Humble is the most important word. Kids these days are so cocky…and do not have the talent to show for it. This 3rd grader does, however. His parents must do what they can to make him realize that there is always someone better than him- though, at his age, that would be hard to find. Still…you can get someone older and just have him learn that this is life. There will be someone who is taller than him, stronger than him and better than him. It’s best to keep a level head and think of new ways to beat the taller, bigger people, that’s all- and stay humble. People will respect that even more.
Honestly it freaks me out whenever I see a young kid this talented. I just know this kids dad or mom was a Bball player that never quite made it and has been training their kid insanely hard since he was like 2 years old
Kason, keep up the hard work. The Miami heat players would be excited to have you in their roster right now. They need all the help they can get. Your mazing kid. Good job to your parents for all their commitment and love.
yeah - his left hand layup was impressive … He was definitely favouring his right with the dribble though - surprising given his left hand layup… but hey, it’s hard to criticise the kid he’s not a complete product -- yet … Not bloody far off though … just hope he stays grounded, humble and keeps working hard, or none of it will even matter …
AV is just telling the truth. I am 60 and played basketball in high school AND college- won awards in each. In high school, Mrs. LeClaire took me off the floor - and I didn’t know why. At halftime, she ripped me a new one in front of the whole team. Now, I was quiet and shy way back then, however, I was in a foul mood that day. Mrs. LeClaire was right…I was out of line and I should NOT be talking back to anyone like that, certainly not a referee. I was just so embarrassed- and I did learn a valuable lesson- and I have never forgotten about it. Kids these days- they don’t respect authority, do not respect others and do not respect anyone besides themselves. So, KingzFN, those kids who are playing at such a young age…they should be learning about RESPECT. They should be learning about helping out their teammates. They should also learn at that age, if you foul someone and they are really hurt, go over and make sure that they are okay. That shows your sportsmanship. Have respect for the other team…but, of course you want to win! You CAN do both. Lastly, don’t leave a flippant response to someone who is older and obviously wiser than you. Please show an elder respect. That IS the difference between your generation and his/hers. You had absolutely no problem disrespecting AV. Think before you speak/write a comment. Again, please show respect for your elders.
Wow, the DMV Hoop Session Show on SASNTV is the perfect platform to showcase talented high school basketball players in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area!
We really aren’t teaching our kids how to have humility anymore, we have gotten too cocky and braggy as a society, it’s crazy. Young boy can hoop, I just hope his folks get him in line
He can shoot and dribble extremely well. But I really liked seeing his passing. He is always dribbling with his head up looking for other players. Really young players don't usually have such good passing instincts.
I can layup, I'm taller than all of them and Better than all, But I think that kid will grow as a NBA Player SuperStar, Can't Wait to see these kids at the Future

He's 9 yo people, lots of things will change I absolutely hate the smack, chest thumping, fist pumping bullshit. Keeping them confident, but grounded is the parents job. Unfortunately, most parents r worse than the kids. ESPECIALLY PARENT COACHES
The guy is incredible. Very good. What it would be in the future? It would be exciting. Very good baskethands. He and the other boys has big hands. They have much bigger hands than what I have. My hand is fit in theys palm. They have big giants hands compared to mine.
The biggest issue here is how kids today behave. This is insanely terrible behaviour, and not normal for a kid this age. We need to teach our kids to have humility and not think too highly of themselves. This is key, otherwise when life’s inevitable troubles come their way, they won’t be able to handle it. Don’t tolerate young kids showboating, taunting, disrespecting their opponents, and making fools of themselves in public.
Everyone should read the book Outliers, and plan their kids birth date so that they’re one of the older (and thus bigger) kids on the team. 6 months is a big difference in development when you’re 9
now to just keep this kid humble is going to be a challenge
Exactly! He already got a big head and is a ball hog!

The one con with young hoopers is they have to be humble or else it will come back to bite them. I know this because I am a suns fan 😂😂

Him and that #7 Shaq dude make a lethal combo.
I’m 50. If we danced around and flexed our muscles our coach would sit our ass on the bench.
They are only nine years old and already "stuck-up". This is a very American trait. That's why the NBA's best come from Europe :) (Luka and Jokic)
