I would say this would be one of the best suggestions for a good go anywhere do anything watch. Keep it rugged on the stainless or rubber strap. Dress it up with a brown or black leather, it really could do anything. I might just have to get it eventually

I bought an SPB143 and I honestly love it but sometimes it gives too much of a tool watch vibe.
This SRPE would have been a better purchase for me. I know it is cheaper but nothing wrong with that and it looks dressier. Only thing being a deal breaker for me is the crystal.
Ya Seiko being seiko, you can’t get a sapphire crystal at this price point. Wish that they could change that. This watch is more versatile as it can be both dressy and sporty.
I've been thinking of getting an SRPE51K1 for over 2 years now, I agree with you on this color difference between the day/ date and the dial, it also annoys me a bit. But since SRPE51K1 has a grey dial it is somehow acceptable to me..
BUT after watching your video I kinda wanna reconsider buying one, because of that gap between the crystal and the bezel that you mentioned.
Ya it’s a bit annoying to me but to me it’s not a dealbreaker. It’s still a beautiful watch with some flaws. Go for your heart man, I’m pretty sure there is a lot good watches in the market at this price point.

got a questions tho .. if i wanna adjust the time to one hour earlier , should I do it in counterclockwise or clockwise ( to turn crown) . Im afraid that it will damage the watch when i turn it in counterclockwise .
Always do it in a clockwise direction, counterclockwise it will damage the watch.
A pretty decent watch for people who know how to stay humble.
For me it's not a dress watch at all, just a sports watch with a slight field watch look. A Rolex explorer-like without beeing a ripoff but at a reasonable price but less the accuracy.
5 minutes a week is a lot of time drift ! Not goodenough for me. Especially for a Seiko even an entry level one. Seiko fives are overpriced in my country since the 10's but elsewhere it is still a good bang for bucks.
As far as I'm concerned, it has a polished bezel, that's why it's more of a dressy watch and sports watch (diver indices). Ya, time accuracy is not the best on the Seiko 5 watches in general, if you want accuracy then go with quartz watches. Which is also cheaper (like Casio). With that being said, thanks for your comment!

its the most beautiful watch EVER made. Aside from the number ring not lining up to the hour markers on dial, This watch speically in Gold edges is sooooooooooooooosoooooo beautiful.

Clockwise or counterclockwise…
I’m guessing you are talking about setting the day and date. This is how you do it.
Turn the crown away from you to move the hands forward. Keep moving until the date and day change to the current date. This will sync your watch to the AM time.
If you are setting the time for PM, turn the hands past 12 o’clock and into the afternoon. If you go past the time you want to set, turn the crown towards you to move the hands back.
Push the crown back in to resume the seconds hand.
