Bruh. The way you belligerently play the game however you want is the best thing about these streams! It's a game, not an exam.
I find it challenging to watch because I am *such* a "there is a right and wrong way" kind of person (as in, I have to leave the kitchen if my husband is cooking, because he'll, I don't know, cut the potatoes "wrong" or something, even though I know he's an *excellent* cook!), but that's actually exactly why it's so good for me to watch! Learning and self-improvement process for me!
And I appreciate and admire Grace SOOOOO much. She is a genuine role model for me in Just. Bloody. Let someone. Do. Their own. Thing! If it all goes pear shaped and they fall flat on their arse, no-one is actually going to punish them OR you!

This stream had me cracking up last night - I truly cannot imagine anyone but Grace guiding Dev. The gentle parenting and encouragement to try figuring it out on her own is such a fantastic dynamic (and also a very important buffer between chat and Dev):
G: "We're looking for a spell called Lesser Restoration, but I'm not sure if we have that yet..."
D: "I'm gonna try Cure Wounds.... okay, that gave me 7, not that good. Okay Grace, I'm gonna try Healing Word. Okay Grace, are you ready?"

100% Grace is doing such an amazing job
150%. Grace is genuinely #LifeGoals for me. I struggle *hugely* with "people having to do things correctly" or else, like, the world will end or something and consequently would have been a *dreadful* parent, so watching things like this helps me learn that it's okay to let people learn by themselves, make mistakes, do things "wrong" and will hopefully help me eventually learn to extend that to myself and work to undo the decades of "if you're not perfect you're worthless, and you can never be perfect"

I find for me personally it depends heavily on whether I have played a game or not. Nowadys I just watch streams of games that I played myself. I can't count how many times I stopped a stream in frustration and bought the game myself because I just couldn't bear watching someone else play in a way that I would never.
I don't have that problem when I have already played the game.
So maybe these people are like me in that regard, and just haven't played the game themselves? That's not an excuse, but an explanation.
Gaming in general but especially rpgs are filled with people that want to analyze everything to death and make the exact perfect run.
I enjoy watching Dev play the way she wants.
It's quite entertaining.
As for why are they watching instead of playing.
Can't play while working.
Because it's fun to see what the actors would do in certain situations in the game, especially when they play their own characters. Regarding Baldur's Gate 3, each person will have a different experience.

People online have the need to comment their "expertise" instead of letting everyone make their own game. Baldur's Gate 3 is literally meant to be played as you wanna play it. Even the damn launch trailer made this clear. 😂
On the Tiefling hideout... I didn't find it until I saw you do it, and I had already finished my first full playthrough. So thanks for help me find it!
I think why goblin of the week is such a hit is because you're one of the few people saying what many people feel. Too often, people who play games have to deal with gatekeeping try hards who can't respect that people come to enjoy games in different ways. So, they'll leave toxic comments on UA-cam primarily (cause no mods) and most folks just ignore it. You're like the voice of a thousand souls who wishes to speak back against this.
So while some folks maybe like Dev shouldn't cook the goblins, I'm over here via Ivan Drago like "If he dies, he dies."

I'm loving seeing how well you've picked up on the game and it's controls the past few episodes and love seeing how excited you get when exploring a new environment!
The D-pad stands for Directional Pad and is a hold over from early Nintendo days. If you press and hold up it'll take out the torch and just tapping up makes you jump. You can also select left and right when you are trying to focus on something specific and there's a lot in the area. For example if you're standing in front of a table and want to pick something up you can use left and right to scroll through everything on the table until you find what you want
Dev's reaction to the candles makes my day at least 20% brighter :D

So I had a thought about this marathon stream when I went to bed after the stream. Ignore me if you've already thought of this or someone else has mentioned it. You said that you get tired playing (might be misremembering that) for longer periods of time, so maybe for this marathon stream (if it happens), you could play a couple of hours, then answer some questions to rest and then go back to play for a couple more hours? Just to break it all up a bit? Also just gotta say, I adore the way you are playing, screw the haters. I love seeing such a new kind of playthrough and you are just brilliant to listen to and watch. first of all, you have already mastered the "my game, my rules" so go as chaotic as you want!
I wanted to laugh about the "battle tactics", the only things you need to really know about combat:
- use the jump everytime unless it's not needed
- use as many actions are available to you
that's it lol.
since you loot things, here's some info that might be useful.
white items - starting equipment, and general trash
green items - good items, equip them when you find them
blue items - better items, equip them when you find them
pink items - great items, equip them when you find them
orange items - phenomenal items, equip them when you find them
you can sell all the trash at the vendors, make some coin and buy green armours for your party (medium for all the girlies, light for the boys, clothe for gale) you can also buy green weapons.
they will make your life easier in battle
another tip is to give all your party bows.
I think these basic stuff will just improve your in game quality of life.
other than that, have all the fun you can, do as you please, your streams are pure chaos and that makes them the most entertaining lol

As she is a bestie, and never leaving the party, Spirit guardians spell for Shart to turn her into a walking, radiating damage source.

Sorry about that; the intention was to provide useful info, and not to patronize you or hurt your feelings. You did give me a heart for a similar comment in one of your earlier streams. FYI, the only other recent computer RPG I've played is Valheim, and NPCs in that game have very simplistic AI. So my comment above was kind of a compliment to the BG3 AI, which I enjoy a lot. Probably not a big deal for experienced RPGers, but it is to me.

Just wanted to say thanks for doing this all for us. I imagine it was pretty stressful to set up a stream on PS5 (I help my boyfriend with all of his PC streaming stuff and when I looked into console streaming my brain shut off completely, so I salute you!) but your UA-cam uploads are ALWAYS what I look for now when I open UA-cam. You and Grace are so sweet and funny and I absolutely adore your reactions to chat, even the more mansplain-y comments (those give me massive secondhand cringe they are a plague on all of us, don't apologize for being mean). Watching you fall in love with the game has been wonderful, and I PROMISE all of the "noob" stuff people said you were doing in the first couple episodes they did themselves on their first playthrough. Obligatory shoutout to Grace for helping Dev set all of this up, but she's gotten pretty damn good at it herself too (thanks to your tutorage ofc my queen), the effort is not wasted on any of us! (Also as a woman I REALLY appreciate you and Grace calling out the stupid pandering comments. They always make me mad and having you address them directly is better than therapy I swear)

I wasn't expecting it, but this game has ended up meaning a lot to me. The writing and performances are both so astounding, from everyone really but ESPECIALLY you and Jen. You both really blew me away (and I'll probably leave a similar comment for her the next time I catch one of her streams or videos lol), to the point that I've actually felt inspired to do some writing of my own for the first time in literal years!
I thought I was done with that part of my life, but now I've gotten some of it back thanks to you, as well as all the other excellent actors and writers behind this game of course

I think it would be cool if Larian Studios put the actors dressed in cosplay as their specific characters, perhaps at a publicity event or charity event.
