Thank you for all the love with this final part - it was such an emotional episode - I was exhausted after I stopped recording, but it was well worth it!
watching women game-play is so interesting the dept of emotion is richer , deeper it also demand much better games and better characters emotionally , which is certainly for the best
I've watched a frankly embarrassing number of these playthroughs (only way to relieve the experience is seeing someone else go through it and all that) and I'm always a little disappointed when the player doesn't understand the last panel in Kratos' journey. You understood immediately and your reaction was almost cathartic for an observer who was also very touched by the ending that Kratos has been given. Thanks for the great episodes. It's been awesome to watch.
You’re most welcome Tyson. It’s wonderful you got to enjoy the moment again. I actually went searching for other reactions, excited to see what other people made of it, but I was so shocked, most just stared at it!? Then I thought, shit, didn’t I misinterpret it? But after checking, it was what I thought. And to me, the most perfect ending. The whole game is mainly focused on Atreus, but then bang, right at the end they remind you that actually, this is Kratos’ journey.
I have also watched an embarrassing amount of streams, close to a dozen now. Nat you had the exact same reaction I did. I held it together until that moment. Ive been with Kratos since 2005 and im a Dad now. The Norse games hit on such a deep emotional level. I bawl like a baby everytime I hear Raebs Lament play during Broks funeral.
Oh if I had only stopped at a dozen... I believe I have watched nearly ALL of the playthroughs on YT, and yes, most people just stare at the ending and not get it. Most are streamers who had this beautiful game robbed from them as they interacted with chat. If you don't lose grip of your feelings during this game, you are dead inside, or distracted by chat, lol. Congrats!
Thanks Super Beast. That's really thoughtful. It is definitely hard splitting the brain if you stream a story driven game. I'm very glad I kept this one for myself - even if I did cry 5 times!!
It such a beautiful crescendo to the whole journey. I'd only played 2018, but even that was enough to move me to uncontrollable tears! I'm glad you got to enjoy a very good ending - and many congratulations on becoming a Dad too!!
From destroyer to rebuilder From God of war to God of peace Wow… The ending where kratos sees himself being worshipped made him cry because he never thought he would be loved or worshipped ever again.
Finally seeing someone who instantly gets the meaning of Kratos last panel. Your reaction to it moved me too, as the scene itself moved me in the first place. Thank you so much, only watched a few episodes of your walkthrough, but I will be following you from now on!
Thanks for commenting Captain Krabz and letting me know I wasn't alone - starting to think I was the odd one out with how emotional I got. It was a perfect ending to the whole saga. I look forward to chatting more in the comments in the future :)
Al fin alguien que comprendió de inmediato el mural de kratos siendo venerado.... Yo también lloré mucho, y más por que crecí con este personaje. Saludos a un Gran abrazo
I love the fact that you understood the final panel as someone who has been with kratos since the first game that panel broke me. I loved your reaction, it showed me you understood it and im gratefull. I have seen so many people just stare at that panel or be like so what does this means and it ruins the entire run for me. So you are AWESOME.
It was a super special moment in the game, glad to have shared it. I appreciate the comment, at first I was feeling like the odd one out because not many seem to be as emotional as I was!! It sounds like you really enjoyed the ending too Vishnu :)
Kratos finally getting closure from his panel made me happy. He’s lived such a shitty life and for him to get a statue of him with others worshiping him is amazing.
It's really nice that after everything it comes back to him right at the end, so everyone get's closure, it also really makes me want to play the old games now!
Going through multitudes of UA-cam playthroughs and not very many people react to kratos breaking down his iron fast walls. The moment I saw it I bursted it here and had to pause. Thank you for your playthrough. It was excellent
You're welcome, and I appreciate the time to comment. I wondered if it was only me at that point needing a moment - it's such a fitting ending to the journey.
Odin: what do you know of Godhood? can you even imagine that type of love? Kratos fought and suffered for so long... he never thought he'd be a god ppl praise. fricken love this
tbh me too! because he proved worthy of his godhood by his redemption, being a good father.taking things into consideration without resorting to anger almost instantly like he used to, constantly reminded and fully aware of his past mistakes... i was like 9 when the first GOW came out, so growing up seeing how Kratos evolved into this cool, calm, collective person, with even greater strength held dormant is cool af@@PhoenixNat
I cried in every game I played but I know that if I played ragnarok I would cry and surprisingly I didn’t . But I felt kratos heart and connection on a deeper level .
Love how you included Blood Upon the Snow at the end. Some other songs I love to pair with this game are Twilight of the Thunder God by Amon Amarth (I prefer the cover by Rage of Light). Valhalla Calling by Miracle of Sound (Trio version). They also have some God of War songs.
I just love how the "blood upon the snow" in the end can be understood as a metaphor of Kratos' tatoos on his ashed skin, the memory of violence and evil that he will bear forever, but one that does not define him.
(Touching your shoulder in comfort even though it’s a memory) You know I guess one person who has faith can make a difference just as much as the person who wants to redeem himself. 🙌Nuff said.
Hi Nat. I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your play through. I sincerely enjoyed it. Two things stood out to me. You immediately recognized Odin’s death scene as the scene from the Jotunheim mural. You gave me chills. Also, you understood the significance of the last panel of the secret shrine. I was truly touched by your reaction. Thank you for sharing you experience playing the game with all of us.
☺️ thank you Wayne. You’re very welcome, it’s been a lot of fun sharing the playthrough, and that final moment just brought so much closure, the perfect ending 🙏🏼

@@PhoenixNat yeah id say just about same even if they decide to not make anymore GOW games then i’m content with it. It truly feels finale story arc for Kratos, reached to it’s conclusion.
I have been with you through the entire God of War experience. Now that we've reached the end I'm just as speechless as you are. It is very emotional. I personally have a hard time watching that scene. Like I've said this series is a bittersweet ending. I did enjoy it all the way through but I can't help but be a little sad that it came to an end. You had the best reaction of everyone I've watched.
Some of the scene's are very potent, and so many of the themes are around loss. Thanks for watching along Cadence, it's been such good fun and I've enjoyed reading your thoughts and comments along the way :)
you are the only player that cried like me when we see Kratos looking at the last painting being worshiped. This part hits hard. I played the first game in high school in 2005. Seeing this finale is crazy. "The God of Hope" after all he is been through
@1:12:51 You are the first creator I've seen who actually recognized Odin dying is the mural in Jotenheim when he falls into Atreus' lap. Everyone else was too focused on the soul part. Good job!
Oh damn, really?! It could be because I finished 2018 a week before Ragnarok came out, so it's pretty fresh in the mind - but I really liked that moment - it just showed how much we can assume and then believe wholeheartedly and then be very wrong, or let that belief guide our actions.
I could be wrong and its a small detail that doesn't matter but the path that his soul moves from body to marble is the same as well. It made me appreciate the misdirection in the mural that it was a serpent(Jormungandr).
Yaaaaaaay!!! Can almost feel Nat curling her toes almost all through the Cutscenes How do you feel 🙂 Having to watch yourself growth in strength and skill over the months It sure is an outstanding feeling - and your reactions!!!!!!!!!!!!! Priceless!
After I finished, super exhausted, so much crying, and adrenaline from all the fights! And now, I'm missing the game, although I know there's lots more still to play, I want to save it so I can return and enjoy another 20 hours haha.
I don't know if you noticed but Sindri was using Brok's hammer and sword in the final battle. It is also ironic that the event that caused Odin's death was not all his crimes but the murder of Brok. When he killed Brok he put Sindri on the path that ended him once and for all. Remember Kratos and company were content to leave him trapped in the soul marble. It was Sindri that killed Odin, with Brok's hammer no less. The writing in this game is absolute top notch. In the first 3 games Kratos was the player character, but he was never a hero. In the past 2 games they took a destroyer of worlds and the embodiment of vengeance and turned him into an avatar for justice and rebuilding. BRAVO Santa Monica Studios..................BRAVO!!!!! .
From the myth the emotional sledgehammer I was waiting for 4 years was, Baldur was supposed to come back after Ragnarok to become the new and better Odin
Ohhhh! Now that would have been interesting. I guess they had to cut the story somewhere. I'd heard they are done with this arc now and won't explore the Norse myth anymore.
You’re right!! I’ve watching it back in slowmo, I think it’s the point where the runic ends it just catches it - but yeah, it should have hit me!? The freeze frame looks really cool though 😎
Contrary to what many say, I think Kratos is still, ultimately, a God of War. But, much like Athena was associated with warfare as well as wisdom and crafts, Kratos can be so much *more* than that. He will be the God of justice, of reconstruction and compromise. He was the God of hateful war. Of merciless slaughter, vainglorious conquest and personal vengeance at all costs. Now? A God of righteous war. Of protection, preservation of justice, and an arbiter of peace. Not unlike what Tyr was described as in GoW 2018. He is the mournful soldier who does not wish to take up arms. Who will offer you every chance to withdraw your desire for conflict and to seek a resolution. Who will implore those who seek conflict with him, time and time again, to please, PLEASE, choose peace... because they will not win the war. Kratos will never regret the war he brings to his enemies ever again. He will only regret when they do not leave him another choice.
Amazing game!!! Please do visit Niflheim one last time. Something new opens up there!! Also, the answer to the riddle - hole - sort of refers to the hole in Sindri's heart - empty and devoid of emotion for others.
I have a guess as to what is there/will happen - there's still some lose ends to tie up! I'm going to wait so it can kick off more gameplay with more side quests :) Thanks for all the support with GoW Anurag!

The moment Kratos said “I was wrong” to atreus, that he should open his heart, that was the moment he changed his fate. That’s my theory at least.
