I admire that you are still using D500/D4 and get better images than most of a bunch of wildlife photographers, who rave about mirrorless and are obsessed with equipment..Big like. Cheers from another D500 user..
"this is wild nature.." you hit it right on the head brother. Wildlife photography, especially bird photography, is therapy for the mind and soul. The noise of the wind, the whispers of the songs from the birds is nothing short of meditation. Being out in Gods creation away from the chaos of life is awe inspiring. Great shots of the hawk,Trond.
Wow, what a video! There are some great shots in it again. It makes you a little envious... I'm looking forward to Christmas, because I'm getting a new camera and then my channel will really get going 😂
Hey Trond, by far my prefer video you produced. Nice momentum, incredible photos, choice of music is perfect. WOW ! Thanks, that was a pretty good moment.
Really loved your video Trond. My favorite photo is the one where he looks over his shoulder.I was rooting for you as I was watching your video. I kept saying, look over your shoulder look over your shoulder. I'm delighted you got that shot.
Cracking Portraits there Trond, what amazing birds they are such bold and striking colours, plus the eyes are amazing... Maybe one day I'll be lucky enough to photograph them. Great Vlog as always. Cheers R 😀
Excellent video Trond, that is one stunning looking bird. After been out in the cold this morning I really have to get me a pair of those gloves!! Cheers Keith
Hello Trond, thank you very match for your nice video. The colors from the goshawk are very beautiful, the image on 12.09 on the time amazing. Keep safe, regards from Marco
Tack Trond, härlig film igen, och tack för tipsen med Topaz Denise. Den 17 Jan sitter jag i gömsle i Gysinge, Sverige, och väntar på fina fåglar. Du gör ett fantastiskt jobb. God Jul på dij.
That intro gives me that adventure feel. Like sitting out in the marsh waiting to hear the black grouse feel. I miss these things so much right now, thanks for a piece of calm, Trond :)
Hey Trond, the Goshawk is a beautiful but fierce bird of pray. It looked like it was pretty cold. It's great to see your video this week I missed them on my Saturday morning. Awesome still photos and video! Greg
Trond, you have moved all the excitement in to our house. It was an incredible time during the 13 minutes you shared with us. I dont recall how many times I rewinded and watched again the most excited parts. Thank you so much!..
Great video i love all birds of prey the thing i am sure you know i would point out to you is that your shutter is so noisy that it would scare the birds away
What a beautiful birds of prey you hv managed to take some outstanding frame love it Hv a wonderful weekend Stay safe...and also can't wait to see for upcoming video which was you share the information regarding you and Morten hilmer 🤞
I want to entertain you and make you laugh with some true stories that happened in the last few weeks. I feed birds and I get a lot more than my share of hawks visiting. On two occasions just recently, I opened my window and with a big spoon and pan, I was drumming as loud as I could out of my window. That had no effect on the hawks. Then I grabbed my camera and took pictures of them while they were watching me knowing I don't like them still with my window open. I think one was a sharp shinned hawk and the other was a Cooper's hawk. Not to sound like a wiseazz, but we both got good pictures. You did it in extreme hiding mode in that hut, and I did it while being as obnoxious as possible just short of shooting fireworks while hanging out of my building. Maybe accipers that hunt in people's backyards are conditioned to tolerate folks that want them to go elsewhere. Just stuff that crossed my mind as I watched how invisible you tried to be compared to when I was wondering how many neighbors I would be disturbing. Haha. Wildlife photography is an awesome interest, thanks for sharing.
Extremely well made video, as usual, Trond. But your stills of the goshawk are absolutely exquisite. I'm guessing that I see a Z9 in your future if for no other reason than to get rid of that clacking shutter. I could tell that the birds noticed it and didn't hang around much after you shot stills on continuous mode. I have the same situation with my D850 but since I don't shoot video I'm not sure I will make the move.
Fantastic shots and beautiful video! Goshawk are such stunning birds. What apertures do you typically shoot these larger birds at? I tend to struggle with getting them all sharp at times without sacrificing too much light.
Hi trond! I really have been enjoying your work almost since the beginning of your channel and I really have to congratulate you for your work! I have to ask you if you change your tint in lightroom, because some of your photos seem to be a little too magenta. Is that on purpose?
Why not using a mirrorless camera with an electronic shutter for the skittish Goshawk. The shuttersound is enough to scare some birds away. The shots are wonderful though.
I admire that you are still using D500/D4 and get better images than most of a bunch of wildlife photographers, who rave about mirrorless and are obsessed with equipment..Big like.

This! Exactly this! Im a D500 user and I simply love it. So happy to see Trond using one.

Hey this is Kalpak Sawant do you remember or you forgot....
I love this video very very much
Hi! I remember....you made a cool picture of me :) Thanks a lot

Thank you so much for your time and effort. Great footage and pics. Did you bait the perches?
Fantastic shots and beautiful video! Goshawk are such stunning birds.

do you have tips on a new nikon camera
😃📷
Depends on your budget, but I love the D500 as a crop camera. And I think you can get a great deal on this camera second hand.
Hi trond! I really have been enjoying your work almost since the beginning of your channel and I really have to congratulate you for your work! I have to ask you if you change your tint in lightroom, because some of your photos seem to be a little too magenta. Is that on purpose?
Hi! I never change the tint. But with that said, I personally like the cold and warm tones together.
@@trondwestby and why dont you change? doesnt the camera get it wrong sometimes?
hey Trond.. "for this specific shoot" did you used a bait to lure the raptors?
Hi Banji! I put out roadkill
Sir whic which camera model do you use?
Any ways love to see you vlog😍❤️
In the video I used the nikon D5. Thanks Bomjar 🙏😀
Why not using a mirrorless camera with an electronic shutter for the skittish Goshawk. The shuttersound is enough to scare some birds away. The shots are wonderful though.
When Z9 comes my way I will :)
Still whispering again 😄
where is this? and how do you know what location to shoot? how do you know where the birds are going to be?
when did you get the D5 Trond?
🤫👍👌
