    This guy, along with Carl of Guitar Lessons 365, are my favorites. They’re able to take the somewhat difficult phrasings and chord progressions and make them easier to understand and play. Very instructive!

    Great idea vith the tabs! This lesson just needed "Eon Blue Apocalypse" as well, sice it's basically a prelude of "The Patient". As for me, I never play "The Patient" without "Eon Blue Apocalypse". But overall great job, buddy.

      1 question though.
      The 16:25 part of this video, part of the breakdown.
      You played it on the 7th fret.
      On your previous video, you played it on the 2nd fret, D & G string. Y the change? Is it Bcoz of the next part where you play the octave on the 14th fret?
      Which can be done also with your previous lesson where you just slide up from 2nd to 14th fret on the same strings with the same pattern.
      Just my opinion. Nothing against this new vid...

    Digging the new haircut! Usually the guitar can stand alone in Tool songs. Not really a fan of Jones guitar on this one. The song as a whole is great.

    • @axeofcreation
      @axeofcreation  6 років тому +3

      For sure! The Bass and Vocals play a big part in this one. The whole breakdown section is great and very "tool". Thanks!

    How those Kiesels, I'm big on the schecters 7's and I use the upper end Ibbys, but I was a Carvin fan until Kiesel stepped in, so if you can't give an honest opinion since they sponsor u PM me please

    • @axeofcreation
      @axeofcreation  6 років тому +1

      I have a custom schecter 7 I had made years ago. I've outgrown it as a player. No fault of the instrument, just the noob who picked out custom specs not knowing anything. Feels great when riffing out but for me, it stops there.
      I met Jeff and the gang when they were still Carvin. I would visit the shop and play everything. They were hit and miss. You'd grab one and it played and felt great, super fluid. Then I'd grab another and it had no mojo. I noticed a big change when they separated into Kiesel. Everything just felt better. The Aries model is efficient and fast. Very playable. Highly recommend. I'm a fan of Fender, just comfortable in my hands, so the Kiesel Bolt is killer, especially for the price point. I have a custom Vader and it's fucking awesome. Chambered body, resonant. Tone for days. Being an ibby guy, you'd probably like the Cresent/DC/Aries line. Thin neck profile. Very stable instruments, in my experience. You don't have to go nuts on specials woods, jacking up your price. Great bang for your buck.

      Appreciate the input I have a 1980 fender tele with dmarzio rails for pickups that I use for Tool love love love the tele necks but don't like the fact that it's very easy to squash the sound, so I will try some kiesels out, if you know any dealers in S Jersey b very cool, I will look up also just hoping it's not all "online garbage" thanks my dude been an avid listener for awhile

    good lesson but since you put the tab up is it necessary to verbalize the fret numbers?

    • @axeofcreation
      @axeofcreation  6 років тому +3

      Yes. I don't know at what point I'm going to lay over the tabs. Plus, they're only up for a moment, usually when I'm playing it, not teaching it.

    • @kilswitchengaged
      @kilswitchengaged 6 років тому

      axeofcreation it's all good. You do a great job of breaking the songs down but I tend to fast forward past the parts where you say what fret your fingers go.
      But I guess it is helpful for many people.
