I saw Rocky in 1976, winter in Chicago, I was 9, the next morning I got up at 4am, tried to drink a raw egg, put on my jogging pants etc and went out in the freezing cold, the rest of my life was forever changed
This is the best interview I’ve heard and I’m 66 years old and ran out of theatre cheering for Rocky and haven’t stopped. Just a perfect story and the heartfelt interaction between interviewer and Sly brought the best out of Sly ❤ for everyone’s benefit.
As I listen to this, I can't help being impressed by how humble and engaging Stallone is. He's having a conversation with the interviewer, interacting with him rather than going through the motions. Stallone has the humility of a man who remembers his early struggles and hasn't forgotton where he came from.
For some reasons, this conversation kept giving me goosebumps and tears. I am obcessed with this man since my late teens, i am 41 now, the movies he did keeps giving me pushes to keep moving forward in life, he gives me strentgh without even knowing it. The way he opens up about his past and how truthfull he is about himself is fascinating to me. Thank you very much for this beautiful moment you give to us, from the bottom of my heart ;)
Stallone looks great. All the actors who have passed since the 80s we still havent lost any of the tough guys...Stallone, Arnold, Jean Claude, Willis, Segal and Norris
I was going through a really bad time in my life years ago, I was going to end it , rocky 2 was on TV - the part when Adrian says “win” was on at the time , something so simple turned my life around. Love you Sylvester, you’re a legend mate .
As a child of the 80s, I was brought up on Rambo and Rocky. It's so fascinating to see Sly in this kind of interview, seems more real after watching this. I guess that's the mystique that they had back then, now I still don't think I could stand in front of him without having a total meltdown of nerves. It's Rocky!! It's Rambo lol .. I enjoyed this interview very much. Thankyou for bringing it to us :) 🙏
This is one of the best SS interviews I have seen (and I've seen them all😂). Candid, conversational rapport....SS inspired me as a shy 7 year old kid with a stutter to become a writer. Many years later, I published several books ❤
Ive probably seen every interview of Slys heard a lot of stuff i heard before, but was happy to hear some new storys here which was great, Amazing Interview
Tulsa is such an unexpected treasure. Personally, even though I love the Rocky films, Stallone is such an underrated actor, especially in more dramatic roles like Copland, which was one of his best performances ever. I wish he would do more of those...
He was brilliant in that. The trouble was it flopped. I could never understand why. Great cast, and a director who went on to do several other great films.
Are these interviews a few years old? I've watched a few and they mentioned things coming up that occurred a couple years ago. Here he mentions Samaritan and Tulsa King as they're not out yet. Thank you!
Fantastic interview and was so pleasantly surprised to find out how humble and genuine Sly is - having known very little about him previously. I suddenly have the urge to re-watch the entire Rocky series having not seen most of them since last century!
Wow, at around 39:00 Sylvester desribes the circumstances around how he came to direct Rocky 2. I never realised what a huge risk this was to direct his first feature film, yet Rocky 2 was a GREAT movie and directed like someone who knew exactly what they were doing!
His films were played in my household, growing up. About 8 to 10 years of age. *Locked Up* is what I remember most. All the Rocky films, the Rambo films. Demolition Man I like.
I’ve always admired Sylvester and would love to meet him to prove he is really genuine which I believe he is. He has always seemed so down to earth and a cool guy!
Always great to listen to Sly! I was at his exhibition in Hagen (German). His pictures are really great. Thank you both for making this interview happen.
OMG, what a dream to sit down with Sylvester Stallone and talk about his life, my all time favorite actor since I was a little boy. He has been my inspiration my whole life. Keep Puching.
What a gem of a human Sly is. Rocky truly is the story of Sly. I think that the best scene he ever wrote still gives me goosebumps to this day when he implores all watching Rocky 4 that we ALL can change. That scene of overcoming the odds of the many giants in life that are trying to knock you down and to look at that giant and to tell them not only did I defeat you but we all collectively can look at all of our giants that work to divide us and say that we can rise above them. SO POWERFUL.
It's amazing how your show unlocks and unravels total stars who talk about their lives and careers with new inspiration and yes I get why you premiered after 4 years, I think it's a marketing move to attract more celebrities to your show now.
Wow! This is probably the best interview with Sly I've ever seen, and I consider myself an authority on Sylvester Stallone. Would be great to talk to other big Stallone fans. Keep punchin' 🥊
Truly inspirational and appreciated, I had no idea of his history told in such a great way by himself. A brilliant way of thinking about things and taking action to improve himself all along the way... Bravo Mr Stallone❤🎉
I named my son Apollo because of my love for the Rocky series. Growing up i didn't watch cartoons. It was all about Rocky, real boxing on tv, Rambo, Conan and many other 80's action films with Sly and Arnold.
Wonderful interview with Sly. Very insightful and inspiring. You’re a true professional and thank you for bringing Rocky and more into our lives. Best wishes Sly.
Another top class interview from ENSPIRE ME ✅️ Steven really does a great job always getting the best out of some truly amazing people 😂 i can't wait for the next episode!
A very genuine conversation Stephen well done. We got to see a very positive engagement between you guys. Sylvester seemed to step out from behind the screen facade, I took allot from what he had to say about his journey and life in general. Thank you for the upload keep them coming.
Sly really is Rocky his whole life was a million to one shot…. What a life and career the man defines never giving up and believing in yourself…. Loved Sly since I was 5yrs old and seen Rocky today at 46 he’s still a guy I’d love to meet and shake his hand and thank him for everything. He’s helped me through some hard times he’ll never know this obviously but the man is a legend
Superb interview 👏 well done 👏 2 guys who have bounced back from adversity at some point or another 👍 most inspiring 👏 i dont think Sly gets enough credit at times. A hero of mine
I think the underdog tone of Rocky1 is what made it so huge, so many of us relate to the story and relate to how Rocky was conceived by a guy with a desire to be somebody
❤wow you are such a awesome 👌 man. So cool 😎. I hold my hands up high for you. Love watching the movie 's that you wrote , director and act in. They are such amazing movies Sylvester Stallone ❤😊😊
Incredibly well done interview for a person with only 20k subs. Keep up the good work, success doesn't come overnight. As far as Sly goes, he never mentions 'Italian Stallion' and similar low level, demeaning roles he had to take to survive.
He still talks to much after asking a question. Ask a question, stop talking. Don't ask a question and then ramble on trying to make the question deeper. The person will understand the question. Let them answer.
Also really liked at the 1 hour point talking about the law of attraction. Am wondering if thought of making a detail of your journey to getting to the point where you interviewed Stallone. Like a life journey video!
My favorite sly movie is Rambo 3 which I saw in a birthday party as a happy kid eating cakes and pastries I was mesmerized by his screen presence. Later as I entered my teens , Rocky 1-2 became an inspiration for me to fight against all odds and the movies actually helped me in becoming successful in life. Thank you Sylvester Stallone.
To me, it is surprising to hear that the financers or producers of Rocky did not see that character in Stallone. I can't see anyone else in that role and glad he persisted or convinced them to let him do it. I was 11 or 12 years old when Rocky came out, and to this day it is still inspiring and is in my top 15 of American films. I watch it when it appears or is featured. I get a sentimental warm feeling about it. I also liked the movie , ' Nighthawks ' will Billy D. Williams and Rutger Hauer. Compared to other blockbuster Stallone films , his Nighthawks character wasn't about an over the top "action hero". The character as portrayed by Stallone was believable and he played a somewhat normal guy but who happens to be a clever and determined detective cop. I'd like to see more roles like that for Stallone, even at his current age. I can't imagine anyone who would not like Stallone , with his tenacity and persistence. He is Rocky.
A very likable person, he seems very humble and grateful for the career he's had. He's also, as far as I can remember, never preached to the public about what they should or shouldn't believe, or do. I respect that, and look forward to the next series of Tulsa King

I’m 52. Sly has been one of a handful of people who have inspired me through what they do and who they are. I’m glad I grew up in the 80’ s and 90’s.
Rocky is possibly the greatest film character ever created, pure inspiration
And Rambo, a close second, 😉

One of the remarkable stories altogether.

Rocky is cool 😎 Jesus is cooler
Sly taught me that perseverance is true strength.

Sly is a good humble man. A national treasure!

This man is a living legend, honestly, and seems so grounded. Even if he wasn't famous, I'd love to sit down and have a beer or two with this guy.
Sly most humble and always inspiring ❤
You can tell Sly loved this interview, it comes from your authenticity: well done!

Nighthawks
First Blood the ending when he was breaking down, Rocky when he was arguing in his apartment with Mickey were also incredible moments
What I find amazing about this interview is how a geezer I've never heard of with only 11k subs got to interview a living legend.
Good on ya son.
Thanks for this podcast! I mean it
I literally search for any updates from Sly every day or other on UA-cam
His films were the cornerstone of my teen years, Rocky, First Blood etc, just brilliant. He is a very fine actor too. Loved this👊
