Mr T was and is an incredible person. A true gentlemen. Played one of the best villains in cinematic history. Love the guy! A heroic actor like Stallone can only be as good as his rival.
I FIND IT UNBELIEVABLY HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THIS WAS MR T'S FIRST ACTING JOB - INSANE!!!!! IT WAS LIKE R LEE ERMY IN FULL METAL JACKET AND ALAN RICKMAN IN DIE HARD (ONLY DID THEATER; REST IN PEACE TO BOTH): PHENOMENAL FIRST MOVIE JOBS!!!!!!
If I had been Sylvester Stallone at the time, I would have gone crazy. How much pressure he just had at the time. First he had to train more than any boxer in the world. Secondly, he had to learn the text for the film, thirdly he had to fit it all in with other people to make everything work 100%. Fourth, he had to learn all those movements in the ring, fifthly, he had to direct it all in one year, or so. I would explode :D
These movies have been an astronomically significant part of my life, and now it's been a pleasure to introduce my 9 year old daughter to them. We've now seen the first 3.
my lil story : when i was in heroin rehab in 2007, i watched rocky and over the top it helped me a lot then i began exercise musculation and now i'm ok...my next goal is made the trip fance-usa to see sly and says " thank u man"
As much as I loved all the Rambo movies, I have to admit that all the Rocky movies were & still are my favorites. Stallone is absolutely amazing! I can't even imagine how hard it is to act, let alone direct & write movies as well. I did like Rocky Balboa, but not as much because it kind of made me sad that Adrian was dead & Rocky was older... Still in great shape though. But I was happy to see him make another Rocky overall.
Stallone is a very hard working intelligent man who works very hard to succeed at any price, if you watch his bio. He worked his guts off for Rambo just like he did for the Rockys.
People can criticize Sly's acting, but he puts everything into these movies. He wrote them all, directed several, and in my opinion he acted very convincingly.
I love how he said he hates to let Rocky go. Then he went on to make 5 more movies. He's the only guy to give us not one but two characters to follow through life in real time. Rocky is the main one, which many can relate to, but Rambo has also gone through life in real time as well. We've watched both of them grow old, along with the rest of us old enough to be around since the first Rocky movie in the mid 70's. Nobody has ever done that with a movie character before, that I can think of.
This is cool. I thought Mr. 'T' was great in this film. I always wanted to see them working out the fight scenes and even clowning around. Now I have! Thanks for posting this!
Someday I will meet Stallone and say THANK YOU so much for being an huge inspiration in my life, and a candle in my darkest moments. "Going in one more round when you don't think you can, that´s what makes all the difference in your life." - Rocky Balboa
Thanks for this watseinfeld. I watched this in the UK, early 80's - even had it on my new VHS machine and watched it many times. I never thought I'd see it again. I love UA-cam! Great job, fella! Many thanks for all your uploads.
This was Mr T's first acting gig? Unreal. He just about stole the whole movie. He has to be one of the most menacing bad guys in movie history. And it was his debut! Unbelievable! As a kid I wasn't scared of him like the way I'd be scared of Michael Myers or someone like that but he was a scary guy! That's why to this day I feel if anyone couldve/should've beaten Rocky it should've/would've been Clubber Lang. Even over Drago. And he did beat him! But Rocky was too busy living the good life. The height of all his success, the apex obviously being hanging out with Kermit and the gang on the Muppet Show. That's when you know you've made it. I know this movie was filmed way before Mike Tyson owned the world but there are so many parallels between his life and Rocky's. Part V was practically a biography of Tyson, unfortunately starting right at the beginning of his slow painful descent. But I consider Mr. T the original baddest man on the planet. Even though in real life he seems like a quiet, gentle soul with the heart of thirty lions
@@dennisjr77 From a muscular aspect, you are right rocky 4/Rambo3 era was the best. I actualy meant that he looked like a real professional athlete in Rocky 3, so svelte with an incredible stamina.
Hollywood never wanted Stallone and he did it his way without those idiots from hollywood. The people who believed in him were the good guys in Hollywood. Chartoff and Winkler rest in peace. They believed in him so much they mortgaged their homes to get the movie made. Stallone wrote it choreographed the fight scene and pretty much directed the movie without the credit. After Rocky he was in and he was the true million to one shot and made his dreams come true. From sleeping in a bus station to this. He's the american dream personified. He's my favorite actor and after he's gone there will never be another like him. These guys they have today are so fake and bullshit. He's the real deal.
Lol, I don’t think so.... that original Rocky script was Stallone’s last ditch effort to make it in Hollywood. It’s amazing he held onto it, for the amount of money they offered him, he refused because he wanted to play the lead role!
@FromSouthforkTexas I was wondering this as well, primarily when Stallone keeps saying "he'll be missed", and speaking as if it would be the final film. Guess he intended it to be a trilogy when working on this one. After all, in the film, prior to the rematch with Clubber, Stu Mahan says it would be Rocky's last fight "win, lose, or draw."
For a short moment I thought that the guy next to him was a kid brother or a friend on his side as a spotter or something...it turns out it's the late great Franco Columbia...!!!
Sly like Rocky had to over come prejudice and criticism about his deep voice and his mouth very similar to Arnold and his Austrian accent. They never gave up and turned their so called handicap INTO THEIR CALLING CARD THAT MADE THEM UNIQUE. CAN'T HELP BUT RESPECT THAT.

Huge respect for Stallone, he’s one of the greatest actors ever in Hollywood
I don't think Stallone gets enough credit for the amount of work he puts into each Rocky.
