  • This is a follow on video to me video response to Brent0331s current contest. It’s a breakdown of the pack I would use for his scenario of a 72 hour recon/observation mission.

Hiya mate great video! You’ve probably already found out by now but those side pouches found on the side of the British haversack are primarily used for spare canisters and decontamination kit, but like you said they can hold any manner of items!

Nice kit. Very simple and practical. Glad to see someone bringing up London Bridge's equipment also. They make quality gear. The wooby hoody is a great choice too.

Did you modify the e-tool pouch to have standard ITW nexus buckles? It looks like the Dutch Molle E-tool cover, with a different buckle. If so, how hard was it to modify, and how did you go about doing that?
Great content, really looking forward to your future videos; the Alice Pack video was great!

      Thanks for the comment.
Yes I did modify it. It was easy enough to do. Seam ripper and a razor to remove the buckle and straps for the existing Spanish buckle. I used a Surface mount female buckle, which is super simple. Just line up where the four holes need to be for the underside of the buckle. I heated up a Phillips screw driver with a light and poked holes through. Then finished snapping the female buckle together. Quick sew job for a strap for the male buckle. Super easy, less than 15 minutes. Took the most time to heat up the screw driver.

Nice pack! 35L? I hear that's about the right size for a 3-day. Looks like you have quite a bit of gear in and on the outside of it. Your right about conducting recon/observation work in cold and wet weather - not fun! Some dry layers and hot coffee (if possible) can take the edge off. Did I miss 'where' you obtained the woobie hoodie from?

I think that woobie was from Zero Foxtrot.
