I went to see InMe recently for their Overgrown Eden 20 Year Anniversary mini tour. I saw them at the Islington Assembly Hall. It was amazing. I have followed InMe and been a fan of theirs since I saw them at the London Astoria when they filmed their live DVD for the White Butterfly tour. I have been to see Dave a few times as well, including notably him playing at my brother's wedding reception. Also Dave playing online through Facebook during the pandemic helped me to survive the mental health issues that were exacerbated by the everything. He worked in a hospital all the way through too, I think he still does now. He has suffered with mental health issues too and his openness and compassion have helped so many people. Their music has saved lives for sure. They never did get the exposure they deserve.
@@anassjihad3456 They're still going, in between day jobs. The music industry pretty much spat them out after White Butterfly. The record label money stopped, Joe left to go to university. They dropped the cute boyband image. Dave kept devloping as a writer and the sound moved away from the simpler, grungier stuff, which caused some fans to drop them. The music industry kept changing and people stopped paying for music in general. Even really big artists don't make much money from record sales these days, let alone smaller bands like InMe. They've become more self-financed and started needing normal jobs alongside the band. Dave has battled mental health and addiction issues. The band lineup has changed around Dave a few times. Gaps between tours and albums have become a bit longer, which makes it harder to kept momentum going for the band. Media attention has dried up (a lot of people don't even realise they're still going). A lot of people are hung up on the nostalgia of Overgrown Eden and all the teenage memories it brings back, and not willing to give the newer material a chance (although the band still play loads of the older songs live). Also everyone's getting older. Dave is in his 40s and probably has life priorities aside from the band, the fans are all older too and not neccessarily out moshing every night anymore, what with kids and careers and so on
Yo I was there too when they played at Islington Assembly Hall back in September! First time seeing them as a 5 piece, felt surreal seeing Dave without a guitar in hand haha. Right with you with seeing them at Astoria way back when…honestly InMe are the only band I’ve seen more than any other. Saw them play Mean Fiddler, Virgin Megastore for Kerrang Day of Rock, The Garage, pretty much all the venues in London. Still listen to Overgrown Eden now and again and it still hits. Man I’ve loved this band for so long.
When i hear this songs I remember just staring at Dave in a trance when I saw them live. Its my fave song and it just a magic moment. The memory lives rent free in my head.
I remember when I first "discovered" them...I start to talk with friends about them and no one had known them...no one. This song is the one that stayed with me til today...15 years later. It is an amazing band, with an outstanding concept of Music. This is really the most beautiful part of Music, if u like something it will stick with u forever.
This is one of, if not my all time favourite songs and has been since the day I first heard InMe a good few years ago. To see them finish live with it in Manchester 22/9 was fuckin amazing, best gig I've been to!!
I've met Dave a couple of times when he's done acoustic sets on his own & he's so unassuming it's ridiculous........this song + numerous other's he's written are just fantastic pieces of music..absolute pleasure to listen to.....
Me and my friends were really into these guys in high school when this album came out. We used to watch this video all the time crushing hard on Dave. Such a handsome guy
Wow... Brings me right back to high school, maybe because I'm more into metalcore now but this is sooo different then what I remember. Maybe because it was the hardest rock that was available at the time. Then I quickly got into Slipknot and SOAD. Good song though. Can't believe I found these guys again!
I'm a new fan of InMe, starting from when I heard Single of the Weak last year. I now have all the albums, even "the best of" and I've got to say that these guys are seriously, seriously talented! I love single of the weak, (Herald Moth in general really!) but I do have to admit, that I think the earlier stuff is incredible, and this particular song is constantly on repeat in my car. I think I'll go as far as to say, that this is probably my favourite song, possible ever!! What a TUNE!!!
This brought a tear to my eye in 2004 and still is my favourite song now. I love covering this with my band, Dave has one of the best voices, very versatile and so powerful, he means every word he sings... /fanboying
Fanboy away! Im right there with you dude :D Ive had the pleasure of seeing InMe and Dave perform so many times. Their musical and vocal talent is just incredible
This song will always remind me of spinning with my friends on the school field. For a song with such meaningful and deep lyrics, it sure got me and my friends upbeat.
remember watching these live in Nottingham Rescue Rooms with some girl i met from lutterworth called Helen from what i remember... around 2003? was a good night :D
I remember seeing Inme at the Manchester road house just before overgrown Eden came out. The place was packed and when someone tried to crowd surf a big section of the foam tiled ceiling caved in. The band handed beers out to fans outside for helping them load their van up. Good times.
Still my favourite song in the world today in late 2012! Even got my photo in their Pride album. One of the most under rated, hard working bands out there!
Could you recomend a few decent songs to me? I've never heard of them but they've replaced the band i was looking forward to seeing and im just not vibing with the music I'm finding myself lol
I remember back before I even had a PC in my house, (i think i was 15) i used to watch Kerrang daily praying for InMe to come on, I never wanted the 3 minutes 47 seconds to end. =P
@NamesNorris I know, how did we survive before the internet? Rare music was more precious than gold. If you wanted to listen to an old favourite, you'd have to scour shops across the land, or wait by the radio or tv for hours on end. Such innocent times.
Hes called Dave. I dont know why more people cant see the pure talent these guys have, and Si,he is what inspired me to play drums. This is without question one of my fave songs of all time. They are so amazing live too and Greg is a beast =D,shame Joe left though
They came to wolverhampton a few years back, costing just £9 and i didn't go. IM FECKIN GUTTED about that. I had heard only a few songs at the time.. and i just didn't go. But they will tour again im sure, this time im going, i need to see these guys live.
I really wish they were bigger. But, that means that I can go see them at small local venues! What an amazing atmosphere! Also, if youve seen them live then you know that the crowd split then crash is amazing. ;D
Hate when people say coz a song is heavy like this that it can't be emotional, and yeah this song should be played cranked up and it kicks ass, but the vocals, lyrics, chords, everything is full of pure emotion, especially his screams, sends a shiver down my spine, tuuuuune!!!
InMe were the first band i ever saw live, when i was 13 and overgrown eden had just come out. They almost hit the big time with White Butterfly, even had the dvd out n stuff, then all the so called fans didnt really wona know any more, WTF!!! stopped going to shows and the last 2 albums did not do as well as they fukin should, lets get them the support they deserve and go out and buy the newest album Herald Moth, get them back on the festival circuit and show some real support! a true InMe fan x
I just realized that; I wish they and some other bands from the UK were bigger here in the US. InMe, Muse, Lostprophets, so many good choices, but damn if I ever see them live. Not only musical talent, but alot of great looking guys with that sexy accent...sigh.
i must agree with inmepete, the studio songs are undoughtably amazing but the energy and live sound is just something else, i seriously advise anybody who likes their stuff to go see them live
I miss the old inme with all orignal members i think White Butterfly was them at ther finest ther still great just not the same, wen a 1st heard this song thou was like wow! didnt expect that same with the whole wb album :D
Dude people get recognition for a reason, they have a big fan base. If a good band stays 'underground' theres nothing wrong with it, it just doesn't match the majority populations tastes in music. PS
ye zico chain rocked! chuckin the broken mike stand was funny. i was gettin pushed around by ppl twice my size! i thought it was kl the way all the bands were hangin around the bar. i met dave n greg from inme :)
Still listening in 2024 … anyone around from the old InMe forum/message board days? ☺️
God bless you! And happy b'day me :D
Such an underrated band that totally missed the spotlight that they truly deserved 😢.... Dave's voice I just epic...
Since their bassist dropped off they just couldn't find their sound
Because stars are chosen, not born. The ol peekaboo club right.

What happened to this band ? where did all their fans go ?
They used to fill 2000 seat venues, now i heard Dave works in the NHS... what happened ?

InMe... probably one of the best artists in the world not to be rated as much as they should.
That's the longest way to say "underrated" I ever heard!😂 Still, you're not wrong.
Me and my friends were really into these guys in high school when this album came out. We used to watch this video all the time crushing hard on Dave. Such a handsome guy

Love this band, it's sad to see Joe leave the band, but it's cool to see Dave's brother come in, saw these guys in Sheffield, great gig.
This band is a different world
I hugged Dave Macpheerson once, true story.
He had hair once too. True story.
So lucky :'(
Tell me more
I stood next to him at the bar pre gig and was too much of a pussy to say hi lol.
Same mate, met them on the white butterfly tour
Sometimes the UA-cam algorithms take you exactly where you need to be at exactly the right time. That's pretty awesome.
+Johny “Buzzkill” Kidd Holy fuck.
The algorithms do still suck balls, i guess sometimes they just get it right by accident
Dave is such a top man and great musician, love this band
I had the honor to play with the lead singer in a acoustic show in Southampton he is truly and amazing singer!!
Seen these live in Manchester, they where incredible.

This voice I'll recognize among a thousand others... Love it!
