This is true. I’m 21, regardless of my training, I’ve continued to jump higher and higher. This year, I’ve been dunking so easy, throwing windmills down easy and very close to eastbaying and I’m 5’10” (I basically can, I just need to get the motion down). I started jumping very often after taking a long break from basketball and now I have Achilles tendinitis. I never had a problem until now with it. Every now and again my patella tendons flares up but mainly my Achilles now.
I'm 17 turning 18 in less than 2 months and all I do is jumping when I'm doing sports my main sport is volleyball but I'm currently doing basketball which I just played against a team that beat us 12-54 last week then today we still lost to the same team again but the score was 33-57 so my team did better by 18 points mainly because we took a lot of charges I did the tip off against someone that was abt 6'2 which I'm pretty sure I was close to being at his max jump and I was going for rebounds but now I'm super soar so luckily I can take it easy for 2 weeks
@@DiddyDisciple1 ah then it's around the time not not jump everyday to avoid knee pains. I assume u hoop as well? Its time to train weights and have bball days and just 1 jump days to train for technique
@ Ok thanks. My current workout (I just started) is bbal and max jumping on 4 days and weight lifting on 3 days a week. Maybe I should go easier on jumping. It seems like all these athletes are always saying to jump more though.
@DiddyDisciple1 u jump more if u can handle it. The problem is when u start to get to certain vertical like u are now and u are playing basketball on top of it your knees doesnt it that much. Sure your vert gonna go up from training but your knees gonna say f u after awhile. Isiah mentioned this as well cause he would be getting knee pain around this time ( your age) since he would have bball practice then come home and dunk along with having lifts. Lol Thats why I ask your vert and your other exercises like bball and lifts. If u only jump and not lift with no ball like jordan kilganon younger self u can do it. But u wanna hoop and lift too so volume adds up. Better to not get to the knee pain at all so u dont have to waste time rehab. U can just always progress. The longer u can stay healthy the more chances u can improve. If u injured u cant gain vert lol
Hey, I'm 220 pounds 6ft 3. I want to be able to jump off one, but my right knee hurts when i dunk. My left side is stronger despite me being right handed, so i learned how to use two hands.
I trained vert every day for a few months and by the end my muscles were so worn out I started jumping lower
Thats when u deload😅😅😅
Thats me dude...im 16 yo 30 inches vert... Now its decrease lol but im so obsessed with jumping so im not stopping
@@VladimirVladsia good luck with knee pains lol

@@VladimirVladsia exactly the same situation but I’m 15
