While Iowa is more psychotic, I find this one more bone chilling. It's so black it touches the heart
Islam Benfifi couldn't agree more
Lyrics in IOWA though...
same
The 3rd is the darkest Album for me cause they been really going through Shit more than ever but i like the first Album in 99 the Most! Alone the intro.. the whole thing i think it’s sic!
Me to this version is absolutely amazing
Killers Are Quiet: *Just the band jammin out*
Iowa: *Corey cutting himself, throwing up & screaming*
I feel stupid for not realizing Iowa was based off of this. :/
Apollo345 Minecraft you're not alone
Jason Ramirez nice Mudvayne pfp
They re did a lot of songs off this album. Gently, tattered and torn. I would LOVE if Corey could actually sing this one on an album
*same meme here*
@Eternal kek
so craig is a killer...
knucklehead Essentially yes.
knucklehead someone told me at a festival that years back, they asked Craig 133 if he wasn't In slipknot what would be? and he replied be a serial killer. so Corey Taylor told him he wasn't allowed to ever speak during interviews ever again. I don't know where the guy heard it, if it's true, but with the knot anything is possible. lol. Craig is a mystery. never speaks. never shows face. he's the silent one.
Sam Mitchell That was all a hoax, Craig said he would probably be working recycling trash or working in a boring supermarket
Hoax or not, that shit's funnier than fuck.
Provoked Animosity fuck is pretty funny, I gotta admit
Slipknot doing doom metal is amazing.
A Liars Funeral tho
@@Skramzee but it kicks ass
You know anders is actually a huge fan of Acid Bath/Dax Riggs
@@ESmaniak Well I did make this comment long before A Liar's Funeral became a thing.
@GG like slipknot was metal anyway
I love how the vocalist's voice at 6:17 is breaking so much like he is going through some real shit. It adds to the atmosphere.
...NOW!
Colsefni is one of the best metal vocalists out there imo tbh
Pretty sure it’s because they play werewolf the apocalypse as shadow lords

“Killers are quiet when they come from my head!”
Ngl I love that line.
I always thought it was killers are quit when they come behind.
Craig's theme song if he was a wrestler lol
xWagnerPlaguesx his special move would be the pornobomb
Nah It would be Iowa it sounds better
WWE
and whole song of mfkr stand for every slipknot member like tattered and torn for clown
WWC: Walk With Craig
The drums are trying to calm the storm of vocals.
And bassline.
For those wondering, this song pretty much acts as a demo for Iowa, as that song and Killers are Quiet are very similar in structure.
Not really, this came before Corey Taylor was lead vocalis for Slipknot, he just based the song Iowa as this, this didn't purposely serve as a demo but I guess you are right if this is what you meant by demo.
Cameron Lorenz OH NO NOT THE DUOLINGO OWL
Bing Boy oh shit
Duh, anymore brain busters?
@Nikki babudada Even though the band's former lead vocalist Anders himself has said that MFKR is a full length album not a demo. He said it in a Q&A video on his channel.
Someone needs to remix this with Iowa Just to see how it would sound with Anders and Corey.
It´s quite interesting to hear both at the same time
Great idea
Corey and Anders screaming about different things at the same time would sound bad ass
Cycle of life and death supposedly
goes 'round and 'round yet it stops with me
Glorious hunter of my faith I have sinned
Killers are quiet like the the breath of the wind
Filling the shadows with forms of my own
Raised by kindred of Get I was born
Abomination world in disarray
Killers are quiet when they seek the vitae
Reflection beckons a portal shard
Spiritual quest I must stay in guard
Stepping sideways betweens worlds I shift
Killers are quiet when they are born with the gift
Beautiful Anguish cast out by my race
Now one that's Ageless I save my own face
I write my own laws with Death I break bread
Killers are quiet when they come from my head
dem abominations / black spiral dancers
Great 👍❤
Just realized this song...is based on World of Darkness.
Corey was originally only meant to be a backing vocalist but the other band members choose Corey to be lead Vocalist after this demo and Anders wasnt very pleased with there decision so Anders left the band and now we have Slipknot the way it is today
MetallicNate actually Corey was gonna always be lead. He Anders was gonna do the more heavy parts
Anders is placed for Chris part as percusionist and backing vocal
They replaced anders because they wanted a radio friendly voice get your facts right and Corey wasn't apart of the band or associated until 1999
@@Firefly712 *97
Regardless of the reason if it wasn’t for Corey the band would have done shows for a max of 40 people at the height of their career haha
6:17
Sorry grandmother didn't mean to give you a heart attack.
Craig was a inspiration for this song.
Д
🤣🤣
@@biggerdilly Anders legitimately said that
Mhm the shape man
@@biggerdilly Anders seriously said that on his youtube channel
"Cycles of life and death supposedly
Goes round and round yet it stops with me
Glorious hunters of my faith I have sinned
Killers are quiet like the breath of the wind....." bone chilling lyrics
this is the REAL slipknot
he said "if i wasnt in this band i'd be a serial killer."
Actually they are both good in their own right. This song is amazing and sludgy, and is just a great metal song. Iowa to me feels like an update to the song, it has a lot more audio texture, and is more atmospheric. Although one can never be better than the original, I tend to like Iowa a bit more, because you can hear and feel the attention to detail that was taken to transcend an already awesome song. A lot of people bring up the point that one singer sounds better than the other, and while I am not a big fan of Anders' voice and tend to favor Cory's, I feel that they both fit their respected songs. This is a very subdued yet chaotic balled of obscurity, and I feel that they both pull it off in their own accord. I don't think either of songs is better than the other. They are both great songs.
good point
andrew gonzales well said
Can we also add that Corey stood naked, and cut himself with shards of glass for every scream while recording that song.
I'm two years late, but a good effort post nonetheless.
k
Killers are quiet like the breath of the wind
Line up: Anders, Josh, Paul, Donnie, Joey, and Shawn.
Credited: Anders, Josh, Mick, Joey, Craig, Shawn
Paul wasn't credited?
Sad that Shawn is the only original left, Corey shouldn't of kicked Joey
What about craig? there's alot of samples in the song
Al Kaholic they did all the samples without craig. Craig joined as the guitarist afer donnie left then went on to samples
RIP Paul and Donnie
I see a lot of people in the comments trying to compare this to IOWA. Me personally, I don't consider one to be superior to the other, as I believe they both represent different things.
For me, this song(and most of Mate, Feed, Kill, Repeat) seems like a portrait of insanity, where the person depicted slowly retreats inwards into a deeper pit of anguish.
IOWA seems more like where the insanity is projected outwards onto the world, a depiction of rage and a person's hatred of everyone else.
Kinda necro, but MFKR is world of darkness by white wolf. This one is V:tM. Confessions is literally about werewolf: the apocalypse.
lmao yeah
this comment was made before i really knew anything about mfkr and was assuming slipknot back then were as ultra serious as they are now
werewolf the apocalypse is a pretty good game to base a song around tho
Something about this song is so hypnotic..the song Iowa is great an all but something about this version is so pure...its like they really found their sound with this song.
I know. This is better to me than iowa
R.I.P joey jordison
The greatest slipknot album of all time, imo
no, please no.
@@deadroses19 You're the reason why no one takes Slipknot fans seriously
@@deadroses19yes please yes.
MFKR is the best thing Slipknot did hands down.
@@HypostaticFridgecorey single handedly destroyed slipknot like the first 4 albums were great but after pauls death they became shady business and pulled grimy ass shit and now they are what they are now
Nah, self titled is the best
the old days
I wouldn’t mind, in an alternate reality, where Slipknot was a sludgy metal band with huge industrial influences, like from Throbbing Gristles.
Killers have been real quiet since this dropped.
I love this song. Its very...poetic.
this song sounds so dark I love it
this song and iowa are like vermilion part 1 and vermilion part 2
More like vermilion pt 2 and vermilion pt 3 from AHIG
Heh.. Not at all.

This song kicks ass... no wonder Slipknot decided to re-use it on Iowa with Corey.
Iowa was inspired from this.
No shit
+WornMetalHead This is getting ridiculous
It’s literally the same song lmao
Bro u have to be kidding really?
This is good too, but I think I still like Iowa better.
same
not as dark but sill
I actually prefer this version tbh haha but both are great.
same IDVaultOfficail
It's nice that we can all agree on both songs being great!
This song was inspired from Craig, also knows as the Silent one.his influence on naming this song was made when he stated "If I wasn't in this band, I'd probably be out killing people!".
This song calms me down when I'm angry :D
and the lyrics I can strangely relate to....
"Cycle of life and death supposedly

Jose Larios you're illiterate
mixz Savage.
michaela damn, thank u so much
I mean that’s cool but the if the song has the same meaning as Iowa, since this is basically a super early version of that song, it’s about playing with dead bodies.
This song reminds me of Craig
I think it is about craig
Not so much about him, but it's inspired by him.
Dr. Memes Who's Craig? I know you sent this a week ago, but I'd appreciate some elaboration :)
***** Craig Jones, the band's sampler
now this is the poetry i wanna be learnin in school.
I love this song... it's for me one of the best songs done by slipknot ^^
I'm really shocked that they didn't keep this album. As much as I like Iowa, this is where the heart of Slipknot is, in my opinion.
Stella Blue this is a demo
Stella Cashman this isn’t officialy an album or a demo album it’s just purely unofficial and it’s anders not Corey Corey wouldn’t want this as a Slipknot album now
Eye ball Gamer actually, if they didn’t get signed in 97 they would release a album that’s a remake of mfkr. Hell they played anders songs all the way til 98.
Stella Cashman fun fact, none of the new and original members of slipknot own a copy of mfkr
@@HJYTAPOUT it was reconned as a demo, it was recorded and released to be their debut album.
slipknot 1996 awesome
This is like if a bad trip wrote a song
This is my Alarm
Every morning this masterpiece! MWUAH I LOVE IT
love this song so much
Probably the best song sung by Anders. Along with Carve. He's pretty good in my opinion, but Corey is just naturally gifted.
What a masterpiece written by Craig.
Craig wasn't even in the band, when this was written
@@tatteredandtorn this song was inspired by werewolf
Anders is still good friends with most of the band members, even though he left because he didn't want to be Slipknots ''back-up'' vocalist. I'm sure that he would be fine with whatever song they release that was originally from the original Slipknot.
man what i've always loved about this song, it always has such an eerie vibe to it that makes it fricken killer (no pun intended)
FUCK CHRIST TY! IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS ALBUM FOR A VERY LONG GOD DAMN TIME! never thought ide hear it again
I would love an actual copy of this!

A masterpiece
YOu´re so damn right. I loved Coreys voice on Iowa.
Nice and chilled just before i go to sleep thanks to you SlipKnot =)
wow, i love this song
man you can just tell this is a 2007 comment, even without the time stamp lmao
With headphones on full that guitar sting that leads into the first verse freaked me the flip out
this isn't an IOWA INFLUENCE. Iowa took the music from this track, and the lyrics behind and alternative standpoint, hence named Iowa. as they are from des moines, Iowa. so clearly, not an influence, a track cover/reproduction.
i cant believe there are some people taht dont know this is the original album
Malin Grant yah man i hear u its like the new generation of fans started at iowa and forgot to look back
agreed
Malin Grant slipknot says this isn't an album but a demo.
I started at All Hope Is Gone then to Vol. 3 then Slipknot, then Iowa, then .5 and now at to where it all started.
God I love MFKR. All of the demos of really good songs. Like killers are quiet: lowa. Slipknot: (Sic) [fun fact sic stands for said in context]. And other great and amazing songs
This is actually the original version of Iowa
Never EVER fall asleep listening to this. 0.0
This song has a pretty eerie sound to it. I think that's pretty cool. And a lot of people think this song is about Craig or whatever, but I honestly think that this song could be about Michael Myers, think about it
Will York Music not at all. This song as well as basically every mfkr track are about Anders' werewolf character from some fantasy card game they were all into at the time. He has a youtube channel where he explains the shit better.
@slipknot00010
He didn't leave, he was replace by Corey and placed as backup vocals. He didn't like it, though, and left.
one of my fav songs
This is one of Ander's favorite songs and his favorite from MFKR!
A Masterpiece
Damn that's so old
This song is fucking menacing. I'd use it in a movie when my character (some kind of agent) spirals into insanity in the middle of investigating a case of a killer who carves the title of this song into his victims and then proceeds to kill himself. Yeah I know it's dark but I wanna write some kind of horror flick
Sounds like it would work well
ayyyy I'd watch that movie! this song would go incredible in a dark moment like that!
Have it take place in Iowa :)
Noah Bailey Of course!
Just sat in my kitchen in complete darkness blasting this in the speaker.
You absolute psychopath
Glad to see I’m not the only one
omg i wish i had MFKR!

This record and prosthetics are my favorite knots
Damn that shit gave me goosebumps never heard anything that heavy :O
One of the first times I got high I listened to this song and I swear there are lions or something roaring in the beginning
That is anders rolling a glass bottle on a desk.
I always thought it was Clown welding. he did at Slipknot shows around the time this came out
yeah craig has always been the quiet one,
Anders once said that craig was so quiet it scared him. Craig is the darkest member of the band. When he wanted to do samples, the whole band didnt say no because they were scared of him
I played in Slender and I was listening this song. At 6:15 in song, he caught me in the building. I was close to scream. :-/

Here you meet the real Maggots.
I met this man and he turned into my best friend - The Arch Angel Revelation
Castle brought me back here, RIP Joey.

....like the breath of the wind...
the song was based off craig jones, #5, sampling
What do you mean? He was in the band when this song was made.
Hpr5200 Pie no no, He was in the band as a sampler, he was even credited on the back on the album
Pedro Vallejo look up your info more, this album was already recorded for awhile after he joined. Their first demo tape from 95 were even just rough mixes and outtakes from this album. Craig joined as a a replacement to Donnie for one show (wore pantyhose on his head) then moved to sampling. Then mick joined.
No it was not lmfao get your shit right
Both this And its finished counterpart (Iowa) Combined together would make a fascinating story
This album simply kicks ass
