Hi Gaurav, one question after watching your interesting clip: some other practitioners recommend a "blind" method for selecting the representatives when someone wants to work on itself so that the client (especially ones that have studied and practiced intensively in the past on their issues) should be protected from the pitfall of being biased in placing the figures on the workspace. For example, if I have an already established emotional burden against one of my family members I would be biased and place it’s representative in a particular place / orientation on the worktable so I am “contaminating” the information field (especially if I already know some details about the meaning of figure position or orientation). So the blind method assumes that the self-practicing constellator writes beforehand the name of the representatives to be used on pieces of paper, folds them that are not visible, shuffles them, places them under the figures and then selects randomly the figures one after another and places them on the table without knowing who they represent. After that it takes notes about the 1-to-1 interactions between each of the figures, tunes them, repositions them, etc..in order to obtain the final healing image. Yes, one can certainly do blind constellations. I myself teach them. There are many forms and many models. Blind, open, double blind. Various forms of constellations. However, Hellinger, the founder of family constellations, never did one. He simply asked people to represent the family members. The countless examples of which can be found in his books like: Love’s Hidden Symmetry and Love’s Own Truth.
Practitioners approach constellations from a fearful or doubtful place when they haven’t read or studied the work of Hellinger properly.
