- Hi guys,
The new Marlin 2.0 has been around for some time now but many people still have some questions about...how the new Marlin works in comparison with the older versions and there have been some myths about this new version as well.
In this video, we will cover some of those myths and unveil the truth...

An underrated Channel when it comes to 3D-Printing. I like your dual Moderation.
Great update
I had massive problems with the editor/platform I/O.
I had to uninstall all of it, and start over again.
Thanks for sharing 👍😀
Cool video and happy with the return of Sandra :) Thanks Rui ;)
Excellent, now I have the confidence to update my firmware. Thank you
Nice
I was able to successfully use marlin 2.0 (bugfix) on my Ender 3 stock board. With abl (inductive probe), baby stepping, linear advance and some other stuff with also the security features enabled. Had to disable some like arc and SD support. But since I use octoprint, not having the SD wasn't and issue.
Now I upgraded to skr mini e3 V2. A beast!
Agreed with all statements in this video. Now a question: What would you use as a 8 bit board for a printer, a Creality stock board vs Arduino Mega 2560?
Big fan from Argentina, cheers!
Hi Gonzalo, if i wanted to use an 8bit board for a 3d printer, i would choose one with the mega 2560 MCU instead. Probably an MKS Gen L for example. It has twice the programing memory, extra I/Os and removable drivers. Best regards from Portugal
How can I get the information about the list shown in 3:32 ?
Hi Tan, that list was made by us during several tests.
I have a Tevo Flash with the E3D Hemera direct drive hotend, If I install Marlin 2.0 will I loose the settings for the BLTouch and nozzle positions etc or will they get carried over ?
You'll need to re-do them.
@@kaseyboles30 Thanks.
To truly stress the boards, have it run a delta printer. Cartesians actual do minimal math and comparing that is quite meaningless.
True, however, those printers normally run boards with the ATmega2560. We wanted to show with the creality board since it was a subject of discussing about this myth.
lol. Who came up with the myth that a microcontroller can be overheated with more calculations? A basic microcontroller like the ATmega always runs at 100% "cpu load". It doesn't make a difference for the controller wheter it's doing useful calculations or waitcycles. It's designed for that. :)
You are correct. We included that myth in the list after seeing some people discussing that issue in one group. The tests revealed that exact reality.
Hi, thank you for this info... will the flash process be the same as on this older video? (ua-cam.com/video/-DBFMyEKoDw/v-deo.html)
Hi, yes it's the same. We also have a video with the tornado which is more recent.
Your intro is creepy
