Furniture Flip using Dixie Belle No Pain Gel Stain and Gator Hide
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 лют 2025
- This is another furniture flip that we decided to leave as natural as possible. We used Dixie Belle No Pain Gel Stain to even out the color and Gator Hide to protect the top. We'll see if it sells this way. If it doesn't, watch for another video where we'll be painting it. As of posting the video, we have someone who has said they'll pick it up tomorrow. We'll let you know!

Beautiful piece. Thanks for bringing it back to life instead of painting. 👍
Glad you like it!
I'm so glad you didn't paint it. It truly is gorgeous as is. You did a fantastic job of touching it up.
Thank you so much!
Great project. Looks great. Sharing a tip….that I learned while in the military. If you have two buckets of warm water, you can rinse the dirt in the water bucket before returning it to the cleaning solution. This ensures you are not using dirty water on your target item you are cleaning. It might help.
I love waterfall furniture.
We're going to try that! Thanks!😁
Thanks for this efficient tip!
This is such a pretty piece of furniture. I love painted furniture but I’m glad you left this natural.
We agree....thanks!
Wow, looks like the number of subscribers has doubled since 7/7! Woohoo!
Loved your decision not to paint, just clean, fix, stain, and protect. What a lovely difference you've made!
We did add some paint in a later video.....but hopefully it just enhanced what we had! Thanks!
Good morning Jim and Cindy. ...I have my cup of coffee and ready to get inspired! 👍😊☕☕☕
Good morning!
Who wouldn’t buy it….that is a great price…thank you for keeping your pieces reasonable….most try to sell really high. Love your channel.
Very true! Although the piece was not selling so we made some changes.....video coming soon!😁
Beautiful!!
Thanks Dee!
So glad you didn’t paint this one and love the way you revitalized it! It’s stunning
Thank you so much!
Beautiful! Thank you. I am so pleased when someone can do a minor refurbish on a lovely vintage piece. At times the condition requires painting to save it, but when it’s in that nice of condition, it should be saved close to original. I have two waterfall dressers I bought at a thrift store and my daughter has a bureau (that’s what we called it) I inherited from my mother and passed along to her.
You'll see in a later video that we did add some paint on the drawers since we weren't getting any interest here locally. Thanks!
I’m glad you are trying to sell in its original state. It’s a lovely piece of furniture history. You can tell it was loved enough to be taken care of. All of that beautiful veneer work!
If it doesn’t sell and you feel the need to paint, I saw a waterfall piece on Pinterest where all the lovely veneer was left unpainted (top and drawers and doors) and painted the sides and trim black. It looked very nice and made it a bit more modern looking.
We had a pretty badly damaged waterfall dresser, but we managed to save quite a bit of the wood. You can see it here... ua-cam.com/video/hAnNiqVkZww/v-deo.html Thanks!
Soooo Beautiful!
Thank you!!
Beautiful pieces
Thank you!
Beautiful. That dresser in the background is gorgeous too!!
Thanks Pamela!😄
Ive been enjoying your videos
Thanks Poppy!
Your videos are great to watch. Clear instruction and I love that the music is relaxing and doesn’t drown you out. Keep them coming! Also the work is awesome 👏
Thank you so much! We're always working on our video editing skills too!😊
You both did an awesome job with this piece I'm so glad you didn't paint it the wood is beautiful I agree with you thank you for sharing all your great works of arts and talents and wisdom with us I pray you both have a great day and may the Lord bless you both thanks for sharing
Thanks again!
I was praying you would not paint that
You made the right decision
Beautiful work, very enjoyable watching
Thank you very much!
I’m so glad you didn’t paint over this piece. It’s almost an antique (100+ years) and it’s beautiful just the way it is.
We actually did add some paint in a later video and we sold it shortly thereafter.....who knew?😀
I found you two a few days ago. Job well done! I flip as well, but video is so hard for me. I admire how well yours come out. Love the camera sounds at the end.
Awesome! Thank you! We did end up doing some painting....video coming soon!😁
Love your ideas for your channel and that you didn’t paint this piece. Not my style of furniture but it is beautiful. 1k is so close!
Thank you so much! But watch for a new video coming soon. We did end up doing some painting on it since it wasn't selling......It's all part of flipping furniture!😁
That's a beautiful piece. 1k is around the corner, keep up the great work.
Thanks 👍
This piece of furniture is soooooo gorgeous like that! Bravo. If I were living in your country, I would have bought it. But... I live in France. 😊
Thank you so much! And Welcome!
Wow that piece was just gorgeous. I have yet to find one where the veneer isn’t all chipped to hello. So glad you opted not to paint. I love painted pieces, but there are some that should just be freshened up, and let the beauty of the wood speak for itself. Getting the orange out, was smart, as well. I have used gel stain for that as well. I’ve also used Odie’s oil, to freshen… works beautifully and much faster than staining. This piece is a beauty. I’m thinking that’s Bakelite hardware? Don’t see that anymore, and hard to find intact.
This was the second piece we came across with bakelite hardware. You're right in that you don't see much of it that has survived!😁 Thanks Joyce!
I have the ceder chest that goes with this dresser. So beautiful.
How cool! Thanks!
That’s really beautiful piece! I am glad you didn’t paint it!
Thank you!
Love the dresser, not the hardware lil
Thanks! The hardware does seem a bit off for this piece....😲
2 questions. What do the coffee cups say? Mama turns hers so quickly!!
Why do you brush final topcoat? I find a sponge gives a better sheen, no brushstrokes at all !
Mine says "I 💗 Bacon", and Cindy's says "Phone? Wallet? Keys?" on one side and "Now where did I put my coffee?" on the other side. We use a sponge most of the time for topcoat, but it was easier because of the curved top and trying not to get the topcoat on the other pieces of trim.😀 Thanks for Asking!
So This tip has happened many time ...So when UA-cam updates their system (which happens every couple of months) the "bell notification Sets BACK to default" so even though ur subscribers still are subscribed....However IF you Notice that Ur Viewings on ur videos start to go lower Then Tell the viewers To "Reclick the notification bell" and Everything will be back to Ur normal viewers Per video. ..Hope this info helps y'all. ...Stay blessed and piece came out Beautiful ❤️
Thanks for the tip!😊
@@FurnitureWarriors absolutely.....I try to let who I follow when I realize I'm Not getting my notifications. ...so when you do see the.defline in viewers....Just Let the followers know in the beginning of ur flip to Reclick the bell when this happens. .you both are awesome!
Hope you will wait on the right buyer instead of painting it. Post in local antique groups on Facebook
Certainly there is someone somewhere who will love and buy such a stunning piece of furniture, an Art Déco style.
We hope so too!😀
Do you do all your edits on your videos? I'm clueless how to and I'm 42 . I love your channel. I just got a similar dresser , waterfall, and you helped me because I wasn't sure what would happen if I sanded it
Yes, we do all of our own editing. Glad our video helped!
Beautiful. Hope you found it a good home.
We did! Thanks!😀
Beautiful work of art. I’m glad you didn’t paint it. But did it sell?
In a later video, you'll see that we did paint the drawers. It still hasn't sold. Everything seems to be slow right now.😊
Are you Dixie Bell Brand Ambassadors? If so, what is the process of becoming one? Thanx
Not yet, but you would have to contact Dixie Belle for information.😊
Sometimes less is more.
Thanks!
Before you paint change those knobs. I doubt they are original. The stain made the piece beautiful!
We think those may actually be the original. We found another with the same knobs. We would probably change them though if we paint. Thanks!😊
I would bet that these knobs are ordinal ones. They look like perfect with this piece of furniture, in the Art Déco style. Their proportions and curves fit perfectly well, IMHO.
@@FurnitureWarriors I agree. There are original.
Veneers are so magnificent... Please, try to keep them for some Art Déco lover! 😉
I'm so glad you didn't paint this! They don't make these any more!
After waiting for it to sell, we did eventually do some painting on this piece. We tried to keep it minimal while updating the piece. You can see what we did here. ua-cam.com/video/DHg7-lDYA0w/v-deo.html Thanks!
Before you paint change those knobs. I doubt they are original!
They look original to me.
😊
Oh my God!😱 Please do not paint it... whatever you do please do not paint it. This is a waterfall dresser from the 1920s. Please do not paint it🙏
We really don't want to paint it, but we can only hold on to a piece for so long. Our workspace gets to full and there's nowhere left to work on new pieces!🤔
