It’s sad we still have people here saying they can’t get this gun.
Ya I live in Hellifornia
And hearing that it’s not accessible in other states is wild 😂
It's sad that the second amendment needs to be interpreted I believe it is meant to be interpreted how it reads period .....
I can’t get this gun
F those states, move. Lots of opportunities elsewhere.
Don’t worry those states are working on legislation to outlaw this one too
I didn't even know threaded barrels were outlawed in 3 states until just now. That's insane. Reduced flash (flash hider) = illegal, reduced deafening noise (suppressor) = illegal, reduced recoil (comp) = illegal. Wow
The level of insanity should tell you that the statues are illegal.
As an unfortunate Californian, this gun is definitely on my radar now
I believe all semiauto rifles are illegal in Washington State now. I live in Washington and the law past a year or two ago. Fortunately I was able to stock up before the ban. They also banned the sale or transfer of any magazine with more than 10 rounds. The Supreme Court needs to strike down these crazy laws!!
What do you expect when people who know nothing about firearms write laws about firearms?
yep illegal in Washington, cant have a shroud, or threaded barrel.
These are a cool rifle. I kind of get Browning A5 shotgun vibes from the rear shape of the receiver.
Thought the same thing. The sharp drop off on the receiver is stark
based
Hilarious because I was raised on a Pogo stick and just picked this br4 up for the feel.
I like CMMG. I liked the Banshee a lot. I LOVE the Dissent. When CMMG announced the BR4 I wasn't sure there was really a market for it, however, I wasn't aware of the 47 state thing, so, it sounds like another smart move for CMMG.
Posts like this are 100% why i moved from NY to Iowa 3 months ago.
CT to Texas for me. So glad I moved.
Hawaii to Georgia
Welcome to the state!
Welcome to the great state of Iowa!
Enjoy the freedom 💛
I like that you get your wife involved and the assistant. The more involved with proper firearm usage and fun, the better!!
Who's really the assistant?
Someone's loading mags :P
This thing is actually pretty cool. I appreciate a company actually acknowledging that there are people who want to arm themselves in states that aren't free. Sig did the same but you can almost get two of these for the same price as Sig's Ranch Rifle
They should move.
Lemme just pack my whole career up real quick. Should be REALLY easy.
@@wonderbread6100 You should. You accept limitations on your constitutional rights.
honestly the profile of it actually looks pretty cool, it breaks the mold of all the AR copycats while not being some weird abomination that is trying to not be a pistol grip while also refusing to be a traditional rife stock.
I'm waiting for somebody to make an American SKS with a fixed mag to get around the BS, and with a stripper clip guide.
$1,900.00 at Bass Pro Shops. For me the aiming is better than the regular AR.
From Illinois here. Only thing I can purchase here are basically break barrels, lever guns, revolvers, and SOME handguns. Shits rough boys.
I just found 3 on the wall at 2A Zone in Upland, CA. They're selling at MSRP. It's still out of my price range, but if anyone's in the area I'd find it hilarious if I show up to pick up my lower for my next build and they say they sold them in a day. I think I will be saving for one though. After looking it over, it's a rifle I wouldn't mind having even in a free state. You could feel the quality, and for a featureless rifle, it felt incredibly ergonomic. It's even better than the standing featureless grip champion, the juggernaut grip.
The fact that's not even 50 state legal is just unconstitutional. The ar platform as a whole should be legal in all 50 states with no restrictions.
EVERYTHING should be 50 state legal.
A great person once told ne don't deal with what SHOULD be but what is. If you don't like what is....change it
The 2nd Amendment says all arms are 50 state legal.
@@thelastminuteman7513incorrect. The 2nd amendment only applied to the federal government infringing on our right. It wasn’t until the 14th amendment that the Bill of Rights was applied to the states. Specifically, the 2nd amendment was not applied to the states until Heller (2008)
@@lucasblanchard47nukes? Bad argument
The color is just eff-ing amazing on this gun, so great
ALL guns are ALL State LEGAL. It's called the 2nd amendmant and it says SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED that means NO LIMITS of ANY KIND
That's a stupid comment as there are people rotting in prison for violating various laws. STFU
Thats great to say and is true, remind your guards about that while sitting in jail in one of the Socialist states. I lived in CA until a few years ago and never bothered with an AR until I moved out of state. You and I don't have the money to fight the State. So until the SCOTUS gets off it's collective butt and rules on one of the Assault weapons bans your better off with your 12 round .357 lever gun or a straight stock Ruger PC carbine.
You must live in a free state. It's easy to say until you face being a fellon. I'm not losing my Government job, lol
@@scottgagliardi5933Yep everyone’s a badass with their 2A stance until an armed platoon comes to arrest you for a felony offense. Doesn’t really matter how correct your 2A stance is when you’re sitting in prison.
You could also take a look at the Foxtrot Mike Ranch rifle. They came out before the Sig one did, but bless their hearts people already have forgotten or never heard about them to begin with.
Hopefully, FM is licensing 'em... 😎
They seem hard to find, there are 3 on Gunbroker right now at about half the price of the CMMG.
Yeah I live in Illinois not far from St. Louis, own 1/2 acre of campground in Missouri that I can also build on, which currently has a camper on it with electric supply. Maybe I can switch my primary address to the camper lol.
And as of August 1 you can't get this in Massachusetts!...Because our state sucks!!
What happened? Why not?
And why can’t the other three states use this gun?
@@theserenitypodcast7570 a bunch of new regulations that were rushed through the state gov't, banning and criminalizing pretty much EVERYTHING! It's just another gun-grab against legal law-abiding citizens
@@chasethenomad7498Illinois ban “assault” weapons they have a huge list of guns that aren’t legal now and can’t own handguns over 15rd mag
@@jayoglesby9685 that’s stupid.
*Massachusetts casually banning guns with a HANDGUARD today....*
Ma really sucks. Talk about infringement.
lmao, better get those thermal insulated gloves before they ban those next
funny how my fellow New Englanders went from throwing tea to not being able to legally own a musket anymore
Welcome to the party, bud. *Cries in WA*
Anything with a trigger..coming soon.
Gotta change that to 46 state legal after August 1st because Massachusetts just changed their laws again 🤬
@@jayborges537 honestly not surprised, unfortunately.
Just posted this as well, our state reps suck!
Maybe live in an American state, then Massachusetts laws won't matter😆
Colorado legislators, dem super majority, bring up silly bans EVERY year. This last one the "keep Colorado safe act" was close to passing but failed. A few legislators said they intend to bring up a new bill next session. That's all they do. As Denver crumbles and they take a majority red state into the crapper with them. And NO, we didn't vote for this, the Cali transplants took over.
Did the British came around again to take the muskets away... ?
I love the Monsanto Air Force joke. Actually there was a duster spraying right next to my farm while I was watching this and I was hearing the same noise outside so I didn’t even realize it was in your video until you said that.
I love that you almost promote helping out community service organizations. super cool man and youre the only guy doing, much love and respect for that
Not legal in Illinois unfortunately- going to go cry now
Thanks to Governor Fata$$
If you build it, it will come...
Literally. Of all places I KNEW IL would be one if those 3 lol
Only illegal if you get caught
Move lol
I'm still baffled at CMMG's latest prices on their products...I remember when they weren't any kind of "high end" gun, but everything is now $2K+ realm.
Yeah fuck that. Their guns are nowhere near worth the same as JP enterprises prices
I was astonished at the price as well. You can get a quality AR for much less than that and not get funky controls.
@@JF-lt5zc Well yeah, you wouldn't buy this over a normal AR unless you either like the look or live in a state where your other option is some stupid featureless AR.
Seriously that’s ridiculous for a stripped down ar. PSA gives the people what they need and at a price anyone can afford.
Agreed, if the idea of the gun is to get into the hands of a bunch of people and make it widely accessible, the price should accessible too. I'm in California, the reason I don't own a semi auto rifle isn't the legality of what I want, it's the prices.
Glad I left IL a few years ago for the northwoods of WI. Cut property tax by 50% and went from 1/4 acre to 10 acres. And I got to keep my ARs!
Good for you man
Great review as always. Thank you from behind enemy lines in communist Connecticut. I'm surprised you mounted your red dot so high. For that stock you could mount it low on the rail and be lined up with your cheek on the comb.
Hard to believe this thing is legal to own in California. What does that say about New York, Illinois, and Washington?
FKH
Flash Hider on a semi auto, automatically a No-Go in New York. Not sure about Illinois and Washington. From the looks of other people's comments, it's not Legal in Illinois either.
@@alphabloodhawkI thought it was a comp
Incorrect the flash hider is fine but it must be pinned to the barrel. It’s the “threaded barrel” that’s the illegal part.
We can’t have that type of handguard or barrel shroud either
Illinois here.....😢
And NY 😭
Worst state in the union representing
@@d3m1gawd81 Agreed 👍
No way I'd live there or in any of the autocratic states. I guess I'm lucky to have that luxury.
Cries in Chicago 😢
I’ve got 4 dissents and I’m all in on this CMMG gun. The 6 arc shoots lights out. 9mms great, got 2. 300 blackout suppressed is 2nd to none.
Actually a company called fightlite industries with the scr line that first started the rifle/shotgun stock
Actually, a company called Ares Defense released the SCR back in 2014 (maybe announced in 2013.) They later rebranded their small arms division to FightLite Industries. ;-) I have a couple of the original 'A' logo (Ares branded) ones. They were terrible in getting inventory out to the market in the early years around when NY's SAFE Act was passed, so they missed an opportunity to really capture the market. Now, Sig, CMMG, Foxtrot Mike, etc, have all released their takes. Most of those use piston uppers, which allows them to use 870 stocks, rather than the Ares/FightLite's use of an 1100 stock to accommodate the bolt carrier 'rat tail' (you can put a piston upper on it, and then change to an 870 stock.)
Good info. That first round would have gotten me worried as well, good to see it had no problems after that. Since I'm considering buying one of these (I live in CA), I'd be very interested in seeing a full review.
Btw if they offered this without a threaded barrel or muzzle device (or if you just pin/welded a thread protector to it), that thing would be legal in the entire state of NY including NYC which has its own separate ban on the entire AR platform (as well as a few other weapon platforms). I think the only reason this isn't sold in NY is because of that brake, NY has a ban on all muzzle devices (unless you go fixed mag) and the only exception are ones that are purely cosmetic and don't substantively improve performance.
people in the UK have more gun rights damn...
Yeah, I was thinking, "just change the muzzle, and it should be good-to-go in NY." Of course, you now need a permit to purchase any semi-auto rifles in NY, so there is that hurdle, too.
They’re offering one now
Given that the Dissent uses an AR-style bolt and I believe a floating firing pin with a proprietary carrier, your "light strike" was more probably a failure of the bolt to seat fully in battery, preventing the hammer from reaching the firing pin (same as the AR bolt carrier group is designed to do to avoid out of battery firing). The firing pin moves forward under inertia just enough to lightly dimple the primer. Often the impact of the hammer on the bottom rear edge of the carrier (the design feature that prevents out of battery firing) sends the bolt fully home, leading the operator to believe that a "light strike" has occurred. I've seen it many times working for an AR manufacturer. Well presented video on an interesting take on the AR that can be sold in more "restricted" states... unfortunately, I think that the price is likely to be something of a turn-off.
her artsy cuts get me every time😅
Fight Lite also offers the SCR as a lower receiver or complete rifle. The SCR uses regular AR-15 uppers. They were the first to come up with this idea. Everyone else is just copying their homework.
Great video, Chris! Keep up the good work! God bless you and your family
"Im an AR Girl." I love it !! Being a half of a Mr. Mrs. Team myself, I love seeing Mrs. Honestoutlaws' opinions
I’m glad I live in a free state! 🇺🇸
CMMG is known mainly for meme guns and meme caliber conversions, but they actually make really good quality parts.
Just an FYI youtube unsubscribed me. Great video!
This style of AR is cool, and I’ll buy one as soon as there is an AR-10 version.
Massachusetts native here, this might be about to be outlawed here too :(
Take them to the Supreme Court. What they are doing is unconstitutional
August 1st: aaaaaand it’s gone
Wouldn’t be legal if it wasn’t pinned welded anyways.
I'm aware of 2 other versions of this, the First being the Sig version, the other being the Foxtrot mike version, all of them kinda bug me, just because of how dorky they look. Huge AR fan, love the way they handle, I get it that not every state can have them.
What I would like to see is a modernization of the Ruger Mini-14. AR-ify it. Don't just make it tacti-cool, make it a halogenation of an AR and the Mini. Its ok to use proprietary components, similar to what the Ruger SFAR is, but Ideally, it should be able to take AR components to make it actually look cool
I'm from IL and my significant other is from WA. Sad day
Indeed all law abiding citizens should have access to this innovation. Dang blue states anyway 😅
I like it! Price is high but I agree it's a quality looking firearm. I'm sure this would change the legality in some states but would it take a pistol grip 870 stock? I grew up Fud-style and have done a lot of trap/upland hunting so this layout would be an easy transition like you said. I appreciate CMMG bringing out something that fills a definite void in the market.
I'm in Washington State
I'm a Washingtonian as well.
Every Citizen should have the same rights under the Constitution. Our god given rights should not change across state borders. An American is an American no matter where they live in this country.
I am in Washington too…. Last few years I’ve been buying what I can.
Unfortunately our corrupt worthless loser governor has violated our rights. He needs to go and rights need to be restored.
I got a CMMG Mutant back when they came out and it rocks! I like most all the CMMG creations!
Great so happy I'm in NY 👍🏽. Anyone hiring in a free state?
Yikes. Glad I ex-scaped!
Austin, TX is growing and hiring, for sure.
i travel for a living so it doesnt matter at all where i live, though i think the company is done hiring for a while
Left Hawaii for Georgia five years ago. Moving sucks but you have to just grin and bear it.
We need corrections officers in Alachua County Florida. Come get certified.
I'm glad to hear honest outlaw likes things that come from Missouri we're pretty fond of you boys in Iowa too. Love your great videos Man
Man, I'm glad I live in a free state.
Be on guard or your state could be next.
@TheJHMAN1 I literally live in the most Red state in this country. We are literally more Red than TX and that's a literal fact backed by voting. One reason is that we hold our politicians accountable.
Definitely would love to see how it compares to the Sig. Love the videos and the honesty you put into them. Anytime I am looking to purchase another gun, I always see if you reviewed it.
In addition to the Sig Regulator comparison, there is the Fightlite SCR for further comparison among the three.
Why the AR height riser on the optic when the gun doesn't have a straight line stock?
They seem to have something against a decent cheek weld. Makes no sense.
I just picked mine up. Took a dry fire and the trigger feels awesome. Thanks for the review. By the way, what optic are you using?
Live in Illinois and I yelled so loud when are name came up
I always clean and inspect every firearm I buy, used or new. You wouldn't believe the garbage (metal manufacturing swarf) I've found in brand new, out of the box guns. Not sure if you mentioned if you did or not. Anyway, a stoppage in the first few mags is not a dealbreaker for me. If i'm going to use a firearm for protection, I want to see 500 rounds error free and not necessarily all in one session and definitely not in my .300 Win Mag, lol. 50 rounds, tear it down and clean, 100 rounds, same. Now I'll go 500, clean, tear down, inspect.
Washington state here😕
Thanks for this video. I’m out in Massachusetts. It took 8 months just to get a license to carry here.
Love hearing the Air Tractor in the background.
I would LOVE to get one, but I live in Washington state. Sucks to be me. I suspect the first round ftf was just the firing pin gunked up from the factory and following shot cleared it.
Yay! I’m in KILLinois! Weeee! So free! 😭😅
The “muzzle device” or threaded barrel, in combination with being a semi automatic rifle with detachable box mag, makes it illegal in NY. Even without these “dangerous” accessories, you’d still need a “semiautomatic rifle permit”.
Having a traditional rifle stock makes this soooooooo much safer guys!
Que?
I'm a big fan of CMMG. I have run 2,000+ through the Banshee 9mm. It grabs attention from the other shooters. The Endeavor 6.5 Creedmoor is a gorgeous high preforming piece of engineering I am pleased with. May have to add the BR4 to the list. I'd like to see it for $1,400.00 though. Great video Outlaw!
the people want to see the sig comparison lol
Looks almost like an old skool BAR from the side profile. Sweet rifle!
Illinois resident here - please send help before I can move out of here :( o7
definitely want to see the review of this rifle AND would also appreciate the comparison between this one and the Sig
What’s the sig one called ?
unless you live in Massachussets.. they banned ALL Semi auto firearms
WOW,👉🏾…….UNFV€KINGBELIEVABLE!!! 🤬
I'd like the option for the 24" 6.5CM, longer handguard, bipod, and a can.
Annnnd, a 10" in 300blk, handguard over part of the can, red dot or irons for an interesting look.
Maybe CMMG has been working on making more uppers for the lower? Guess I need to check their channel...
✌️😎🇺🇸🍻
What about it makes it illegal in those 3 states?
Magazine acceptance I'm assuming.
Threaded muzzle. I live in NYC.
@@pasqualinoiannelli4275,…..there’s different options to make it legal in your state, except for the 3 ssahole states he mentioned!!! 👍🏾
@@pasqualinoiannelli4275,…..MOVE!!!
🤣😂🤣
Its a gun 🤔
Not just the sig, the fightlite scr, and the foxtrot mike ranch rifle are in this category. I would like to see someone compare all 4. Get Reno May on the show too since he’s the California guntuber.
Mrs.HonestOutlaw called it an AR so now it’s banned everywhere
The Ruger PCC makes a non threaded barrel for people who live in New York.
Ares Defense/ Fight Lite makes a .223 lower that accepts a AR Upper.
Shall not comply everything is legal!
Shall go to prison then. Lol
@@Sig_P229 I don’t doubt it this mentality catches up eventually 😂
Ok big talker lol
You belong in prison
My brain going mad scientist here thinking of a beautiful custom stock attachment. You guys are shooting like Badass’s as usual. Seems obvious the stock is not tall as it should be.
@HonestOutlaw, I noticed your cheek was fairly high on the stock. Would putting a lower mounted optic help out with the feel of the gun? Not talking dookie, just an observation. Love the channel!
Now THAT is a futuristic space cowboy gun if I've ever seen one.
I actually like it. I've always liked the fightlite SCR too
"Monsanto air force" got me good...😂😂😂
The only thing, from what I can tell, that would make this rifle naughty in Illinois, is PICA saying there can't be a shroud that encircles the barrel to prevent the non shooting hand to hold the firearm without getting burned. Everything else on it is fine.
I think that stock is pretty nice, looks like you can get a cheekweld and see through your optic while having your head just about, if not fully, upright
I love this concept, especially living in California.
Like you mentioned at the end of the video, please do a review/ comparison of this and the SIG MCX Regulator!
Would be great to see as both serve as “ranch rifles” and are made for banned states
Its funny. A few years back people saw the Fightlight SCR and were all up in arms about it. Now people are digging this. Its the same thing.
“Monsanto air force” 🤣🤣 LMAO
Funniest comment in a long time.
I have a FightLite SCR that is similar to this rifle and is okay for NYS. No muzzle brake, just a flat rose barrel, or "standard barrel".
Good review . You should review Foxtrot Mike ranch rifle with hyperfire trigger
Moving to CT soon and this might by my go to option. Looking for the full review.
Yes! Pick up the Sig as a comparison! Thx for this review, certainly a nice gun. I hate this, now I have to save up for one of these or the Sig!
Got pretty excited when I got the Outlaw's notification and saw the title and clicked right on it....man, fuck NY.
I would love to see a full review, as I live in California
First, I love CMMG's! They really make some exceptional guns! I would have liked to hear the difference with and without the Suppressor. Is it really loud without the suppressor or is it manageable? Also, it looks like having the AR Mags might be problematic because it sticks out there. Interested in your thoughts. - Thanks!
Hey, man, cool video, have a question: why you haven't review the Benelly MR1 on your channel - same AR legal?
Thanks for the video. I am in California, always good to learn about options.
I like two things on it: Magpul stock and Trijicon MRO optic. I have these two on my Beretta 1301 Mod 2, that BTW costs less than this gun.
As a huge fan for years stuck in Washington we unfortunately can’t buy this. Even if we leave the state to buy it our Washington ID will restrict us
I'd like to see this compared to the Foxtrot Mike ranch rifle. I've felt the baseline FM trigger and I stop just short of calling it gross, but they do have an upgraded trigger available that I haven't tried yet, and I've heard very little negative about their bufferless uppers. They have non-threaded barrels as well for those states that don't allow any muzzle devices.
Quick check of GB and they are about half of what the CMMG costs.
I got really excited because I am looking at getting the CMMG Dissent.. So I thought this would be a different version of that and it's pretty different.. i want a small, backpack gun with no buffer tube, like the Dissent.. but this version still looks sweet.. just not the same as the original dissent
You can put your whole face right behind the sights. Theoretically it would improve accuracy and\or maneuverability in CQC
I don't know about legality in states but the Fightlite SCR is very similar as well.
I like that Charcoal green. I wonder if the 7.62 x 39 CMMG Mutant (AK Magazines) comes in that color too.
Is it a wildcat chamber cut? (Can it do both 5.56 and .223?) Is the gas block adjustable? If so, what kind of adjustment? How many notches of adjustment? Can you adjust without disassembling or removing any component from the factory weapon configuration? Is this combat gassed like a block 2 M16? Important questions that I would have went over in a review.
