The Newest Flagship from Sony is the Xperia XZ Premium, released in 2017 this is the successor to the normal Sony Xperia XZ... While the phones sound similar, they are actually very different in size and specs, so I'm really not sure why the names are correlated.
Either way, this new devices is top of the line when it comes to Screen resolution and quality. The 4K pixels and HDR display makes the Xperia XZ one of the most powerful displays in the smart phone world. Pretty impressive.

Charlie welcome to this channel. this man takes shots at any company that has made some not very smart moves. it's normal, subtle, and hilarious. he also likes Legos a lot. I just summed up this channel in a few sentences. I missed some minor details like he does this to all phones, but that's not important obviously.
Charlie Actually, Bixby is really amazing and does way better and more efficient than the Google now or whatever it’s called; they want it to sound natural but who goes up to a person and say “Okay friend, how are you?” But going up to a person and saying “Hi friend, how are you?” Makes way more sense. Oh, I’m on the beta and so far every week they add an update to the beta and I’m quite impressed since I was playing a game and I just said “Hi Bixby” and told them the question, Bixby gave me the answer straightaway by voice and I tried the same with Okay Google and Siri and they both took me to the web which Siri did a bit better than Google but yes, Bixby is still in beta and isn’t perfect yet does better than even Alexa at some points which I was surprised but Google is just a pain since I always activate it when I accidentally hold my home button on my phone or when I say “Google” so I don’t get why people get mad at Bixby when Google is even worse since it’s on all Android phones by default without a way to deactivate it.

Not to mention, T-mobile variants of the S8 now block bixby remapping apps from now. Until the devs come with a workaround, they're now left with a useless button.

Thks is the largest phone I've used and not sure I like the weight and size. I am eying the Sony compact dual Sim phone. How does this xz premium phone hold up to dropping. I have a screen protector and case on it currently

Still working well and unexpectedly fast in 2021. Battery capacity at 92% after 4 years of use. That's insane. However, I had to upgrade because some apps aren't optimized for android 9 anymore (especially those banking apps).
Yeah looks I have to do that as well. Shame.

Well I've owned this phone for more than two years and it suprisingly durable.
It can still be washed under the faucet without dying, it has been dropped way too many times but apart from some deformation on the metal corners, a (sadly) deep groove in the middle of the display and some paint that has chipped off from the nylon siderails, it has survived the time really well and I'm very glad about that as I haven't found a successor for it yet, the only replacement I can imagine right now is another new XZ Premium
Edit: almost 4 years later and it still works great, good thing that the 1iii looks like a good successor

Maybe The XZ Premum could survive on the bend test because its non-metal part of the casing is made of Nylon (a thermoplastic) which is more flexible and durable than regular plastic.
He did state in his nexus 5x video as well. A metal phone would be permanently damaged if it bent too much

I'm from germany and I have an XZ premium. I'm very impressed about the processor speed and the high resolution 4k screen. The camera is also good. Your test shows that this phone is premium and build by very good materials.
You should start doing water tests on the phones you review (after the flame test and before the bend test since in this last one, the phone doesn't necessarily need to be functioning properly).
Also, you should have tested the 960fps slo mo :)

Shulkyl You can find water tests anywhere, but you will never find a comprehensive durability test anywhere on UA-cam other than our friend jerry.

The plastic is treated nylon, so it's pretty much the best plastic you can get and it's actually better than aluminium in this case, because it dampens the shock received by the glass when the phone falls on a side better than metal (unless you use some sort of liquid metal alloy which is too expensive to manufacture).

Being the first video I watch from this man, this sure was scary to watch! I know no sane person would damage their main phone on purpose with a blade (unless it's for demonstration purposes like in this video), so I'm safe, and the phone does resist pretty well :)

They are using capacitive technology. It is reading your fingerprint's electrical signal and not eyeing down your finger.

I own XZ Premium in UK over 14 months because I wanted Rose Gold and found it on eBay. Wonderfully strong, technologically top quality, 4K and 3D software and always user centred experiences like micro SD storage of your images without privacy violation, like cloud only iphone crap. I love 4K video with Super Slow Motion so a bird hang in the air, waterfall droplets can be seen, far away gigs that stars almost touchable, so amaaaazing. Also you can get 3D printable image data! You won't regret a bit!
I ran over my xz premium with a dual cab ute (truck, if you're American) within 2 weeks of buying it

I agree with you at some points but i think that the infinity display is more unique since the Xperia XZ looks quite a bit similar to some other Sony Xperia phones :)
