As someone with physical disabilities I love that grater because it can usually take me around an hour just to prepare ingredients when I want to make my own food (due to lack of strength and dexterity among other reasons), so something like that is fast, easy and safer as well (I am always accidentally cutting myself at the kitchen due to slip ups). I love it! Thanks for showing it to me!!!
I think you'd be better off with a food processor. There's a motor and the attachments are little wheels that take up a lot less space. I have ones for grating, slicing, and french fries. And then you can puree stuff as well.

Isn’t really a useful measure. Like all measuring devices, scales are typically given a tolerance in “n% plus m digits”. So if the good scale is reading in whole grams, it can be off by 1 or 2 grams without even having a chance at being out of spec.

The sheer abundance of variations on waffle batters, as well as recipes that are not waffles, but use waffle irons as the intended cooking surface, make such a sublime-looking product the rather obvious target of a massive assortment of potential experiments. My first thought upon seeing them come out is how amazing that product would be at producing my "rice pudding waffles" (which are gluten-free), which would do with deeper pits to accept more of the cinnamon custard sauce I top them with.

What? What kind of waffle iron do you have that's hard to clean? You just wipe them down with a cloth or a sponge dampened with hot water. If it's any harder than that you're doing something wrong.
Most irons comes with waffle, grill and croque-monsieur grills.,. If they don't have an easily removable grill, I mostly don't bother buying them.,. Anyway, the thing I'm bothered with the most is, I don't see them flip the damn thing, most waffle irons I know can be flipped.,.
I think if it did have interchangeable grill I wouldn't bother. I haven't had a waffle in years, even when I lived at my parents they only made waffles maybe 6 times a year... But I did love ours with the flat irons for making grilled cheese or quesadillas.
It is expensive, but it appears to be worth it. It would be great for me - keep a bunch of mix in a jug in the fridge, and make waffles for breakfast before the kids go to school in the morning.
I have one (was a gift) and seriously its my favourite thing in my kitchen. Absolutely amazing waffle maker, no matter what you put in it (if you accidentally screw up the batter) it will still turn out amazing. I use it probably 3 times a month and I’ve had it for 5 years, still works perfectly. Can not recommend this product enough

I love that waffle iron and would love to see how the different styles (Classic, Begium, etc.) differ from each other. Also I would love to see the chefs and the normals cook signature dishes from all around europe. Especially from the countries which are maybe lesser known for their food compared to their neighbor.
Only thing I hate about that is the marketing as a 'smart' waffle iron. It's literally just an integrated hard-coded timer, there's nothing smart about that..
I actually have that grater thing! Mine came with the plunger thing Ben was talking about so I'm not grating my fingers. Also, the switch to lock it to the counter broke pretty quickly, but it still works
I have to say, I have a rotary grater, and absolutely love it. I mainly use it for grating cheeses, and it does it so easily and quickly, and there's so little cleanup, that I love it. It makes very short work of anything I do, and is easier and actually works better than a food processor, and is tons easier to clean up,
You know Barry said "I'm good at these things" when about to put the parts of the grater together based on the fact that he is good at putting his kid's shapes in the holes you together. You just KNOW.
With a family of 6 we use the hand rotary grater all the time. The usefulness comes of the fact that you only have to pop the grater barrel and plastic spout into the dishwasher and stick the other pieces in the cabinet when done. We run the dishwasher every other day, so it's quite convenient, more than the processor.

the waffle iron really intrigued me, as i myself am thinking about buying one. i have also seen various 5-in-one waffle irons where there are switchable elements, so one element is for making waffles, one a gridled pan, one a sandwich maker type thing etc. i'd love for one of those to be tested out!

There are handheld metal ones, I found one on Amazon the best keywords are "moulinex petit ménager" my first result is that little grater made of stainless steel, about 15€ 😁

I just got a rotary grater since I do not have a food processor. I absolutely love it! Mine did come with a plunger so that I'm not putting my fingers down inside it, and all pieces except the base go into the dishwasher. I really love it!
I actually have the hand turn grater. I asked my Mother-in-law for one for Christmas one year. I use it all the time. Its so much easier to pull out than the food processor. I also dont have all the parts for my food processor and cant grate anything with it. I love it! I use it for grating cheeses and carrots, to slicing cucumbers for home made pickles.
You know what would be fun? A collab with James Hoffman! Do an episode about cooking with coffee, bring him in to enjoy and nerd out about the perfect coffees for various uses.
I'd be really surprised if there's anybody out there who actually enjoys egg whites... They have very little flavor and the texture of them when they're hard boiled is dreadful.

I love mine. I also use it to make cornbread waffles. I never used the clamp like that. The clamp is for when you store it upright.

I actually have that grater thing! Mine came with the plunger thing Ben was talking about so I'm not grating my fingers. Also, the switch to lock it to the counter broke pretty quickly, but it still works

Gadget Suggestion: Vitamix blenders, priced sky high, but make a lot of claims that go far beyond what a regular blender can do.
I have to say, I have a rotary grater, and absolutely love it. I mainly use it for grating cheeses, and it does it so easily and quickly, and there's so little cleanup, that I love it.
It makes very short work of anything I do, and is easier and actually works better than a food processor, and is tons easier to clean up,
You know Barry said "I'm good at these things" when about to put the parts of the grater together based on the fact that he is good at putting his kid's shapes in the holes you together. You just KNOW.
With a family of 6 we use the hand rotary grater all the time. The usefulness comes of the fact that you only have to pop the grater barrel and plastic spout into the dishwasher and stick the other pieces in the cabinet when done. We run the dishwasher every other day, so it's quite convenient, more than the processor.

the waffle iron really intrigued me, as i myself am thinking about buying one. i have also seen various 5-in-one waffle irons where there are switchable elements, so one element is for making waffles, one a gridled pan, one a sandwich maker type thing etc. i'd love for one of those to be tested out!

Aidyn H You can get fantastic metal ones. My dad has had one for over 30 years still works grate (pun totally unashamedly intended 😆) although granted not a lot is made to last these days. But best of luck in your purchase
There are handheld metal ones, I found one on Amazon the best keywords are "moulinex petit ménager" my first result is that little grater made of stainless steel, about 15€ 😁

They had something like that a while back. I can't remember what the series is called, but if you look back, you should be able to find it.
The series is called "Made Personal with...". Each lad cooks a dish (or has the chef make a dish) personal to them, explains why/what memories they have attached to it and then answers some comments.

I actually have the hand turn grater. I asked my Mother-in-law for one for Christmas one year. I use it all the time. Its so much easier to pull out than the food processor. I also dont have all the parts for my food processor and cant grate anything with it. I love it! I use it for grating cheeses and carrots, to slicing cucumbers for home made pickles.
You know what would be fun? A collab with James Hoffman! Do an episode about cooking with coffee, bring him in to enjoy and nerd out about the perfect coffees for various uses.

I’m with Barry - I love the yolk, the whites of most eggs are just meh.
I'd be really surprised if there's anybody out there who actually enjoys egg whites... They have very little flavor and the texture of them when they're hard boiled is dreadful.
