If you want RGB lights with wireless control simply buy a NeoPixel panel and hook up an Arduino to it. Then you have individual led colour control (probably not too useful in this case), you can use WiFi or Bluetooth to control it and you have the added bonus of being able to add as many physical buttons as you please negating the incompatability with the stream deck. If you really wanted you could intergrate the Google Assistant Api and give it voice control.
I mean, I guess they are much cheaper then professional lighting? But I guess there are other similar products that are much cheaper. Also, this is pretty niche and more so for streamers with I say like over 1k viewers and get a decent amount of money to then afford this.

Yeah, it's a little expensive, though I do like that it can be integrated with the stream deck. You could also just wire generic Amazon lights with diffusers into a footswitch. Then you don't have to have functional Wi-Fi to run your lights. LMAO

With the exchange rate, it should cost about 260$ , but for some reason, we keep having it at 300$ . It was at 275$ around the holidays, but sold out. I love the brand -- got two stream decks, the collapsible green screen, HD 60S, and CamLink 4K, but I refuse to pay 300$ x 2 for some lighting when I can get some (although less efficient) Neewer LED lights for a fraction of the price.

that's really not a bad panel at all. I use the Aputures and they are great but I do wish there was a lower profile version. If you guys think this is expensive, wait til you see the westcott flexlights. 2500 lumens is no joke either.
I bought a small lamp from Target that cost me $14. You wouldn't even know the difference from this elgato light. Placement is everything. This one isn't bad if you are already making decent money from streaming, but if not there are thousands of other options at fractions of this cost.
I'm upgrading my gaming studio and just picked these key lights up this week, paired with my new Logitech Brio 4K webcam, amazing purchase, (were they a little pricey, yes) but I can't believe how much it lit up the room and how much more clear it made me look on cam! :D

Quality high cri (95+) leds with rgb, warm and cold white(2700-6500 kelvin) alone would cost 300$ for a light with similar size to those elgato ones... add housing, cooling, dmx controller, powersupply, one could DIY this for around 700+$ per light.

Got mine today (half off amazon Black Friday deal) and was surprised at the weight of the light. Was super heavy for the size but really thin. Seems like great quality. The only thing I don’t like is the plug is huge. Should’ve put the transformer inline not as the plug. Yes it’s expensive and yes you can get a normal light and put wax paper on them but you can’t control anything that way.
It really comes down to the CRI of the light. If it is 95+ with accurate reproduction the light is a good value, despite not having battery capability. Haven't seen any info on that yet.
If you want an even lightning with minimal to no shadows, you will need two lights. With a green screen behind you, to be properly lit, two are actually the bare minimum.

Frank trying to justify a overpriced product with another overpriced product. Wow. Let me tell you there are basic lights without an App that also Feature different color Tones for 20% of the cost of this product.
I feel like the only thing that this has going for it is the software. I could just get 2 neewer panels (remote controlled) 4 19 inch gooseneck flexible poles (mic pole) 2 desk clamps, and two adapters, and it's cheaper than just one of these. Literally it's like $2 less. TBH - it isn't as flashy as an elgato product, but.. for 2 lights for $172 vs. 1 for $174, that's not a tough call. Am I wrong? I mean damn that's expensive just for one light.
This could be a good investment for me. A few questions; Does this have to be used with the app? Is it possible to run the app from my Amazon Kindle? Can these be wall mounted?
This really isn't that overpriced. Considering how small of a profile it is and the features it's reasonably priced. I paid about $50 for my softbox and bulb, and I would gladly pay the extra $150 for something like this that doesn't take up as much space.
$200, which I am sketched out about because we don't know how long they are actually going to last and the lack of ground stand only via hooked onto desk? So for that I am out, no pun intended, but the wireless is handy for those already inside the el gato eco system.
I'm waiting until they add full RGB before purchasing them. Also, Elgato has not been super great since Corsair bought them. Seems like Corsair does not care about things so much.
Can you put these Elgato lights on a standard tripod instead of screwing this to your desk for more versatility ? so it is not only good when you do live stream in front of your pc.

Id much rather spend £40 on a pair of softboxes that every streamer every has used. They work perfectly, only benefit to the elgato is smaller footprint but there is similar version for like half the price. I love the Elgato capture cards but seriously there other stuff is just stupidly expensive

200 for some LEDs is rather hard. It's right on the edge for me personally. If it was 200€ for RGBW, that would be a more fitting price.

A little "trick" i do for lighting is use the tv above my monitors and put on a white screen from youtube. Not the greatest but i mean its free
