Were you in a hurry to get somewhere? :D The end of Section 6 and also I think section 10 or 11 (the one just before the fire road climb to Dixon's Hollow) are among my favourite parts, and the fast flowing sections. At 7:39 is why I don't do downhill technical stuff! I just don't have the skill or the balls for it.
The red route is split up into 38 sections, after most sections you can escape down a fire road or join the blue / green (which are mostly on wider tracks or fire roads) depending on where you are along the route. If you wanted to skip a gate it can sometimes be a long way around on fire roads as you have to go up or down the hill then back to find where the gate exists, usually on the next fire road along; if you didn't want to do the gnarly down hill bits it's possible to skip them using this method, there are probably only about four or five difficult obstacles / areas though, the Red route is actually mostly fast flowing XC stuff.
Nice vid. When you say the red loop do you mean all 21 miles (whole red route) or is there another section, haven't been in a while and going again tomorrow. Have rode the Newclose and jerry noodle trail but fancying the Riggs & dales one just cant find any footage of it and wondering what its like
To be honest it was my first time there. I ended up following all the signs for the red loop and yeah it was 20 + miles. I didn't have cell signal so my strava pooped out on me.
Nice video man! We've all binned it on 'Vera Lynns' that Christmas tree half way down is a nightmare!
Great video mate. Crashed at the same point as you yesterday!
Been there today awesome route

Great video, very well played :)
Going there tommorow!
Nice vid, cant wait to get back on a bike again. Out of interest what size wheels are you running, they 29 as look large.
Thanks! Must be the camera angle, they are actually 26in.
What trail at dalby is that?
Is this what it’s like for 21 miles or is there a wide track that you go on and you can go off to do this
