I have ZERO problems with Davis doing what he did. Someone needs to say it so I will. The guy was being honest with himself and I thought that's what we wanted, is it not? Plus, who the hell would want to play in Buffalo at this point? Yes, he probably should have stayed until after the game to let his teammates know, but even still...would you want to announce that life-changing moment in that locker room environment right now? I wouldn't.

Did they run out of players to put on the field? Did it cost them the game? In the end it was a business decision. Its so ironic how team preach brotherhood among players, but the minute they don't want to pay for a player services they claim business is business. And because of that I have 0 problem with him walking off the field and retiring. If he thought for a moment, damn I dont want to do this. I rather retired right this second then hurt myself. then so be it. Not at all? But he felt disrespected by a league that doesn’t treat 99% of their players as people, but as pawns for a big money plot and coaches use you to boost their ego, you get sick of it and he came to a boiling point. I wouldn’t have done it at halftime, but I’m tired of people acting like coaches and owners don’t disrespect players naturally due to the nature of the game and the business. Half of these motherfuckers have the bodies of debilitated 60 to 70 year olds by the time they're 35 to 40. They have to endure multiple surgeries each off season to fix the damage they'd done to themselves (and were playing with) from the previous season. Their life expectancy drops, and from autopsies of the last 111 former NFL players who died, 99% of them had fucking brain damage. They are in a league where the average player who can even make an NFL roster only lasts a couple of years before a younger, healthier person takes his job. You go on telling me how it's just a game and how they aren't putting themselves at risk though, it's good for a laugh.

NFL football is actually pretty close to Military men. They get drilled relentlessly all year around. You're entire life can literally change on any given play. You can literally die on a football field. And not even always due to contact. Heat strokes, cardiac arrest so on and so forth. Same goes for soldiers at war. At any moment they can be killed, or be hit by friendly fire. The game also leaves a lasting affect on the brain (CTE) which often times can change personalities of a player (See high number of NFL suicides) as does war with soldiers. Not to mention, the terms used in football synchronize with those used in war (shotgun, formations, trenches, blitz, bombs, bullets, packages, etc) Its actually the closest thing to WAR/Military in sports

22steve5150 ok nobody told them to put they life on the line. Dummy they know they get paid millions to play.. the consequences are you might die young and have brain damage. Fair trade I guess. If they don’t want that then they leave like vontae Davis did.
