  • NMN Bio founder discusses new supplement NAD+ Brain and explains why optimizing for slower brain aging and reduced cognitive decline is a no brainer.
NAD+ plays a critical role in molecular pathways that keep our bodies running, growing and repairing. As well as NAD+ demonstrating some antiaging properties, raising the levels of this essential co-enzyme in the body shows promising results when it comes to the fight against age-related cognitive decline. However, levels of NAD+ diminish with age, and this is where NMN comes in. NMN - or nicotinamide mononucleotide - is a naturally-occurring direct precursor of NAD+; increasing the amount of NMN building blocks available encourages the body to up the levels of NAD+ and thus help stem cognitive decline.
As longevity supplements grow in popularity, so too do the number of products. While some are highly pure and of reputable provenance, others are less so. When Elena Seranova, who holds an MSc in Translational Neuroscience and a PhD in Stem Cell Biology and Autophagy, couldn’t find a reliable supplier of NMN for herself and her family, she started her own company. Now the company's product line has expanded to include NAD+ Brain, a nootropic designed to improve focus and concentration, slow down aging in the brain, guard the brain from oxidative stress and inflammation, and preserve NAD+ in the brain. We caught up with Dr Seranova to find out more about NMN Bio’s new product line.

Well intentioned and I suppose better than nothing (but perhaps not also) but my experience to date is that no combination of supplements is going to make all that much of a difference to your cognition and how you experience your day to day life. It may help preserve what what you’ve got but if what you’ve got isn’t what you would like it be and for many this is precisely the reason for taking such products and perhaps the misguided notion they will help you live for hundreds of years, then in all likelihood it isn’t going to live up to its expectations and cost you a small fortune
