Raisina Dialogue 2024 | The European Union and several of its Member States have developed strategies in recent years to step up engagement with the Indo-Pacific. These strategies recognise the importance of the region to Europe’s growth, trade, and economic security, amid concerns on the US-China rivalry. However, newer concerns about security in Europe’s own neighbourhood have raised questions about its commitment to the Indo-Pacific.
How does Europe’s leadership view the need to de-risk its supply chains in the region, and how will it incentivise businesses to contribute to economic security and reduce dependence on China?
Given the importance of the Ukraine war to Europe, will there be any capacity left for the continent to meaningfully engage with the Indo-Pacific?
How do the EU and its members address existing networks in the region, such as the Quad?

How many Endians know that British East Endian company learnt meritocratic system from China and implemented it, the IAS IPS Judges installed by passing exams was implemented in Endia before Europe, but the difference is IAS directly becomes the head of a district while in Meritocratic China you have to start from bottom and only promoted upwards based on your skills.

Europe india need economic cooperation..but mutual trust has to grow. Accusing eachother is not good. After all Europe was in bed with communist China,india is a democracy..no preaching to india time to time. We dont preach to europe. We are sensitive..we were after all colonised by Europe.. politically we have differences. India canbe New China. China was friends of Russia.. how did Europe digest that? Why lecture india. We are not sending forces to fight for Russia.. but expecting us to totally abandon them is not rational. Europe has made no such sacrifice for india. Have financed armed Pakistan and china. Strategic partner, but not allies.
