    45:00 - At this point, I'd start ID'ing rares you intend to vendor to get better currency from them. And if you're going to do that, focus on only picking up small stuff like jewelry and wands and daggers.
    Speaking of picking up stuff, since Filterblade is kosher, you can add Presets to your filter, and there are ones for leveling different archetypes, like Casters. That'll highlight wands and ES gear and de-emphasize/hide stuff like bows and swords.

      @CassKGaming  2 місяці тому

      That’s a great idea. I’ll have to kick off with the ID and the stricter filter before I play next (I am right at the end of Act 4). I definitely don’t need to pick up so many bows and gigantic axes 🤣 unless they are uniques, which I will keep forever just because I can!
      I would like to just see more of the archetype gear though. That would be very handy. I just have to hope I don’t mess up the filter when I play around with it!

    Just FYI, during Dominus phase 2, when he brings his bubble up, you're supposed to stay /inside/ the bubble, because outside the bubble is a blood rain which inflicts a substantial physical DoT debuff on you. But you still lived so *shrug*

      Hahaha I didn’t even know there was a phase 2, so it was a surprise 🤣 just wait till you see the Act 4 achievement that I completely facetanked without realising 🤣 But this is good to know for when I make my hardcore character (my friend Kiga and I are doing a HC challenge in a few weeks)!

    The map overlay is one of the features that sets PoE above the rest in the ARPG category. People from other games should play enough PoE to get used to it :P

      Map overlay is the best tbh. I wish it was in more games!

    16:00 - Well, melee or ranged attacks. Attack speed would only help you out if you had an attack movement skill like Shield Charge.

      @CassKGaming  2 місяці тому

      Ahhh yes and you did advise for shield charge, so that is on the cards to pick up (actually I might do a cheeky log in and check the vendors today while it’s on my mind!)

      @@CassKGaming You can grab it from Siosa in The Library in A3, as he sells all available gems at level 1 so any class can equip them.

    'I like flasks' -- only activates quicksilver while standing still to channel Incinerate
    'I like to complete zones' -- runs past lab trials
    Sweety, you have a problem with insight or self-deception :D

      I’m working on using the flasks more. And I went back to complete the labyrinth trials! I ended up cutting out some of the exploring and stuff or else the video would have been SO much longer 🤣 I probably have problems with both, but what can I say, I am a work in progress!

    I don't believe you need any movement speed, you don't even press your quicksilver flasks when you're running from pack to pack :D

    31:20 - You can't have Einhar with you the whole time /yet/ :D

    (Apologies if any of my advice is redundant, can't see what Twitch has told you and I'm writing these as I watch)
    9:15 - So, if you want tabs:
    1) You /just/ missed the tab sale. Good news is that they happen every 3 weekends.
    2) Don't buy the raw points, buy a supporter's pack, because you get its cost in points on top of all cosmetics. One of the supporter's packs gives you ~a cosmic turtle hideout~. It does cost $90 USD though.
    3) Bare minimum tabs to buy: Currency, Maps, Fragments, Quad. Any league mechanics you end up liking it would probably be beneficial to grab its tab (but you can determine that later). Gem is honestly one of the most useless ones (I have it because I've spent *indistinct mumbling* on this game so I might as well have all the tabs). Of the non-league ones I haven't mentioned, Divination Card is probably the most useful.

      You’re all good, I have to move chat for our next session so you guys can see. I didn’t realise it was cut out so much in the recording. I grabbed a currency tab so far. It would have been better in a bundle I know but whatever the listed cost is is almost 60% more for us due to currency exchange :( so I will have to get little bit by little bit as I can afford it.

      @@CassKGaming Oh yeah, Dollarydoos. I definitely had some sticker shock when I was in AUS ages ago.
      I'd still try to get a supporter pack over the raw currency, especially because anything that's in a supporter pack will /never/ be offered separately, and the packs themselves stay in the store for less than a year.

    • @CassKGaming
      @CassKGaming  2 місяці тому

      Okay, so I heard a rumour around PoE2 that a $30 supporter pack may guarantee you early access? I am pretty sure it’s all speculation atm, but I thought that was interesting, especially if the $30 pack has a lot of worthwhile goodies! I am also a fan of cosmetics, cause I like my character to have as much personality as I can. I am usually one of those ‘spends 3hrs customising a character’ type of people 🤣

    • @whypick1_
      @whypick1_ 2 місяці тому +1

      @@CassKGaming They have not confirmed how one will get into early access, but that is very likely to be how it is done as they have done so in the past (for PoE's closed beta 12 years ago and for the mega-expansion that added Acts 5-10 7 years ago).
      However, said beta likely won't be available until November (announcement at ExileCon last year said it'd be next week, but they announced the delay back in March and a couple weeks ago the console director maybe-inadvertently said it would be November), so I wouldn't expect any such pack to go on sale until that month. However, damn near any cosmetic you buy now will work in PoE2 (exceptions would be tabs for leagues that don't exist and skill MTX if said skill is radically different between the two games).

      @whypick1_ yeah it’s just rumours I have heard. I DID watch a RuneScape UA-camr, J1mmy, go and try out PoE2 on console and give a review. It seems both similar and different. The graphics look nice. But I will keep an eye out for if they confirm access by buying a pack or if it’s a lottery 🤷🏻‍♀️

    26:00 - So...that's not exactly the /best/ course of action. If you're going all-in on ignite, you don't need critical strikes to cause ignites (assuming you are in fact an Elementalist and took Shaper of Flames), critical strike multiplier does not normally scale DoT damage and you can scale fire DoT multi much easier. And that wheel you highlighted for Caster master is for /dual-wielding/. Trust me, you want to keep using a shield (and that caster mastery isn't all that great because spell damage does not scale ignite and if you're going for block than you want a different Ascendancy).

    • @CassKGaming
      @CassKGaming  2 місяці тому

      Oh well that’s interesting. I was thinking that was a logical choice that would improve it. The ignite one. And for the dual wield one, I was thinking it was more for- you have this equipped so you get this bonus- I don’t think I am thinking of block at all! I will have to go back to the giant skill tree and ponder life some more, hahahahaha.
      And you’ll get your definite answer on the ascendancy today! Today’s video is the Lord’s Labyrinth!

      @@CassKGaming So generally speaking, shields provide more defensive power than a second weapon would offensive power. Not only that, %spell damage doesn't boost your damage much and %cast speed isn't as important for DoT builds (both explained below). Oh, and none of the Caster masteries are all that good for what you're building towards. Honestly, I would look way more towards the left side of the tree than the right.
      Ailments/DoTs are straight-forward...once you read it on the wiki since the game sure as hell doesn't tell you most of this. As tl;dr as I can get:
      *The flat damage relevant to that ailment gets added up and is then multiplied by a rate multiplier for that ailment [ignite = 90%/second, 4 second duration] to determine the base DoT rate. That then gets scaled by various modifiers to determine the final DoT damage.
      *Increases to damage regarding the delivery method of the ailment (i.e. specific weapon type, spell), is NOT one of those modifiers.
      *Ailments from crits add a flat bonus to damage unless you grab a keystone that's not exactly close to your starting area and even further away from the good fire nodes. There is another keystone really close by that is /quite/ beneficial so long as you crit every so often.
      *The main idea with ignite (and bleed, for the most part) is to have one big-ass hit to apply one big-ass ailment on monsters, as those ailments don't stack. Wave of Conviction and Armageddon Brand are good for this (and they'd be better if you used, you know, support gems). Poison, on the other hand, can stack (with no limit besides crashing the server...no, that's not a joke, I can point you to a video), so that is typically scaled by getting as many hits as humanly possible (especially because there is some stuff that scales off of the number of poison stacks a monster has).
      *All damaging ailments are DoTs, but not all DoTs are ailments. Just because you have an ignite on a monster doesn't mean it can't be affected by another fire DoT. Look at Flame Surge /hint hint/.
      *Exceptions to any of this specifically say so (there are skills that say "Modifiers to Spell Damage apply to this Skill's Damage Over Time effect", but none of those are fire).
      I assure you, this /is/ the tl;dr version. I could've added way more math to this post.

    • @CassKGaming
      @CassKGaming  2 місяці тому

      @whypick1_ okay, so I will wander myself over to the left of the tree. Yes, with Wave and Armageddon I have switched them around a bit to link them with supports. I am now running into the issue of having the right links/colour for the spell gems :) I like the idea that I could stack some insane poison though, that’s probably the skill/damage that aligns with my play styles (I love stacking damage I can do from range, so I like stacking burning DoT or poisons). So I will check that out.
      I got a lot of instructions from Twitch chat on linked gear/improving gear so I could link gems better (with them telling me in real time- get x and make it y and THEN put those gems in it- for example). So when I am upto my next stream/recording session (tomorrow) for the end of Act 4, you should see gear/gem links being much better, though they were gradually improving during Act 4.
      But your help to head left (poisons and curses maybe? I was considering curses when I started but I was ofc obsessed with burninating the countryside 🤣) in the skill tree will be where I head to :)

      @@CassKGaming Don't add Poison. You either want to scale 1 damage type or /all/ of the damage types (well, fire+cold+lightning; those typically go all in on crit and generic elemental damage rather than scaling the 3 types specifically). In this game, you don't want to half-ass two things, you want to whole-ass one thing.
      On the right there's still some decent nodes like Snowforged and Growth and Decay, but on the left you've got Sovereignty, Holy Fire, Divine Judgement, plus better access to life nodes. And AR tends to be easier for your build type to use vs. EV because most of the fire supports you want are either blue (and you've got INT out the wazoo) or red, so you'll want both STR to be able to equip them (STR travel nodes) and red sockets to put them into with your blue skills (AR+ES gear). You can certainly go pure ES for defenses, but you're still going to need some STR for the support gems.
      So the thing about curses is that they really suck to apply manually, /but/ there is a gem in A4 that would help with that (there is also a unique ring that would help with that would use [one of] Merry and Pippin). I would also look at Defiled Forces and think about what I said about ignites wanting one big-ass hit.

    • @CassKGaming
      @CassKGaming  2 місяці тому

      @whypick1_ I am ALLLLLLL about whole assing one thing :) So I am looking for Sovereignty, Holy Fire and Divine Judgement, plus health/life, plus str nodes so I can equip red gems. You always give me a lot to ponder. I go back and just LOOK at my stuff after your advice, so I can ideally have a slightly better starting point before getting back into playing :) I will keep an eye out for the ring for Merry and Pippin, though realistically I’m not sure how long I can justify keeping them with their mana res being so high. That’s a problem for another day though. I do have some free red slots atm, so I can definitely look into some cool red gems. OH I got a little fire golem buddy! I love having that little dude around!
