Coke was the one I knew although I've heard soda, but I had never heard pop.Anyway, it would be wonderful to have the chance to live for some time in the USA to learn about all this you're teaching 'cause immersion is the best way to master the language.I was taught American English, but there are lots of things I don't know yet.We learn something new everyday.Thanks,teacher.

So interesting! I am from the UK southern England actually, and if you offered somebody in the UK a glass of soda, they would really give you a peculiar look! Here in the UK, we use 'soda' for laundry purposes, i.e. softening agent and also for unblocking sinks!! We do have bottled soda, which is used as a 'mixer' for spirits.
As a child, the word 'pop' was used to describe lemonade, orangeade, etc, but it seems to have lost its popularity.
I have a dear friend in Tn and I love her drawl, but saying that, she loves my standard Southeast England accent as well!
As we say here in SE England, 'catch you later!'

    BOSS BABY 2 SPOILER ALERT
I'm a non-English native speaker, in the Boss Baby 2 movie there's a soda with a subtitle „Pop!" I thought „Pop" is meant to be a company, of course it's just an animated movie. But since the story takes place in Chicago and in this region coke=pop I know that there was written just „coke!" and I'm so hyped about that now, has anybody thought at that moment about Boss Baby as well since the pop plays an inportant role? xD
