The funny part is there is a small minority that actually try and actively write to their MPs to get bacon banned from their local stores, lol. Not surprising considering extremely religious nuts will try and ban anything. Remember when christians in the US pushed hard to ban pokemon because some random preacher said it was demonic? Or when Hindus pushed to ban beef in their home country (and actually succeeded... people currently get beaten for buying and selling it)

Ethnicity is not the same as nationality.
Religion is not the same as Race.
Muslims are NOT a race of people. They are a religion. Any Race can be Muslim.
Also, anyone can be born in britian and be British by nationality but not white (native) British as it is a ethnicity.
Muslims don't categorise by ethnicity or nationality but by religion. Hence the comment. I can't count the times Muslim kids ask me if I am Muslim. This means, are you one of us or one of them. The first group of children seemed to think it's oo for them to be prejudist but not the other way around. Ignorance and bigotry works both ways. They are all supposed to be British yet some of them hesitated referring to themselves as British. It would be more interesting to explore that.
They never consider themselves as British, unless they have shove it in your face when it's convenient. They consider themselves muslim first of all but when confronted that they don't assimilate they state they are born here, thus they are British. The hate towards anything European/ British/ Christian is very real in their community
British identity is not really pushed, outside of perhaps the Michaela school in London. It's a shame - having a unifying identity would be positive.
