Very useful if the whole area in pillared off and you can't place anything.
Low level: - flock of dimorphodons for meat/hide - stego for wood/thatch/berries - moschops Mid/high: - doedicurus for stone - anky for flint/metal/crystal/obsidian - mammoth for wood and thatch and also berries - argy for transport - frog for cementing paste - sabertooth for chitin, hide, meat (mostly for caving) - pelagornis for polymer - bear for honey, fiber, meat, hide - dung beetle (always name them poo lord) - otter high level: - the above plus rhyniognatha for transport
I love how different people tame different stuff. I got a Trike as early body guard, then a Pteranodon, which helped me tame my Argy, as a cave and land mount I get a Bary, which will also help me get a Basilo, which I'll use for ocean stuff and the caves down there. As a trophy I just got a unicorn. I also like to tame doggies (the Jurassic Park Spit Boys) as early hunters. Getting a Phioma is a good idea, but I hate pigs... So... I'll just try to get a dung beatle. Since I am usually more focused on building, it should be fine :D In my current play through, I am already High level but only have a Pteranodon and an Argy in my base... And of course the Unicorn, I found by accident lol. And of course one needs an otter! I don't really like the giant Meaters so I go with tickle chickens for the bosses and for larger game. In my last play through I demolished every Giga with my tickle chicken group and one Yuti. Yuti is the only big meater I get!

I would replace the phiomia with a dung beetle with their auto pick up poop function they create more fertilizer you ever need as long you have 1 or 2 dinos nearby. Along with some free oil.
I always get a parasuar first. Usually use that until I find a pt or an iguanadon. Then i use para as an alerter at base. Iguanadon is my go to over pt though just because the sheer survivability they have from low levels. Inf sprinting stamina big starting weight and health are disgusting especially if you level melee on character. You'll start to outdamage most wild dinos early game just using a pike on its back.

Saber is shit tame, absolutely useless - tame baryonix instead. Frog is great indeed as a water mount and taming assist, but not for cementing paste, snail is miles better. And then you use baryonix to tame basilo, use basilo to kill mosas, use black pearls and turtles to tame a squid. Squid makes you god in sea and gives you oil. Also makes it easy to tame rex and transport it from carnivore island to base, no raft needed. Also mammoths are pieace a cake if you are in hidden lake, they are next to you basically. Same as yutis. And you will need yuti for bosses and for snow cave. Though if you have therizino, mammoths are indeed useless. Sarcos are also great mount to get crystal lol. Because you can run away from things and have enough weight to bring crystal back from underwater caves. Frog does not cut it and baryonix is too slow. And bigger tames won't fit.

Hey nooblets I hope you see this because you keep it real with your fanbase there are a lot of issues on Xbox but I would put up with Crashing Low frame rate Horrible controls and I compared to the first game But there's one that is stopping many Xbox players from playing the game at random the game will stop saving so if you go and play for a hour or 2 you will come back to your character 1 hour or 2 hours back but in the chat log it still. shows everything you did so I'm putting this here in hopes you cover it but also because I want to notify console Asa players and its not mods that corrupt the save and restarting does not help it still happens

Thatch house moving turning it into stone…. unlock cooking pots, Just make lots of cooking pots , destroying them, and making more , your levels will go up very fast ! You can get your XP level up to at least 76 by doing this. Does this take the fun out the game? Not at all, It gives you more choice of the direction you take!🎉

I need help fixing my game, I've spent countless hours trying to fix it through settings/UI nothing is working. The whole game is nothing but one big fog storm anyone else have this issue or can offer some insight
It's a geat informative video. The only thing I don't like is you using words that only advanced players (who aren't really your target audience) understand. I mean, what's an R.G. or an Argy? Well, looking further into what you're calling the creature learns it's an Argentavis. You don't mention that word at all, although it's the actual name of the species. And this goes on during the entire video.
its mostly like i do but instead of a para and the megaloceros i tame a moschops. i do so as soon as i can. often before building my first base because its a good thatch, hide and berry farmer and dont need a saddle. later you will need it for poly. in one playthrough i had a moschops with level 3. but i dont recommend to tame a high level because later into the tame maybe it wants something like honey you dont have and that is frustrating.
dont understand your point. you never get to end game in official pvp? cause the moschops is the most importent dino for poly. yes in early game it will die very fast but its tamed in a second if you find a low level and even with a lvl 5 moshops you farm hundrets of narcos and tintos you need early game. hail Hydra

Ark is full of exploits remove the trees the rocks the water and your PC will run fine, and you can see other players Ez use INI Ez Kill in PvP no one can hide from you and you can use meshing and exploits to make dinos breed faster😋😛🤑🤑🤑😝

Personally, I'd replace the carno with a Baryonx. Gives ocean exploration options, cave mount, and pretty quick.
I did that in my most recent save and Bary is deffies better. Also did Spino instead of Rex and that's also better.
Don't forget the otter. Early temperature mitigation is incredibly helpful.

I do that with with the Dilos :D They also give me early game pack hunters and easy deffence!

i think that the best dino for mix kind of farm is a therizino, i use it from early lvls

A tip with Amber Turd - to save on it's food with the explosive diarrhea.. Just press it slowly - they drop a grumpy every 2-3 stimberries

its mostly like i do but instead of a para and the megaloceros i tame a moschops. i do so as soon as i can. often before building my first base because its a good thatch, hide and berry farmer and dont need a saddle. later you will need it for poly. in one playthrough i had a moschops with level 3. but i dont recommend to tame a high level because later into the tame maybe it wants something like honey you dont have and that is frustrating.
So what you're saying is that you don't play official pvp.
dont understand your point. you never get to end game in official pvp? cause the moschops is the most importent dino for poly. yes in early game it will die very fast but its tamed in a second if you find a low level and even with a lvl 5 moshops you farm hundrets of narcos and tintos you need early game. hail Hydra

Hi Steve, 👋❤,,,, Chuckles here an hate to make you look like a noob but best first tame is a horse 💪a few points in melee an you can knock out any max level dino with it,and it's saddle makes narcotic,and you can pull knocked out tames out of water with it,,,,,,spawn on rag,get your metal tools by blue ob,get spoild meat on the way down the beach to get carrots from the garden then max level horse ,so now your standing there with crossbow an arrows from blue ob spoild meat and a horse to get barrys an make narcotic,,,wqt they get barrys too😂yes,,,,,they can knock out anything,,,argys,alo,rexs,trike,bronto,,,,,,get so many max level tames off some carrots..,,,,,,,,,,,,,the horse is hands down the best first tame,,,

Ark is full of exploits remove the trees the rocks the water and your PC will run fine, and you can see other players Ez use INI Ez Kill in PvP no one can hide from you and you can use meshing and exploits to make dinos breed faster😋😛🤑🤑🤑😝

Moschops, equus, and pego are definitely some great early tames that are worth a mention
