      maybe just the base gasket to get the Squish correct hight, if that has changed too.

    Great series of videos. Thanks so much for your time. I bought a DD2 125cc kart. Is there any videos specific to doing the top end service on these? I am green to wrenching on karts but since I’m not actually racing, I’d like to do some of the simpler service work myself. Thanks.

      Hey Don. The DD2 is very similar process to the KZ. Both have the nickel bore so just replace the piston, little end bearing and piston pin and your good to go.

    Hello Derick, how are you? How do you break-in the engine after a new piston? Thanks

    Hi!! I have the exact same engine. When I shift gears or when I downshift I don't feel a sharp knock like when I test my friends' karts. The gears go, but I have no audible or gear engagement feedback. what can it be?

    Hey buddy I have a TM Racing K9B and i don’t know what kind of fuel I can use, I read on the maintenance manual that I need to use 95 or higher unleaded racing fuel!
    My question is, I need to use that fuel with or without methanol?
    And what type of oil you use for mix and the oil of the gearbox?
    Thanks a lot! ☺️

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  3 роки тому

      Hey Giorgio, no methanol required. if it is a practise kart, use regular pump gas and run the engine a bit richer on the main jet.
      I use Motul GP2T synthetic oil for fuel, and ATF or Motorbike Gear Oil for the gearbox.

    Do we need to check for the ring gap or do the rings come pre gapped? ( amazing video by the way)

    Another great instructional video! Cheers. After how many hours are you replacing the piston and ring on this 10B?

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  6 років тому

      Hi Lyle. On this 10B we will replace the piston every 3 hours.

    What should the ring gap be?

    Hey derrick, recently got a rotax 125 evo kart. Has close to 15 hours on the piston, how many hours more should I expect from engine before it needs the piston replaced. Thanks

      @PowerRepublic  Рік тому

      probably ready if you want to go racing, otherwise just send it as is for another 10 hours and then give it a full rebuild so she's a solid race winning engine!!!

      @PowerRepublic  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Marco, look at the thrust washers on the Conrad and see if they have started to go blue. that is good indictor that the bottom end could do with some new parts

    Hey, great video as always !! I have a question, when you put the pin back on, do you need the special tool or is it only nessessary when you extract it? Thanks again !!!

    • @PowerRepublic
      @PowerRepublic  4 роки тому +1

      thanks mate, normally with a brand new pin and piston, the pin will slide in without any pressure needed.

      @@PowerRepublic thanks ! Also, i think it would be cool if you did a video comparing original pieces with compatible ones... (like iame clutch or piston vs compatible ones)
