Since everything rf2 related is new to me, this video is just what I needed. Many people, me included are rediscovering rf2 due to the successful attempt by the developers to revive it. Literally every tip in the video was valuable. 🏆 Thanks a lot!
No problem at all, I thought someone would find it useful. I did forget a couple of things. You can flat spot your tyres and you will feel it in FFB, also you can blow your engine if you overheat with a setup change (radiator) or forget to up shift. Glad it helped. Thanks for watching. I'm racing RF2 online now its fantastic!
Thanks for this guide. I had been thinking of trying Rfactor2 for a long time but had been put off on hearing it wasn’t easy to set up. I bought it on Steam as it was less than £6 and your guide was a great help. I just tried a BTCC AI race at Donington and it was very enjoyable. Thanks again.
Welcome to the club! Once you are setup it's straight forward most of the time after that. I love the BTCC cars (see my previous videos). Thanks for watching
Thanks. The part about not starting everything up before going into rFactor 2 has got me a few times. I forget to turn my wheel on and find that it helpfully has mapped the steering to an axis on my flight sim throttle quadrant :D
I’ve got 4000 hours invested in this title and frankly yes it needs a little tweaking, but if you’ve got it dialled in right I have yet to have any other game give me the same car feel. I have most all other titles for PC but this is my go to because of the driving feel more than anything else
You cam also, as I have done, write a basic batch file to start up all the necessary programs you need for each sim. That way, you can't forget to open any!
I definitely agree. It should default to all cars all tracks that should be default. As far as the loading time goes I got a very strong computer. And yes it does take a while to load but the trade-off I believe is a superior handling but just my opinion.
@solidious3399 use fanatec recommended as a starting point, then in game feedback strength 100% and the car multiplier start around 70/80% adjust for feel per car.
Great video !!! I'm trying with no success to have physical mirrors working properly. I cannot see anything. Can you tell me how did you get them to work fine?
Mirrors are a bit lucky dip in RF2 you can adjust pitch/zoom something like SHIFT+CTRL+ (try a Google search) side mirrors are mostly useless. It's not easiest thing to sort. Rfactor2 things! Thanks for watching
I can't say I've tried it, but I would think you will need to buy the game before you can subscribe to workshop content. However no harm in trying it. Tha ks for watching
Is there any way, in game, to map "return to pits" to a wheel button? I race in VR as well and my keyboard isn't very accessible. I've got most other things figured out but I can't find anywhere that I can (essentially) map the "escape" key to a wheel button without using a third piece of software
I've been on RF2 this morning and I've had a look at assigning a button "back to pit" it appears you cannot. I would be scared of that button on my wheel.
Yes I run x4 I think. Depends if things like fences flicker. I normally turn it up a bit more. Yes but minimal. I only set this per game it's disabled in nvidia settings
@@closetsimracer i gave it a shot. its pretty damn good lol as of now i only own the tcr and 1 gt3. the ffb and road feel plus tire model is SO GOOD! but.... i cant rotate any car on brake for whatever reason. on throttle rotation is there. brake rotation and trail braking seems super odd. now i only have a few days with it so i cant be so quick to say anything but as of now it feels pretty damn good.
@doot6516 honestly it's just practice with it, depends what you drove before too. Move brake bias rearward and increase brake pressure may help. Most detach rear anti roll bar too seems to help.
Rfactor 2 devs must stupidest ones of the whole industry !! They make an easy game to install but you got a useless empty app. I thought i had to buy all the content and they re pretty expensive, thanks to you, you saved my experience…but there so many other things that confuse me, online session for instance, and particularly vr settings, unlike what you said, when i change the display resolution, it changes the actual resolution within the headset !!! Rfactor 2 is the only vr game that does that ! If i put the res at 4k, i got a big menu screen standing in front of me like a building, and if i lower the res the menu become smaller but everything else is blurry, even in game session ! Is it better to launch the game with openxr from steam, or with vrtoolkit from rfactor setting app, in this cass do i need to install vrtoolkit or does it come with the app ? On quest3 does not look as good as other games…even at high res.
I'm glad I could help in one way! Not sure on your resolution issue, I use oculus tray tool to sort my supersampling in the headset. I would advise going to RF2 discord they are very helpful in sorting these things out. Thanks for watching.

Thanks, new to sim racing and just got RF2, so super helpful
no problem at all, glad it could help and the whole point of the video. Thanks for watching

thanks for this guide! Helped me alot. I really like rFactor 2 force feed back and tire models.
no problem at all, thank you for watching
I love how detailed the FFB in rf2 is!
I didn't even know my wheel could do the things it does in this game/sim
I cannot disagree with you, I love a bit of RF2 and always will just wish I could race more people more often.
Excellent. Thank you so much. A really worth while and informative watch. Cheers.
Thank you for watching, I'm glad it was helpful.
rF2 is best sim ever made!
It's certainly up there I can not disagree

Thanks for watching and I'm pleased it has helped. Anything I've missed or you'd like to know just shout up always looking for video ideas.
Thanks for the vids , a great help to a new Rf2 player . Got yourself a Sub.
Appricate that thank you
FYI I redownloaded it this week and it installed all the tracks and cars just from installing the base game.
I'd assume you were still subscribed to the workshop items, so it downloaded all that would be my guess. Thanks for watching

A batch file is a good solution for this. I've used them before but don't currently. Thanks for watching
Ugh the mirrors. They’re such a pain to adjust. Any tips on that? Especially ones with center monitor.
I only ever adjust the rear one, side ones are as you say a pain. Google RF2 mirror adjustment you will get all the button combos. Thanks for watching

I think you are right, minor issue but one that could confuse someone new to the sim. Thanks for watching 👍
This was excellent thank you! I must try the tyre and brake force things 😉
Glad I could help, Just lowered the brake force until you get where you want to be. Thank you for watching.
I've just got back into this sim but can't get my Fanatec csl dd pro feeling any good got any tips

I just bought this game and it actually asked if i wanted to install all of the official stuff when i launched it. They must be listening. Lol
We will take that as a win, at least they give you the option been a long time since I actually installed the game
hello! I was wondering: can I subscribe to the content before downloading the game to drive the cars when I run rFactor?
I can't say I've tried it, but I would think you will need to buy the game before you can subscribe to workshop content. However no harm in trying it. Tha ks for watching
Saw ur logo and was sold
I'll take that, first time anyone has mentioned it. Thanks for watching.
It’s hilarious! 😅
Can you show your in game graphics settings please? 😊
Take a look at my latest video, I show all my graphic settings.
Great stuff! Can anyone recommend a specify laptop model for this please?
Most modern laptops will work fine with this, however if you want VR you will need higher end of graphics card.

you can map an alternate ESC key under assign controls>gameplay
@@atoysruskid can you tell me exactly the name of the option that does this? I may be an idiot but I couldn't find it.
@@viperion_nz sorry - just saw this. i believe it's called alternate ESC. in the far right column under gameplay.
@@atoysruskid Yes! Thank you
Do you turn anti aliasing off for VR?
Yes I run x4 I think. Depends if things like fences flicker. I normally turn it up a bit more. Yes but minimal. I only set this per game it's disabled in nvidia settings
I would spend time with this game if it had custom champioship
I'm sure there is probably a mod somewhere. It's never something I've used, never been a deal breaker for me. Thanks for watching
google it, because it does - i just cant remember how i did it
im on the fence of trying it. im a regular ac iracing guy but everyones telling me rf2 is going to become the next big thing
100% try it, wait until steam sale and pick it up. Once the FFB is dialled in nothing comes close.

I have to go in and re do my wheel settings every time I load into a race. Just click the profile but still what the fuck
That's a very odd issue are you selecting the same paint? Head to RF2 discord if problem continues they may be able to help.

Bro who has the ability to do fkn setups for every single fkn car!
A good sim should have presets for every car available.
Some.reason only just seen this, yes rfactor2 things. I find the things I show will see you through most scenarios
Soooooooo many rFactor2 things, could be such a good sim. Just needs simplifying by the devs. Absolute ball ache of a game
It can be a right pain, but once you nail it and understand its flaws, it really is a great sim. Also, part of the reason I made this video.
