The HV battery pack is not under the rear seat as the hybrid version, but under the floor. On the Prime the HV charger and the DC-DC converter (for charging the 12V battery) are located under the rear seat.
Thanks for your video. We have a 2022 RAV 4 Prime SE (all wheel drive) and we have been getting 45-50 miles of electric range and once the battery is depleted 45+ MPG just on the gas motor. I don't know of any all wheel drive SUV available that can beat that. We paid MSRP in March , now with the Oregon EV rebate, $2,500, and the Federal Tax credit, $7,500, our final price was $33, 600 total, ( sun roof option / tax/license/reg/ etc) out the door. Price would have been the same or even less than if we had purchased a RAV 4 Hybrid model at MSRP.
Sam, I also live in the Phoenix area but love to head off in to the mountainous areas around our State. I am not talking technical, rock-crawling Jeep trails, but do you think it could competently handle dirt roads, mountain roads, BLM roads (think of where you'd take a Subaru Forester) to get you to the river, lake or trailhead? I realize you'd probably want to put some all-terrain tires on for such things. Problem for me is I need a car sooner than a year or two, which is how long the wait is for one of these--too bad, would love to get one. Thanks, and great review!
Everything went right out the window, at about 3:12, when you showed the interior for the first time, and that STUPID LOOKING Infotainment system Screen that is Stuck ON TOP of the center Dash, is sticking out like a Afterthought ! Please, Please to ALL AUTO MAKERS ...S.T.O.P. this Stupid Ugly looking trend ! If you can't figure out a way to intergrade the Screen INTO the Dash and Design, just forget it ! Why are you getting Paid?
I have a suggestion. You might consider a collaborative effort review with Sarah -n- Tuned. I think the two of you together would be popular beyond belief. I believe both of you are conveniently located.
Berndt, Hello my Hawaiian friend. I have spoken to you a few times on Rav4world. I know you will not have issues in the winter, but my range in mid 20’s has dropped from 44 to 34 miles Enjoy Russ
How expensive is it to replace those fancy headlamp systems out of warranty or the batteries? Can one override that complex breaking system on icy roads?
Great review Sam. Who ever thought that you’d be able to make the tires chirp on a RAV4 during acceleration. And more than 300 horsepower....it just goes to show how far Toyota has come with the RAV4. That big grin on your face and your giggle was the best! Like you, I love the metallic red and black color combo. And your boots and shirt complement the car very well.
Hopefully post Covid waiting times might lessen. I have had my 2003 Rav 4 from new. Extremely reliable. I hope to buy one in 2022 June. Shall get my kiwi 🥝 saver out as I shall be 65 in May 2022. Auckland. NZ
@@toronado455 I shall do my friend. Toyota dealer latest update is mine is arriving in late April. Apart of last years pre orders no more hybrids will be available this year in the RAV4. And I pre ordered mine last year.
Best car reviewer I've come across in years! Great job.
What a beautiful car! 😍

This variant made RAV4 more compelling for buyers transitioning to full EV Ace review
Prius Prime does this as well. I own one and love it!
@@CandycaneBeyond sorry but people want good looking vehicles to compare tl

In Toronto, Canada, there is already a 4-year waiting list to get one. Everyone has to put a $1,000 deposit down for one and wait 4 years.
That’s because most are going to Quebec where the province offers a $8000 rebate in addition to the federal $5000.
I love that your docs match the rav4
Great review! Thanks....already ordered a red xse!!

Is that the same guy from the Brawny Paper Towel commercials? Bold move! Love it!

Awesome thanks for the video
Dude your laces match
I would wonder whats avg cost in elec to charge and get you 42 miles and warranty/life of batteries.
Sam, Romper Stomper?!
Great review!!! Others should take note.
12:58 LOLZ 😂.
Gr8 job Sam
Did you do this review in Tucson AZ? Where they aren’t even selling them in AZ at the moment? 😩 haha
We are in the Phoenix metro area. We get many press vehicles before they go on the market.
The biggest issue with this car - nearly 2-year waiting queue. It suffers from obliterating demand.
4-year waiting list in Ontario, Canada.
Is there any posibility that you can make your own solar panel battery charger ?
Sure. It might cost more than the car but knock yourself out.
Nice review. Starting to look more seriously at hybrids.
Can you add a tow package to this
Yes Toyota has a hitch which is cut into the bumper. There are also aftermarket units. Same unit for RAV4 2020.
Looks like a beaut!
Crazy expensive.
Damn, daddy!
Very attractive 😍
dr. Martens 🤟🤘🤙✌🚦👍Rav4
Nice boots lol
These things are sold out for the next 2 years why show it when you can’t buy it.
Some of us still like to see reviews and dream of owning one in 4 or 5 years time.
Keep looking, there are a few available at MSRP at various dealers.
