With a huge smile on my face. All my favorite tracks have large elevation changes from my past doing amateur road racing. But I wouldn’t put Oran Park on that list. I’m talking about tracks like Road Atlanta, Watkins Glen, Sears Point, Spa, and especially the old Bridgehampton circuit. But as others have said, OP is definitely tricky. What little elevation change there is is definitely challenging.
I agree, flat tracks like Silverstone are not as fun as tracks with elevation like Brands Hatch or Spa. I just find OP to be particularly difficult, maybe because it's so narrow as well...
It was fun to watch these battles on the back. It reminds me of a bit of my own rookie races. I'm usually pretty much on the back from a tempo point of view, but somehow I can keep it on track in the first few laps, then I have to push and defend to keep the faster, first-corner-carnage guys behind. Sometimes I can. :D Can I ask you, what kind of pedals are you using? I'm planning to move up from my cheapo Thrustmaster pedals to a loadcell one. Maybe it would be nice if you could make a video where you show your setup.
David mentioned in a comment under a previous video that he is using Heusinkveld pedals. I don't know if they are the Ultimates or the Sprints. I own the Sprints myself and am very happy with them. Much adjustability overall so plenty of options to adjust them to your liking. But the choice in loadcell pedals these days is large. I would advise you to visit the channel of Boosted Media. He has a lot of very good pedals reviews. By the way, I'm sure David will pop in to answer your question. He seems to react to every comment ;-).

I have Heusinkveld Sprints that I bought 2nd hand from Dave Cam about 3 years ago. They are the best thing i've bought for sim racing and have needed zero maintenence or thought since I installed them. I was thinking about doing a new rig tour, so I will pull one together in the next few weeks
Oran park is deceptively tricky. Looks basic when you watch others race it but it's hard to make it all tie together when youre out there. Great track though i have spent most of my time on iracing so far on there with the 1600s. By the way, i noticed your spotter tells you your laptimes every time you conplete a lap. How do you make that happen?
I use the spotter built into iRacing, I think it's one of the options on that I have ticked but I would have to look next time im on to see which one it is

This is a great track, you will love it once you have raced it a few times.

I believe there is an option in the iRacing settings to put the spotter on chatty, giving you more feedback.
Yes there is, I have mine set to the highest level of chattness
Consider a slightly wider approach to the straight, delaying the apex. This may allow you to achieve higher top speed more quickly.

I just need to practice more to build confidence and find those last few tenths, they must be out there somewhere.......
