    I have been struggling with another plug-in for translation in WordPress and your video made everything much clearer to me. Thank you! I am installing Weglot now!

      I'm happy I could help Sharon. I have a another translation video in the works. It's designed to work with Elementor and it's one of the only translation plugins recommended specifically by Elementor.

      Hopefully you're fluent in the languages you're having Google translate. They do a horrible job with Spanish

      Yeah, but the problem with that plugin is you can't edit your translations

    Great video, thanks. How does the word limit work? If I chose 200.000 words for the yearly one, does that mean it can translate 200.000 a year?

    I’m a huge proponent of reaching out beyond English language markets but a word about translation quality is in order..
    Have you read English that has been machine translated out of another language? Yeah, the same thing happens the other way around. Although Google AI may not be EATing non-EN sites yet, the visitors to these pages WILL know this content has not been written by humans.
    You touched on this in minute 27 but it’s not an afterthought IMO. Perhaps this plugin is best used to reduce localization costs. Publishers best not go live without first having local language (human) writer clean it up first.

    Nice video ! and really excited to switch from my WPML everyday burden. Not sure Weglot propose Woo-commerce or other plugins compatible advanced features but it looks clean and easy to use for basic multilingual websites. Anybody else here in trouble with WPML ? What is your favorite translation plugin ?

    If this creates a new page for every language, what happens if I update the original page with new content, how will this reflect in the current translated existing page sort of refresh page content? Thank you.

    Hello Bjorn, nice video. Do you know if the plugin translate new pages automatically?

    • @wplearninglab
      @wplearninglab  5 років тому

      Yes, it will as long as you have enough translated words available. By that I mean, the monthly subscription is based on the number of words being translated. So if you have 'unused words' available then new pages and posts will be automatically translated.
      I hope that helps and thanks for watching! Let me know if you have any further questions :)

    Hi, Bjorn! Thanks for the time saved! But I still have one question that I hope you can help me with answer.
    After translating the page to a second language, is there (how?) a way to change the URL?
    Thnx

    • @wplearninglab
      @wplearninglab  3 роки тому

      I just checked their documentation and you have to have an “Advanced plan” to change the URL slugs. If you have an Advanced plan here’s how you can make the URL change: support.weglot.com/article/148-can-i-translate-my-urls
      I hope that helps, let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks for watching!

    Hi Bjorn,
    Thank you for this very good explanation.
    Two questions:
    1. Does Weglot slows down website speed?
    2. As I understand, I can use the free version API key on more then 1 website (url) as long as all the websites does not count more than 2000 words. Is that correct?
    Thank you very much,
    Hilde

    I have a post in English with a "read more" click prompt that redirects to an English pdf. How would I be able to get the click here section to redirect me to a French pdf. If the user clicks French when entering the site?
    Hopefully I'm making sense..

    Could we translate posts? Is there a similar plugin no word limit because we write 1000s of words of blog posts

    • @wplearninglab
      @wplearninglab  5 років тому

      Hi Punit, you can translate posts as well. Any WP page, post, custom post-type, or page builder page can be translated.
      You won't be able to find a free version, Google charges for access to the Google Translate API.
      Even if you were to build this functionality yourself you couldn't do it for free.
      I hope that helps and thanks for watching! Let me know if you have any further questions :)

    Can you add subdomain instead like fr.website.com? or do they only offer website.com/fr/? as the International slug?

    It allows only 1 language with the free plan. The paid plan costs an abundant amount of money.

  • @amenfreehold

    Weglot! You'll be constantly pushed to write higher-level plans, and if you have more than 1000 on your stuff, you'll never be able to write more than one language.

    This plugin slows down your website and you have to click on every page to translate again
