top 100 beats ever made coupled with some of the most underrated rhymes on the universe. Bless bless to them...got me through a lot of hard times when I was younger. S/o Da Grassroots, Conception Records, and Toronto
I keep replaying this joint, I’m about to call this the greatest hiphop song ever…the beat is mind blowing & the emcee is smooth as silk spitting complex & intelligent wisdom that most of us can’t comprehend……AMAZING…..I think Rakim said it best “ I’m hard to read like graffiti but steady , science I drop is real heavy “…….. I wish the rapper here would do an interview explaining his deep provoking language…..like “ swallow the tablet trying to kill you of your averageness “. Etc…..🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nothing compares to how this song makes me feel when im riding the train/bus/ferry in nyc and staring off into the distance. Music can really heal you. 🙏
If my fellow Americans ever wanted a reason to bond with our northern Canadian brothers, they should just listen to Da Grassroots...These guys put Kanye to shame.
There is only like 50 rappers and emcess I can name who have better or on par lyrics with early Kanye. He had very captivating music and it was more than just the beats
They say you can't t judge a book by its cover, well, the moment i saw this cover, i knew this album was gonna be good. Purchased it on the spot. One of my all time favourite albums. This track is so smooth, puts me in a state I appreciate.
siento la tristeza en cada nota. Como si alguien se haya ido y se pudiese volver a ver jamás. o también a nostalgia, de que llueve y de que las cosas podrían ser peor.
@Crisis757 It's been like that for a long time now...I used to listen to all the "popular" music, then one day I realized I had to go underground to find the real shit!!
He is a Japanese DJ/producer who makes amazing hip-hop jazz beats. It sounds similar to this, but he truly takes it to another level. Listen to Imaginary Folklore and Luv (sic) Part 3-4
Wasn't there a video for this on Much Music? I have the CD too (where it's called Kenny's Theme cause the song titles aren't in order), but I think I bought the CD because I had heard this song somewhere first...
Just found out theese guys are Canadian maybe this song was better known in Canada at the time because I have a group of friends who all listen and examine different rap albums and none of us had ever heard of them until today. Anyone know?
I was able to get my hands on this album awhile back, but everyone beware. The title list does not match the song order on the disc. This song is actually "Black Dove" (of course.) Still this is one of the few albums you could really play from start to finish, and be satisfied with almost every track.
since you mentioned knowmads, lets include blue scholars and common market on that list! also: crown city rockers, zion i, pete philly, dl incognito, wale, and skyzoo, just to name a few more!
I tell people this is the greatest rap album that they have never heard.
This and Southpaw - Left Hand Rule
@@calebscalzo Their album is incredible. Sad that I hadn't heard of them until now. 😞
