Hey Jamal, I've seen a number of requests asking how to send you stuff to your PO BOX. Can you post that again somewhere? Thanks! We appreciate you every day for what you do. And more importantly, for who you are. Much love my brother!
Probably not the best spot for a notification or request, but everyone's favorite cover king Leo Moracchioli released his cover of "Freebird" on Friday. It's amazing!
Apart from the very bad production by Rick Rubin which ruined the Death Magnetic album this song came from, this is the best song out of the 3 Unforgivens.
Another poster in another channel posted a nice synopsis of each theme: Unforgiven I: Can I forgive you? Unforgiven II: Can we forgive each other? Unforgiven III: Can I forgive myself?
I'll remeber my all life when i came home from the hospital after my daugther was born, it was 3am, alone on the road in my car, listening to "All nightmare long" to keep my eyes open til home. ^^
I love Unforgiven I and II (probably listened a couple of hundred times over the years), but after hearing III even just a couple of times after getting Death Magnetic, it's 100% my favorite of the trilogy.
in my opinion they really smashed it with Death Magnetic. Top tier album. Comparable with Master of puppets and ride the lightning (i'm aware of the audio issues it has tho)
The greatest thing about the S&M is famous director Francis Ford Coppola is a SF Symphony season ticket holder, and he came to the event, apparently not understanding the collaboration between the Symphony and Metallica. James said that he was disappointed and walked out! 🤣 I saw it in an interview. Not sure if it's saved on UA-cam but it might be in print online. Maybe it's in the S&M video.
Their last 2 albums (death magnetic and Hardwired...) are really good. Unfortunately, they got caught up in the loudness wars with Death Magnetic. So, the sound is iffy. But, Hardwired sounds terrific and James voice is fantastic. Unforgiven 3 is off DM.
Metallica could be so easily written off as just heavy music....truth is they have some of the most deep and heartfelt lyrics of any band....james says so much with so few words....absolutely extrordinary period !
To see someone's first reaction to hearing the lyrics "How can I be lost? If I've got nowhere to go". He said that are deep lyrics. Thats why this my band. Got me through alot of though times and the good times.
This trilogy means so much to me for many reasons. Things i had to do when I was in the military and things that happened to my brothers i carried hate, anger and guilt for a lot of years. It took a long time to understand that I had to forgive myself and let go of things I had no control over.
I've been a Metallica fan since high school , some years I fade out of it and so I have to caught up on there music so long story short I discovered this song about 10 years ago during a dark time and a rebounding of my life after a 17 year marriage to some one that just was a nightmare , and so once it was over it was just a rebounding of my life and so music, time and hard work got me back living ,not just Existing
Every reaction for this song...i just think"get ready for one of the best guitar solos you've ever experienced." Its just a very big ,painful cry.just effing brilliant!
Brother, you make me feel so much when I watch these reactions with you. I get even deeper into some songs than I do when I'm alone. Thanks for amplifying, analyzing, and being you. Peace and love brother. The world needs more like you. P.s. Man could you feel the anguish in that guitar solo!
I'm from Morocco, i'm fan of this great band, every day i listen that unbelievable trio of unforgiving, they toke me to an other world. I adore METTALICA
Thanks again for doing the full trilogy. Part three is off their criminally underrated Death Magnetic album, in part inspired by the death of Layne Staley.
My first time watching one of your videos, but as a long time Metallica fan and a lover of this song, you nailed it. It was really fun to watch your reaction to hearing this for the first time. The fact you centered in on the line "How can I be lost, if I've got nowhere to go" was so great, as I think that is one of the most personal and honest lyrics that James has every penned. Thank you!
I know Unforgiven off their self-titled that came out around 91. Don't know the second. This one, first time hearing with YOU!!! THANK YOU Jamel!!! It's what I am going thru in my life now.
The first and second verses give me the absolute chills. Great imagery with describing a wasted, regretful life with that of basically a pirate. That and the fact that drowning scares the hell outta me made this one a bit more personal. James digging into himself to pull out these thoughts has really helped people; you're stronger than you realize when you can show how vulnerable you've been.
When you listen to Ectasy of Gold you'll understand this beginning with the piano. Now you must watch the videos. These songs are a hella trilogy. And yes, James does have a great vocal range. Metallica is one of the best bands ever! I've been a fan of all of their music. Some hardcore fans don't care for the Black Album or any of their slower songs but I love them all! I'm 58...very close in age to James, and I love the bands' evolution.🙌
I said the other day that I preferred 3, others are good I preferred this. Got a little heat for that, it's fine. Some get butt hurt because your opinion isn't theirs. Peace
As much as I love the first 4 albums and criticized them a bit for "selling out" with the Black Album, I do enjoy a lot of their later music for what it is and still get crap from a lot of friends who insist that "Load" and "Reload" and pretty much everything after that are blasphemous abominations that should not exist. Back in the 90's when "Load" came out and people were giving it a lot of crap I used to ask them what they would say about the album if it was a new band instead of Metallica and most people thought about it a bit and said that if a new unknown band had released it as their first album they would think it was a really good record. So yeah, sometimes we limit ourselves a lot for no reason, like you say, just because we tend to assume change is a bad thing. Hell, I know I was sick and tired of "Enter Sandman" and "The Unforgiven" and all those song as as listener back then, so I can only imagine how the guys in Metallica felt about the prospect of having to play them forever and only be allowed to write songs similar to them for the rest of their lives. St. Anger still sucks, though! :D
@@jmhaces I mean Load and ReLoad were not close to the 4 prior Metallica albums in terms of impact but were solid efforts and would have been considered excellent works if they were by other bands. I think their only really crap album was St. Anger.
Metallica NEVER changed or sold out! They have made metal and have been putting out great music through addiction, death, Napster, and changing tastes, but Metallica keeps rocking HARD!
I’m glad you love this trilogy as much as I do.this is why I love Metallica , James had issues growing up in Scientology and has been through rehab an a lot more and has found a positive side of life.keep doing what you do,I enjoy your videos so much!!!
I agree, this is my favourite of the trilogy too. Off a great underrated album Death Magnetic. Amazing solo on it too, one of his best, the best one on the album for sure.
Of the three, this is my favorite. Thanks for reacting to this lesser known of the three songs, and giving it exposure to yourself and to your viewers. ~Be Blessed
The first time I heard this right after it was released, I nearly cried. It's like, I didn't know I needed a song like this in my life until I heard it. Crazy that a few years after this song was released, something happened that caused a LOT of problems, and I told someone that the lyrics to this song really show how I felt before the "something" and how I felt at that moment (after the fact.) Now some years later, I could easily say to someone, "If you wanna understand, listen to The Unforgiven 3 and then we can talk." ~Be Blessed.
You won't get many requests for this one because it's not close to Metallica's most popular songs, but Low Man's Lyric is on of my favs. Fixxer too, both from the Reload album. Literally don't think any reactor on youtube has done either of them, they are so underrated because they have so many other hits.
You must listen "Bleeding me" and "the outlaw torn" this are Metallica most unrated songs.First studio versions, and then this songs with sympfony orchestra...
Metallica have always opened their concerts with a cover of "The ecstasy of gold". also this song (part 1) is inspired by the music of Ennio Morricone. ua-cam.com/video/uQvLsifMZIE/v-deo.html
I'm of the firm belief that Unforgiven 3 smokes them all. Between the sole piano as an intro and the slow progression and finally straight up electric rock, it felt as if you were being dragged before the Grim Reaper himself. It was just beautiful.
Yo just want to point out something. The thing that Unforgiven 1 and 3 have in common is that the song is very metal but the main part (refrain) are both very chill, while Unforgiven 2 is a chill song with a heavy main part. Very cool how they structured it. 12:19 exactly, I'm happy you reacted to lyric videos first. The Music Videos can really throw someone off although they have something in common with the lyrics of the song but its very hard to understand so its good the way you did it. Awesome that you instantly got back to react to the rest when finding out that Unforgiven is a trilogy. Shows you care about your fans but not only that, you actually care about the music and you want to find new stuff and get more information. Amazing, Great Reaction. Would be cool if you react to *_Highlander (The One)_* by Lost Horizon, Incredible Power Metal song.
The Clint Eastwood movie Unforgiven came out in 1992, one year after the first Unforgiven song. The first Unforgiven song was on the Black album released in 1991. The Unforgiven 2 was on Reload released in 1997. The Unforgiven 3 was on Death Magnetic released in 2008
What really gets me in this song is right before the guitar solo. "Forgive me. Forgive me. Why can't I forgive me?" The emotion he puts on those lyrics with that sick solo just pulls at you.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was starting to think I was the only person out there who liked that song lol!! Your’s is one of very few comments about it I’ve ever seen on UA-cam outside of my own. But, yeah, “Bleeding Me” is massively underrated imo!
For some reason this "3" chapter hits me harder then previous 2 and its really amazing when a sequel equals the origins and even tops them. This is a brilliant, creative, full of inner strength, rage and vulnerability song and its so mature and still young in its energy. I love this song and i look at it as masterpiece in every aspect it carries.
Great reaction Jamal! You never disappoint. You have probably the highest musical acumen of all the reaction channels. That solo from Kirk Hammett was so powerful and beautiful like he was just trying to comfort the character in the song who's voice was given by James Hetfield and was like arms wrapping around the character who's spirit was completely broken. Just amazing and incredible.
I basically posted this in the #2 video but I’ll repost. To me, this is the trilogy: 1- I’m struggling to forgive them. Most angry. 2- I’m struggling to forgive you. Angry but reflective. 3- I’m struggling to forgive myself. Perhaps the most somber and reflective. Loneliness. Self-loathing.
I always enjoy watching the reactions of people who listen to this music that I grew up with. And it's true, a lot of people who hear the term "metal" as it pertains to music, have that reaction that it's just screaming and a whole lot of noise. But when I watch these reactions, when people realize that the lyrics have a profound meaning, it always puts a smile on my face. And, as others have said, the music you grew up with is indicative of your surroundings. I USED to listen to hip hop, techno, and those kinds of music. But when a friend of mine introduced me to my first real experience of metal (it was Guns and Roses, but it still counts!), and told me to actually LISTEN to the lyrics, that changed my musical life. And fortunately so, otherwise I might have NEVER listened to bands like Metallica, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Megadeth, and many more. Anyways, enough ramblings. Excellent reaction, Jamel! And welcome to the metal family! Better late than never! ;-)
I grew up listening to old country music & rock. Metallica was the first rock band I can remember hearing, Master of Puppets, it changed me & I have been a huge rock & metal fan ever since!!! You should listen to Until It Sleeps & The Memory Remains!! Amazing songs!! Just like all their music!! & I love that shirt you're wearing!!!! I couldn't agree more & I will be buying one!!
This is my favorite of the three! 🔥🤘🏽🔥🤘🏽🔥 I agree that one show hear the music first before watching a music video. Because, more often than not, music videos are the directors' vision of what the song means. Since music is subjective to the listener, people shouldn't be influenced by outside input.

James is a lyrical genius. Metallica’s lyrics always hit so hard.
Very underrated lyrically, in my opinion anyway
Forgiving yourself is the hardest of them all, for it's the one we feel least deserving of.
So true. 😞
Kirk Hammet's solo is Amazing here.
Agreed, one of my favorite solos.
It's like Kirk did a Kirk/Metallica version of a David Gilmour solo. IMO his best and I love his other ones.
The riff behind the solo is really good too.
Best solo ever. Good when you listen but when you actually know the lyrics and listen…it’s beautiful. Perfect.
You can feel James Hetfield's Soul in this one. I really feel his pain
Just like Until It Sleeps
I haven't seen anyone suggest "Until it Sleeps" which is all about Hetfield dealing with his mom's cancer while he was a teenager.

The worst part about still being a huge Metallica fan is trying to convince the old fans that Death Magnetic and Hardwired are actually good. :/
Death was a bit of a stumble, but Hardwired kicks ass!
Death Magnet is great album IMO great on a long road trip
Great reaction Jamal! You never disappoint. You have probably the highest musical acumen of all the reaction channels. That solo from Kirk Hammett was so powerful and beautiful like he was just trying to comfort the character in the song who's voice was given by James Hetfield and was like arms wrapping around the character who's spirit was completely broken. Just amazing and incredible.
Thanks for another reaction video. Appreciate it! I didn't even know there was an Unforgiven 3, I've only heard the two first.
Thank you for appreciating the artistic value of rock/metal music. Love it!
the day that never comes for sure!
I basically posted this in the #2 video but I’ll repost.
To me, this is the trilogy:
1- I’m struggling to forgive them. Most angry.
2- I’m struggling to forgive you. Angry but reflective.
3- I’m struggling to forgive myself. Perhaps the most somber and reflective. Loneliness. Self-loathing.
Definitely go back and watch the videos, Jamel, you’ll enjoy them
Have you reacted to Metallica's The Memory Remains? It's another good one.
Reaction to :
Metallica: bleeding me
Metallica: outlaw torn
Metallica: no leaf clover
My favorite of the trilogy. The only other reactor I've seen so the 3rd one is Alex Hefner. Great song, great reaction.
Those words! OMG WHAT POWER! I can relate to the meaning!
This was one of those goosebump, “he’s got no idea what he’s getting into” moments.
Unforgiven was the Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman western, and no sadly they didn't use Metalica in the movie.
Better late than never! ;-)
My favorite solo on any metallica song .
One of my favorite metallica songs.
It took several listens before I really appreciated it. Put this one on a regular playlist!
Dude, Metallica endorse and perform with another band I love. They're called Ghost. Look into them, you will not be disappointed
The remastered version of this song is a big improvement in sound quality
I grew up listening to old country music & rock. Metallica was the first rock band I can remember hearing, Master of Puppets, it changed me & I have been a huge rock & metal fan ever since!!! You should listen to Until It Sleeps & The Memory Remains!! Amazing songs!! Just like all their music!! & I love that shirt you're wearing!!!! I couldn't agree more & I will be buying one!!
This solo. This is the solo. Wow.
Death Magnetic is such a GREAT album!!!! THE WHOLE ALBUM!!!!! 🎸 🎶 🥁
I can see each of these songs as an individual act in a play or movie.
This is my favorite of the three! 🔥🤘🏽🔥🤘🏽🔥
I agree that one show hear the music first before watching a music video. Because, more often than not, music videos are the directors' vision of what the song means. Since music is subjective to the listener, people shouldn't be influenced by outside input.
