First off, thank you for taking the time to make this video 👍🏻
As a level and lift veteran I’d recommend a smaller lift like a 4” which allows for larger tires all while still being able to drive into parking garages as well as your own garage. Benefits of the lift out way the level. Lift: much better ground clearance for hunters, beach goers and off-roaders. Level: Untrue that your ride isn’t affected because with a lift you’re still able to keep the factory geometry but not with a level as your CV Joints and UCA’s over flex and can and will wear quickly when off-roading. Highly recommend coil overs with either as spring ratio plays a large role in ride comfort.

Tbh I’m 22 years old. I got my first truck about last year in august. Always wanted a truck you know wanted to go crazy and get a lift and everything but I just put a 3.5 level kit on it. And I’m in love it definitely a lot better than how it used to be just slap some big tires on it and you’ll be good. Basically If you never had a lift or level kit before I recommend just to start off with a level and work your way up a lot cheaper too 👍

If you level your truck you should be able to fit in most parking structures and garages. However, if you lift more than 3 inches you will no longer fit. I leveled out my f150 on 33.5-inch tires and only had 1 to 2 inches of clearance in most structures.

After the leveling kit is installed you have to get an alignment. Usually last step of alignments they will lower your headlights a couple inches to counter the leveling kit.

Crazy question, since your talking customization.
Could you get a f150 raptor and turn it into a street version? (a la svt lightning)
Like changing the off road suspension into one more street oriented?
That would include wheels and brakes prob too.
One of the reasons I like the raptor is the flared out look in the wheel wells.
I've seen the Shelby f150 super snake sport which is more of lightning (street truck) replacement.
The only thing is with that type of power increase in that engine I would think 4wd or awd would be a huge advantage at the truck weight they got.
I have a 2001 lightning and I would like to replace it. The live axel (posi-traction) is nice but in slippery conditions a little tricky.
The added traction control and just updated chassis should improve the driving experience. It's gotta be more forgiving than the old lightning
Not to mention the paddle shifters with 10 speed transmission.

I've always been a 2" lift guy but have had a 6 inch lift before as well. My answer nowadays would be NEITHER however. Too much hassle. Messes with too many things. Besides, you can jack that body up into the sky 3 feet if you want, but your ground clearance is still gonna stay at 10 inches! I'm talking both front lca's, your rear-end pumpkin, both lower shock mounts, and the point your driveshaft enters the rear-end. Sure, breakover and approach/departure improve for those ditches we all drive-through daily (lol,) but face it: lifts don't improve a thing for flat-ground clearance. Only thing that will help that, is bigger wheels and tires. Period. The rest is just for looks. After driving around for a year in my new F150 that, for the first time ever I did NOT put a lift on, the level of comfort and driveability compared to lifting has me sold on keeping it factory. And, I have yet to not be able to go on all the same roads/trails I'm used to with my other lifted f150s! My 2 cents.

The higher you lift the truck, the worse gas mileage you get. They never mention it but at $5.50/gal, people will notice. Also, the center of balance and chance of roll over greatly increases. These are important elements they fail to address. If you lift your truck 6", you better widen the track width to compensate or you can easily roll the truck over.

Love the look, love the increased offset side to side, love the bigger 35 tires, and love the springs replacing the leaf struts. Any idea how much of a hit to mpg that lift and those larger tires might cause, what the resulting mpg might be? And maybe what that might be with the ecoboost versus the powerboost? Oh, and also, I like the height of that lift, but could we lift it just a bit less while still allowing sufficient room for the larger tires and such, and how much, half as much of a lift, 2/3's, what is that lift in this truck and what would be the minimum lift possible? Thanks.
On a side note, if you'd care to comment, I'm older, and don't go classic "off roading" as in my youth, not that much anyway, though so I love the 2023 raptor look, that's overkill for me. But a customized Platinum, much like this one, could be just the ticket. I do get off road, more the destination stuff, to a camp or fishing spot or trailhead, and most importantly, living in high altitude ski country as I do, I want to be able to maximize my ability to go anywhere, anytime in any kind of weather. The best ski days after all are on big snowstorm days, so the worse the storm, the more I want to be out there. I do highway driving a lot, including long distance trips now and again, so a reasonably smooth, quiet highway drive is important to me. And I will get to hot desert areas a bunch in the summer, as well as down to see level on the coasts. Am a bit torn between the engine choices now in 2023 or 2024, like the ecoboost versus the powerboost, so that would be a discussion. I'd also consider maybe an RSI Smartcap over the sprayed bed, sprayed or carpeted bed, either at time of purchase or later, if you have any thoughts on that. Though I do wonder about keeping the rear window of the trucks cab clean if it can't be accessed easily with that smartcap in place. And, how do the height and width of the lifted truck in this video compare to that of the Raptor? I'm trying to assess the accessible issue you mentioned while out and about town. I don't mind the extra cost if its reasonable and gets me the best result I could ask for.

The best ride will be the Roush Coilovers. Next best ride quality is the Zone Off Road Leveling kit (BDS sister company), lastly is the ReadyLift leveling kit. However, we have not had any complaints about ride quality on any of these kits. www.tccustoms.com/collections/suspension-1?pf_t_year=Year%3A+2021&pf_t_year_and_condition=true&pf_t_make=Make%3A+Ford&pf_t_make_and_condition=true&pf_t_model=Vehicle%3A+F-150&pf_t_model_and_condition=true

Do you guys have any experience with the older Super Duty trucks, say a 2001? I've been wondering how a leveling kit can be the same for an F250 and an F350 when the 350 sits 2" higher in the rear.

My local Ford dealership said my lift may affect my warranty. I have a 2019 and plan to put on King 2.5" front and rear shocks with 2022 factory new Ford Raptor wheels and tires. Would it be advisable to have the dealership do the work? I am 100% capable of doing the work and would have my local shop do an alignment.

What's the total cost of doing the exact same on my truck if I drive from Florida and how long will it take with the appointment? Wheels and tires as well. The 4" lift.

    • @TCcustoms_
      @TCcustoms_  3 роки тому +1

No. The only reason you may need new shocks are if the current shocks are worn out. If your shocks are in good shape, no shocks are needed.

I’m only 5’9”, and todays trucks are already much taller than what they used to be 20 years ago. Getting a 4-6” lift makes the bed unusable for me.

    • @TCcustoms_

If a random hillbilly installs the lift, yes it will confuse the system. When we do a lift at our facility, we re-calibrate all of those sensors and cameras.
