Oh wow. That's a ton of folks. Thanks for the time stamps.
Like I said too many legends to mention hahaha
An audience with,, was great in the 80s .. I definitely remember this one with Billy Connolly..
You can get the whole show on UA-cam!
I think it's the best comedy routine I've ever seen, & I go back to watch it over again, every couple of years! 🤣
Another great one in the series stars Kenneth Williams, who began as a serious actor, but became probably the funniest man in British radio & films, of the 50's & 60's, as well as a fantastic chatshow guest, & raconteur! 🤣
A lot of them dead.
Don't you just hate when the video ends... and you know what comes next. The part where the guy goes to empty his underwear. Pure comedy gold!
Whoooooooooosh!!! 🌊😂
Yeah I thought that was one of the best bits in the sketch but it was left out in the American showing of it. So very funny.
I remember seeing an interview with a friend of Billy's ,Billy invited him to one of his concerts (I think at the Sidney opera House )Billy said come both nights if you want ,his friend said "well i would know all the jokes on the second night "Billy promised him that it would be completely different with no material the same as the first night. The friend said he went both nights 2 hour shows each night completely different material without a script. Billy Connolly is a ledgend.
Ahem ... koff koff ...That's "Sydney".
Saw this for the first time back in the eighties, jeeze it was so funny, I don't think I have ever laughed so hard. My mum had tears running down her face, my dad couldn't breathe and yes, I damned near pissed myself laughing. What made it extra funny was the celebrity audience laughing along. Pure comic genius!!😂😂😂🇬🇧
The World's funniest story teller..bar none...no script he just starts talking and he has no idea where it is going to take him....a true Scottish genius..
The worlds greatest comedian.
Went on stage with no script or staged comedy. Just himself with his life stories.. thats what makes him so funny 😆
@Wayne Anthony Holmes How is Billy Connolly not a comedian..
He didn't tell jokes? What 😳
Actually, incredibly carefully scripted. Connolly's genius was to make it sound natural and off the cuff
@Wayne Anthony Holmes What's also not difficult to understand is a comedian doesn't specifically have to tell fabricated jokes to be a comedian. Anybody can learn jokes then go & repeat them on a stage. But not just anybody can go up on stage, easily have the arena packed full for several nights, & have everybody in there in fits of laughter by telling life observing stories... Definition of 'Comedian'?... 'an entertainer on stage or television whose act is designed to make an audience laugh.'
@@AD270479 I couldn't of said it any better pal 👏 👌
Billy did have a script, he just often went offscript in tangents that were hilarious.
I just Loved the
" What's your sign"
" Sagittarius, half man, half horse..
licence to shit in the street"
Cracks me up every time
That was a chic Murray joke
from "an Audience with Billy Connolly". The day after they showed this on tv for the first time, everybody was talking about it. You should watch the entire show if you have time :)
Sir Ken Dodd, one of the best loved comics in UK history, appeared twice, on 'an audience with......'!
Some say that he had waaay too much material for just one show!! 🤣🤣
He was famous for over-running his comedy shows, as he just couldn't stop with the funnies!!
(Sometimes he'd over-run by another hour, or two!!) 😲😲😲
I never noticed Jimmy tarbuck was laughing so hard. Thats praise right there.
I love the story how Tarby, when at a charity auction, stitched up Billy with a signed England football team football. Its on UA-cam and dead funny
funniest comedian ever, never fails to make me laugh. "The Old Lady on the bus" is another worth listening to
Arguably the funniest routine ever. Has me in tears everytime
1:59 - that’s Sir Clive Sinclair, inventor of the ZX Spectrum computer in the audience!
Also a young Robbie Coltraine = Hagrid. It’s an invited celebrity audience.
Remember seeing on tv at the time. Whole family in hysterics. Even the dog!🤣🤣🤣🇬🇧🇺🇸
My favourite Billy stand up bits are "Potatoes of the night", "Arms of the eiderdown" and "Condoms"
As an Englishman my (Scottish) Mrs once had me do my Billy Connolly impression to a bunch of Glaswegians in the pub. I nearly had to empty my underwear! They weren't gona let me leave without doing it. I actually got genuine laughter and a round bought for my trouble!
watch Billy long enough and you need incontinence pants!
LOL
Yep back and front unfortunately🤣🤣🕊️🕊️👍
Billy Connolly is my go to when I have a bad day. 🙏❤️
I seen him live at the Apollo in London years ago I never laughed so much in my life
7 gallons doon each leg! Hehe Robbie Coltraine also peeing himsel! Love from Scotland btw. I have had two kids, got to have a laugh about it!
I have watched this sketch over and over again and it still has me in stitches. Unfortunately the American showing of it misses the funniest bit where hebundoes his incontinent pants and it all flushes out. Hillarious!
People say whisky is Scotlands biggest export but its actually Billy he's our gift to the world I'm fifty years old and there is still some of him I'm just seeing now 👍
His “box jellyfish” joke has stayed with me for 40+ years! Pure Genius
The reason he was talking about incontinence pants is because he was doing a routine about the advertising in a paper. The whole routine was great from cutting your own hair, the big slipper that you can sit in, dog bags to put your dog in to stop hair going onto the floor etc.
The incontinence part was my favourite bit but you missed the funniest part when he emptied his underwear. You need to try and watch the whole thing.
Only an American could think like you. :-(
i started laughing at the thumbnail because i know whats coming :) Bill Connolly is a comedic genius as well a great story teller
You know it's funny when comedians and comedic actors in the audience are howling with laughter ! 😂 Has to be one of the funniest guys to ever live.
Im disabled and have sometimes in the past had, shall we say, issues in that area. So I can sort of relate, Until I found a way to deal with it, (catheters). This is one of the funniest things I ever heard, one of those that never gets less funny no matter how many times I see it. Apologies if this is too much information but I used to have a urine bag attached, attached via a sheath on my bits, down a tube, and the bag strapped on my leg, my mates always used to say they could always tell when I was using it because I'd get this really contented smile on my face, the look of relief lol.
I've seen this so many times and still laugh 🤣🤣🤣
This was part of a sketch about reading classified adverts that appeared (in the uk) in the Sunday newspapers.....he also skits about buying and trying the home hair cutting comb.....the big slipper (that you'd put both feet in) and pet bags you put your pet in to stop getting fur / feathers on the sofa etc.... fantastic stuff....if you can find the video, from which that clip was taken, 'an audience with...' it's well worth the watch. As an aside, all of the front rows of the audience were fellow celebs....
@Chris Travers - not quite Chris...the plebs were higher up at the back....hoy palloy down at the front...
I got a laughter headache now, but it was worth it !
Mate just to let you know i watch your vids coz when you laugh it makes me laugh and puts me in a better mood.
Now you've found some of the classic material.
There is a lot more to this part of the act, well worth searching out.
Like the movie, Master & Commander, that clip, started after the beginning and finished before the end. Wooosh! 😉😏🏴🎱🤦
The very end of that routine, when the guy opens his pants and drains them, is absolutely gut-busting.
I have just remembered two sketches you really need to watch;
Freddie Starr as Mick Jagger and Kenny Everett as Rod Stewart.
They're both pretty short, but seriously funny!
Billy is just the best
The audience are all Brit actors, comedians, singers that Billy invited to watch the show.
Even if you don't react to it bro. You must watch the whole special it is hilarious. Seen Billy live twice worth every penny and more👍🏴❤
the 90 minute version, not the tv version ;-)
Absolutely love billy Connolly 🤣 one of if not the best stand up ever 😂😂
One of Scotlands finest! 👍
great comedy like this just never gets old, even if you know word for word its the way Billy delivers it, just magnificent.
Billy is an absolute legend. Shame about his health now though. He had me in stitches so many times.
Absolutely brilliant sketch. Keep it up with the funny stuff
Classic Billy. Check out the video Billy Connolly Toblerone, especially the bit where he talks about getting his dad a "prescription windscreen" (windshield) for his car, absolutely kills me every time.
the sweetie that hurts you
@@rickybuhl3176 I'll just have the one Alp...
I saw him doing that routine at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh in 1993 (I think). I could barely breathe for laughing. He was out mixing with the crowd before the show too.
legend of a fella👍.more please.cant get enough of him.he's an absolute gentleman too.his grandfather is from about 10 miles from where I grew up in Connemara on the west coast of Ireland. theirs a video about it on UA-cam from when he done the world tour series.
The first time I saw this I damn near wet myself laughing, it was then and still is the funniest comedy sketch I have ever seen!! 😂😂😂😂😂🇬🇧
where do you do your Live streams fella defo game to have a drink with ya and watch some classic British banter!
New subscriber, your laugh is infectious 😂👍🏻
Thank you.
Yeah you should 100% see the entire show. One of the funniest things Billy has done. The audience were literally crying with laughter.
Audio wise, "Wreck on Tour" is just superb by Billy.
Seen him live when I was 18 best ever. Love the man ❤️🙂.
I was just thinking about this today, it's hilarious. I highly recommend the full show
My older brothers loved him but I never thought he was funny (because I was too young to understand the jokes). Then in my teens this show (An Audience with Billy Connolly) came on the tele and I've been a fan ever since
Great reaction as always! If you really need some medication bit to go with it, in his show "Billy Connolly Bites Yer Bum", my personal favourite of his, he does a hilarious bit about US commercials for Preparation H.
I would look for the full version of this. Cannot help feeling that you have missed classic parts of this show. Love your reactions no the less. ❤️
Im so proud to be from Glasgow the same place this man is from
Did you notice Hagred and Theoden in the audience?
Billy Connelly could tell you how he put a postage stamp on an envelope and have you crying with laughter and holding your sides until they ache.
He has an amazing talent.
Gotta love Billy Connolly,, he is hilarious.. He is One of my all time favourite comedians..
When are you doing episode 2 of Bad Lads Army ???
The whole special is straight fire. Well worth a watch....
As recommended by The Mad Tatter below: try 'prescription windshield.' To this day my favourite Connolly routine.
Still got this preserved on a VHS video! If only I had a VHS player!! As well as the Big Slipper bit....Billy talking about our athletes marching to God Save the Queen at thevOlympic opening ceremonies! 🤣🤣 and that they should really parade around to the theme tune from the Archers! 🤣(very long running radio “drama” on BBC Radio 4 about farming folk.....) hysterical! God bless you Billy ❤️❤️
Ive had to wear Catheter bags since i was 28. Now 40 and getting a bladder pacemaker. Thank god. Love love love your videos.
Have you watched Billy's talk about terrorists at Glasgow airport...😂😂😂
Funniest thing ever.
Funny as hell, a fantastic comedian. EB if you loved this watch him at whoopie goldbergs N.Y. show his trip on a aeroplane trip story so funny, and his Xmas Dinner story with the super toffs in there stately home. You'll love it. All the best EB. 😁
You struck gold here! More Billy please !!!
His routine about shouting at animals on TV shows is painfully funny and a must-see! I think it's here on YT and guarantee you will laugh your ass off!
Wildebeeste
pssst Agnes...
"No me. Am wan eh they stripy things"
@@Rid3thetig3r If a lion sees you, you can just fly away?
I saw him doing this routine live & I could hardly breath because I was laughing so much. He's a genius. It was an honour to see him . The 1 he tells about going to the doctor for a prostate exam is hilarious too 😅
Doesn't matter how many times I see this sketch, I still laugh all the way through. Brilliant comic. He has another one about folk singing I highly recommend.
EB did you ever hear of the show called father Ted, I'm pretty sure you will love it 😂🇮🇪🇬🇧🇺🇲
Cracks me up everytime
I love how comedy or humour is universally funny throughout the world ... another great reaction vid eb 🤣👍
There's never a dull moment with Billy, in tears every time. On an other note this reaction guy is Robert Oburst in 20 years haha
My uncle met him before he was a comedian. Billy was in a folk band with Gerry Rafferty (stealers wheels/Baker street) called the Humblebums. My Uncle has been in a few folk bands over the years. I think it was a folk festival on Arran in the 70s when they met.
Glad you enjoyed that man! All the best, Chas :0)
The stuff you are showing needs very little comment from us because you have good taste in comedy. Your observations are spot on. Well done!
One of the funniest things he did was when he appeared on a BBC Scotland programme answering questions from a studio audience of schoolchildren - it was called 'Open to Question' - but he carried on talking at the end, with all these Glasgow teenagers in hysterics. They broadcast it as, I think, 'Billy Connolly, Out of the Question'. I think it's on here somewhere. And for those who criticise him for swearing or being vulgar, he shows how naturally funny he is when neither of those things.
Hello elective beard love your videos this is one of my favourite parts of the audience sorry I meant to say it's one of my favourite shows of Billy Connolly's where it's a celebrity audience with Billy Connolly from 1986 I know it's cos I've got on DVD
Takes me back to my childhood watching this and all the people in the audience
Ive seen this hundreds of times but its your reaction that makes it more funnier
Your a STAR EB..
HILARIOUS
You’ve got to remember how old this is now
It came out when I was kid I’m 50😂
Love Billy! Seems you can make out the Glasgow accent fairly well so I was sat thinking you'd really enjoy the scottish sitcom 'Still Game' if you gave it a try 👍
And Two Doors Down - very much appreciated south of the border.
@@georgebowling842 Two Doors Down is good aye, was Still Game even broadcast down south? Vastly underrated british comedy cuz it only ever seemed to reach a scottish audience until the kinda poor final seasons of it :/
Loved chewing the fat but Still Game wasn’t very good 😌
Scotch'n'Wry if you can find it, with the late great Rikki Fulton.
I'm an Aussie and stumbled onto "Still Game" on Netflix, love it. I must confess, I had to turn on subtitles to make sure I didn't miss anything. Billy had obviously not prepared me enough. 😁
You should check out his joke on the noise women make when they’re genuinely get a fright 😂
I know exactly what you're referring to, it's a belter 🤣
I was putting my designer hat on and thinking ...mmm. maybe a valve on the pants and er.. But then I'm thinking too much.
Anything is funny with this fellah.
You struck gold. 💛💛💛🌟🌟🌟
that was a special show ..it was an invite to tv and stage show stars ...i recognised loads of uk famous stars ....
Too many legends to mention 🤩
@@dbgaming87That audience was star studded with some of our greatest performers.
@@stephensmith4480 i could not of put it better myself pal
@@dbgaming87 👍😊
The full version of this performance is close to 90min and is his greatest.
I watched this the night it was shown. I was laying on the sofa watching and laughed so hard I fell off the sofa hurt my knee but never stopped laughing..
You must watch the whole show if u can .. your sides will hurt from laughing .. great stuff
great reaction channel. you dispel a lot of american stereotypes that i think the rest of the world hold. keep it up.
The greatest ever stand-up comedian
I saw Billy live, I was in so much pain I had to leave and missed the last 10 minutes, lol
Billy's divorce song is hilarious. Should watch Kevin bridges. Funny as....
See the people in the audience , Hale and pace, Joanna Lumley, Jimmy Tarbuck all the greats of comedy alive in that era . This clip is from An audience with Billy Connolly ,Where all the famous and the best in British entertainment came to see him .So many more in the audience that night i cant explain it was a tribute to his genius that he was given the show and all the audience were famous in there own right.
You should check out Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson, try watching either Young ones, Bottom or some of there live shows
Billy Connolly, Haggis, mashed potatoes, turnip/rutabaga and a nice aged Scotch whisky makes for a truly decadent Scottish evening of Joy and laughter ❤️👍
Absolutely love good old Billy so sad his health is bad now TV and the stage misses him
You should watch one of his full shows, I would definitely advise taking some paracetamol first though, knowing your "comedy headaches".
More Billy Connolly please!
The audience in this video are like a who's who of British TV in the 1980s. Every face the camera settled on was a household name at the time.
Still one of the funniest routines ever done.
Great reaction to one of the UK national treasures. And a Scottish god
