    The MotoFab 2 in. Front Leveling Kit provides a true 2 inch lift to your F-150’s front. The kit features a pair of extra strong strut spacers that can withstand rugged conditions. Additionally, the 2 inch lift helps eliminate the factory nose-down rake or counter sag due to heavy accessories like bumpers and winches. Leveling your truck provides improved handling without affecting the OEM ride quality.

    Talk about doing it the hard way... You do not need to pull calipers or axle shafts to install 2" leveling spacers. Just disconnect the sway bar and strut and drop it down. I installed mine in 90 minutes in my driveway using hand tools.

    I decided to give this a try after watching this video. I have a 2016 F150 4x4 and installed the MotoFab 2.5 leveling kit. Literally just did the step by step process in this video and it was easy peasy. He is also correct on needing a buddy to help take off and install the struts because that’s tough by yourself. Other than that, if you have a nice socket set along with some elbow grease, it’s very simple. Thanks for posting this because it helped a lot, and my truck looks great!

    I put the motofab spacers on my 05 f150 4wd.They were either 2" or 2 1/2".I did not rotate the bottom of strut in a vice like you did.My Upper Control Arms are at a pretty steep angle and have completely broken off out of the control arm itself.The ball joint stayed connected to the spindle.I put new control arms (Moog) on it and they are still at same steep downward angle.I also did not really loosen the sway bar up as much as you did when installing the spacers.Do you think Loosening and then re tightening the sway bars will help relieve some of that angle???Or any suggestions would be appreciated.Thanks!!!

    Ok to any one trying this I just did one today in a shop with a lift . I completed each side differently one side i removed just the sway bar link and upper control arm ,I then had to remove the lower control arm bolts because the axle was preventing the arm to drop low enough to install the new set up . The other side I did it Just like the video and it took twice as long but was way easier in my opinion.

    To save yourself alot of the leg work get 2 heavy duty high tension ratchet straps pop the top bolts crank down on the ratchet straps remove the top bolts finish cranking the straps enough to get the spacer in there use a jack under the lower control arm to get the spring back in bolt it up and your done release the straps slowly release the jack under the lower control arm and your done.

      I personally feel that 2-2.5" seems to deliver a perfect 'level'. -Justin

    • @Sagittarius-88
      @Sagittarius-88 4 роки тому +1

      2.5" would probably get you closer to a perfect level, but you have to take some geometry into consideration, particularly CV axle angle, and control arm clearance when the suspension is hanging. You can only go so far with spacers before the upper control arm will hit the coilover spring when the suspension is hanging. I had 3" spacers on my 08 Expedition, and when I put that vehicle on a lift, the upper control arms contacted the coilover springs. It seems the most common/cost effective modification is a 2" leveling kit with 33" tires, which is probably where I'm headed with my 2020 F150. I don't think 2" inches of leveling would cause any of the aforementioned geometry issues whatsoever.

    • @Matt_TX
      @Matt_TX 4 роки тому

      @@Sagittarius-88 the 2.5" is standard leveling done by ford dealerships. 2" would get you to near level. 2.5 will for sure get you to level without any issues. 3"and up will begin to cause issues.

    Maybe I’m smoking glue or asleep, but I surely don’t remember taking off half of my front end (ie the brakes and lines and all that shit) to do this. It took about 20min per side plus I didn’t have to worry about possibly screwing up anything else that was removed. Just the upper ball joint and your good. Also, just a thought....but does anyone else think this axle nut is pretty damn small on these trucks or am I smoking glue again?

    • @specforged5651
      @specforged5651 4 роки тому

      Glenn Maggard ...2015. Honestly now that I look at it I guess I did about everything he did besides the axle part (it was a different truck I didn’t remove the brakes) Seems there was enough play in the CVs to move it enough. I’ve heard of guys with little knowledge screwing up their 4wd after messing with the axle, but don’t know if that is true or not. I remember thinking it could have been done with just the upper control arm off, but I did all the brake stuff too just because I wanted to clean and inspect it all anyways. I think some of the years have a different way the bottom of the strut mounts (some have two bolts on an angle). Since you have to turn your strut 180 just swap sides with those instead of trying to move those the opposite direction. This literally took me 20 min per side. Yes I have a lift and all the correct tools and knowledge, but it certainly isn’t difficult. I was going to just use my strut compressor and pull it right out but those things really scratch up the coils...but you could do it that way. Just be careful with brake lines and abs sensor. Bungie or zip tie them all up out of the way or whatever you want to do to keep them from being damaged. It’s really not hard and with a little knowledge and some jackstands it shouldn’t be difficult for someone to do in their driveway. DONT mess with the control arm/body mounts (where the alignment is done) it’s not necessary like some vids show. However be sure to get an alignment no matter what. Good luck...you’ll be fine.
