Pronouncing just the letter "H", ie., I'm not talking about when it's used in a word, I'm referring to when you are instructing your listeners to press "H" as a shortcut to hide objects - it's pronounced with a silent H, so the pronunciation is actually a long "A" sound like in the words "age" or "ape". So phonetically you would say "aayy-chh" - kind of like saying "age" with a "ch" sound at the end. You are pronouncing it with a hard H, like someone saying the word "Hay" with a "ch" at the end. I hope that makes a little sense. Your English otherwise is great! And the tutorials have been a big help!
Hey man can you make a video about comparing 3D modeling CGI ect. softwares? I decided to start 3ds max and houdini but i just saw Blender which made me get rid of any other programs and learn it. I feel like i'll stick to blender and improve myself on Blender. If you make a video talking about them that will be awesome.
I don't think I know 3dsMax or C4D in enough detail to really make a comparison. If you're just getting into it, I doubt it makes much of a difference what you use - given Blender is FREE that'd be my choice to get into it and feature wise it's pretty much on par with other 3D software applications out there

Why is it that my Materials properties area looks nothing like the one on screen? Instead it has multiple drop downs: Diffuse, Specular, Shading, Transparency, Mirror, Subsurface Scattering, and like 6 others. On screen there are simply Custom, Preview, Surface, and Settings. I also can't seem to find out the solution anywhere else as to why this is happening. Quite frustrating honestly.
Great video. I am new to blender and having problems trying to giving things a actual size in inches for 3D printing. How would you give your a size. Something like your hollow box to be 3" wide 1" height, 1" front to back, and a wall thickness of .100". There are a lot of blender videos out there, but I haven't seen anybody giving there projects any dimensions. They just randomly size things. Do you have any videos that give actual detentions of something that can be 3d printed, using inches with blender.
Thanks! Unfortunately I've never done any 3D printing so I'm likely not the. best person to give advise on that. You can however configure your. units in Blender to make sure things are a very specific size - how that maps to your 3D printer then I am not sure though
The most viewed and liked video would be the one when you give us tutorial to composite 3d animated models into live video.....Like Shutter authority and some other do. Waiting for that day🤔
I have a full 3D Integration tutorial series on my channel already - ua-cam.com/video/DUjStJWr_wg/v-deo.html I will be making something similar for Blender sometime too, just want to go over all the basics first
Very helpful tips I like that. Will you make the tutorial for beginners to setting up lights and make it realistic I mean interior realistic lighting setup ? If you make the tutorial then it would be helpful for me
Thank you very much for the feedback! That's a good idea, though I'm not sure I'd have the skills to set up a realistic interior lighting setup - but I'll put the idea onto my list of things to get to eventually :D
@@SurfacedStudio I've one more question that is, any low requirements of laptop can be able to use blender??? I mean *32bit AMD Sempron (tm) SI-42 2.10GHz. *1gb ram *1366×765 display *OpenGL 3.1 ATI 3200 graphics with 256mb ram
Thanks for this great tutorial. But i have one question regarding the Shader options on materials. I am using Blender 2.79 but in the materials option i did not have the option "Surface" to choose gloomy and so on. Where can i find that ? For your info, under the material slot i have a menu bar "Surface | Wire | Volume | Halo". I checked all these topics but i can not find the options to choose surfaces.
Great tutorial. But..... Is there really no easier way to assign materials to an object. Would it be better to create multiple objects, one for the wood lide, one for the metal band on the lid etc. It seems very tedious to have to go and select the individual faces in order to apply a different material
Where did you get the music for the beginning and ending of the video? If you made it are you going to give us a link to listen to this awesome music piece?
Aaaw thanks! It's just something simple I created using some samples from producerloops :) Unfortunately there's no link to it, it's just a simple loop I use as the background track for my tutorials - though I've just recently switched it out since I've been using it for so long haha!

You're welcome :)
I love this tutorial. I'm super dumb yet I understood them!
Thank you very much for the comment :D
surfaced studio is one of my most viewed channel's :)
:D
Hey man can you make a video about comparing 3D modeling CGI ect. softwares? I decided to start 3ds max and houdini but i just saw Blender which made me get rid of any other programs and learn it. I feel like i'll stick to blender and improve myself on Blender. If you make a video talking about them that will be awesome.
I don't think I know 3dsMax or C4D in enough detail to really make a comparison. If you're just getting into it, I doubt it makes much of a difference what you use - given Blender is FREE that'd be my choice to get into it and feature wise it's pretty much on par with other 3D software applications out there
Thank you very much
You're welcome
great tutorial!
Thanks man!
Sometimes I press “material” and some colors on my model show up, but some stay gray/white. How do I fix this?
Great Tutorial!
Thank you!
you are the best teacher
Ah nonsense! Glad you're enjoying my videos though!

Very clear. A 2.8n update would be great... maybe it already exists.
Thank you! Gotta do an update for 2.8 at some point, just haven't found the time yet :)
I have the same problem here, probably there is different versions, for me I downloaded it this month,I hope if someone replies
Tarek Medhat it has to do with which Render you're using at the very top center of the screen.
Yes,it was (blender render)then I changed to(cycles render)& it worked like the video,thank sooo much Chris :) :)
Because you are in Cycles Render.
Awesome mate
Thanks man!
I saw your ad in the start of the video!! Lol!!
LOL
Sooo Cool!!
:D
Waiting for that day🤔
I have a full 3D Integration tutorial series on my channel already - ua-cam.com/video/DUjStJWr_wg/v-deo.html I will be making something similar for Blender sometime too, just want to go over all the basics first
Surfaced Studio But in that 3d integration We need to add some models with our animations like moving Robot
*1gb ram *1366×765 display
*OpenGL 3.1 ATI 3200 graphics with 256mb ram
Thanks for this great tutorial. But i have one question regarding the Shader options on materials. I am using Blender 2.79 but in the materials option i did not have the option "Surface" to choose gloomy and so on. Where can i find that ? For your info, under the material slot i have a menu bar "Surface | Wire | Volume | Halo". I checked all these topics but i can not find the options to choose surfaces.
again... one of the best blender tutorials!
Thank you so much for the great comment!
Thank u
You're welcome!
Thank you very much for this tutorial. However, I want to go on to the next one but can't find it! (the node workflow / working with the node editor).
You're welcome! I don't have one on the Node/Shader editor (yet). The next one in this beginner series is on creating animation :) ua-cam.com/video/GM1Fc-NTDsg/v-deo.html
@@SurfacedStudio I appreciate the response. I'm personally not into animating (as I'm sure some others aren't too), but I've been following your material/texturing tutorials and it's never been so easy to learn Blender. Please do continue the tutorials again whenever you can
I will release more Blender tutorials soon :) And hopefully at some point rebuild my beginner series for version 2.8
Hello, great tutorial! I wonder why the material preview doesn't show on User Persp View in Solid Mode. The view in Rendered Mode updates like in the movie, but in Solid Mode nothing's happening. What am I doing wrong? Please help! :-)
Solid Mode does not show materials. Switch to Materials view if you want to see them :)
Thank you very much. Now everything works fine. :-)
Nice tutorial....
Thank you!
