I'm down with the kid protesting his school district's hairstyle policy, as that is only a matter of personal free expression and hurts nothing. But cell phones are a proven distraction and cheating tool, so I back the school here.
Ordinarily, I would agree with the school...however, I am concurring with the students on this. If an emergency happens at school (i.e., shooter, lockdown, fire, etc.), the kids need a way to contact their parents. Even if there's a problem with kids using their phones when/where they shouldn't, I'd rather trust my (future) child to have a phone and still make the right choices than to give the school any leverage of power to take my child's phone away.
I am sorry but cell phone should not be allowed in school. The parents that they interviewed probably were not A student's. Are they're 2:20 going to do is cheat and play but the school system really doesn't want these kids to really learn anything. This is all about control, not about learning and they need to be under control because these children have gotten out of hand because the parents aren't the same.
Good your the students, cell phones are allowed in prisons and should be allowed in schools. It’s a safety issue. The fighting is not cool that needs to stop immediately.
Would one of your "reporters" please identify the person who made this horrible cell phone decision? The story should have started with that person. If all those students decide not to come to school until the cell phone issue is repealed, then what? Are they going to shut down the school? Singling out only one school out of the largest school district in the entire state was extra stupid! We have no gun restrictions in the state of Texas. This is the most gun happy state in the union, and they want to make the students even more vulnerable by taking their phones? How do they expect them to call for help? The kids are right, in my opinion. 🙁🙁🙁
Take the phones out of the school. They are there to learn
Kids don't make demands they follow orders and rules
You cant have phones at work yall need to be studying not on the phones sigh

Then your part of the problem my friend
Kids needs their phone especially with ho dangerous schools are today! Kids need to be able to contact parents or authorities in case of an emergency.
They'll be kept in their lockers. Otherwise these kids are on their phones in class, not learning
