Thank you for your very clear presentation, it is one of the best i have seen. This video fearured so many useful tips and your practical suggestions helped to open up the possibilities of what can be accomplished with this software. Looking forward to implementing some of these new features in my current project.
you can also hover your mouse cursor over font and use your roller on your mouse to change font size on the fly. im still a newbie and like the videos very informative.
Thank you so much for this video. It was really useful as a sort of introduction project to get to grips with QGIS. I did have one issue with the scale bar. It when creating it, instead of being linear it was warped and angled. Any potential reasons for this occurrence?
@@geodeltalabs I was attempting to follow along step by step the tutorial to recreate the same geological map of Switzerland. However, when using the geo4_2l layer the projection metadata did not match what you had in the video. I ignored this and kept going with the tutorial and it all worked fine until the scale. The name of the projection was a bizarre collection of numbers and letters and now looking back at the layer data QGIS labels the CRS as "Unkown". Hi, thank you for your video. I am trying to download the shape files from the USGS website but am struggling as url has changed and also the website layout. Please may I ask if you might have any suggestions please? Many thanks, Ven
Hi, thanks for the tutorial. Unfortunately, I cannot follow it because whenever I drop the Switzerland shape file onto the map of Europe it does not show up. When I "Zoom to Layer" on it, it sits completely isolated with a scale of 1:15. Any suggestions?
That tutorial helps me a lot cleaning my data, but I have one problem creating geology maps: I want the original stratigraphic colors to be used and I still did not find out to manage it without changing every single manually... Can someone help?
Hi, you will just have to do it once, and then you can save a colour template for that, so you won't have to do it each time. Check this out, it looks like its answering your question gis.stackexchange.com/questions/71160/how-to-save-colour-color-ramps-in-qgis
Lucid and thoughtful style of teaching. Very helpful video.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for the video .... I am a geologist and your videos have helped me a lot in my day to day GIS tasks
You are welcome :)
Nicely explained with simple language, as any one can understand.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. It has greatly enhanced my use of QGIS.
Glad it helped!

Glad it was helpful! Are you trying to map a relatively large area (with possibly multiple continents)? and what sort of a projection are you using?

Thank's so much !

@@geodeltalabs Sad there is no lazy solution. If they would just add a color-code or something to the attribution-table...but fine. Thank you :)
Excellent 😊
Thank you
I'm trying to use diva-gis to download the administrative boundary but it can't download
would be fun to try in python
Geoprocessing operations, yes. Map designing part, I think QGIS map layout could be much more convenient
