Neither did I Wth
Same
Me either
Rest in peace Vontae, amazing player to watch, thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
🙏🏾
For some reason I never put together that Vernon and Vontae were brothers xD.
Me either
Same. I knew they were from the same area and went to the same high school but it never registered that they were brothers
I literally said the same thing when I clicked on the video
Lmao I said da same exact thang
I just found out now lol
Vonte Davis: I'm retiring at halftime top that!
AB: Hold my spike's!
Lmao 🤣
😂😂
Hold my pads
Nope AB didnt retire. He left the game after a disagreement with coach. He never retired. He will be playing next yr
@@awkwardoccurrencelatenight2151 You seriously believe that a team is going to take a chance on him? AB ruined his entire career.
RIP Vontae!
Prayers to the family! 🙏
I feel bad for Vontae. Was hell of a corner for a bunch of years but will forever be remembered for retiring at halftime
yeah he was really good.
And wanting to call his grandma on hard knocks
He was the best CB in madden for like 5 years
And wanting to call grandma.
He made that choice
He was Done! It doesn’t matter if anyone else understands. When you done, you done. That’s for anything in life. Once you mentally checked out, you can get yourself in a tough situation if you don’t listen.

Straight facts man just ppl so hard headed nowadays they don’t understand
Absolutely and well said!
Alabaster folk don't understand that...
I was today years old when I found out Vernon & Vontae were brothers.
Dawg me too 😂
@Frank P don't know what u referring to but only change was Vontae from (Vintage) from autocorrect. U the only weirdo confused here trolling
Me too bro - never connected them
No cap 😂
I guess you guys never watched the draft the year Vontae came out. They said they were brothers so many times during that draft process.
Vernon Davis was so cold! Probably the most underrated tightend in league history.
Underrated? Are you serious?
@@MrSPIDEY21 if I wrote it, I meant it. When does Vernon Davis ever get his due respect ? He is rarely ever mentioned. It’s usually Gronk, Gates, Sharpe, Gonzalez, Witten, Clark, and Kelce that get props. Vernon Davis would give all these other great players a run for their money.
@@barringtonmorris90 Gronk and Sharpe (Clark if Peyton was feeding him hard) are the ONLY ones on that list to do great things in the playoffs. And they did it CONSISTENTLY.
No one else did SHIT when it mattered. Hell, some guys couldn't even get there.
People always so quick to call somebody underrated
@@Bro_DT so when do you ever hear of Vernon Davis?
Vontae pioneered the "i dont wanna be here anymore" in the nfl 🐐
Loved Vontae when he played for my Colts. Both his Pro Bowl seasons were with us.

Ok, congrats on that, I guess.
He was my favorite player on the roster and I don’t even know why😂😂

R.i.p vontae this is crazy 🙏🏾🙏🏾prayers to Vernon
The way T.O says “football” always made me laugh 😂
I totally respect the way that Vontae called it quits.
Basically when you’ve had enough you’ve had enough. It’s not that complicated.

But cant wait??😂
@@celinedelgado243 my dad was a mailman. He retired mid route one day lol. Sometimes it's just over 🤣

S/O to the Davis Bros for making it out our city & giving inspiration 💯
Even tho he is a cowboys fan, he is referring to DC
RIP. ❤
“Its a young man’s game” -Vontae Davis
He played defense in the nfl for 10yrs. That’s a tough life. These guys played wr/te the mindset it different abd even in this it shows. If you don’t wanna play defense anymore and go out there and play two things: you’re getting exposed or hurt. We’ve seen it time after time .
Not only is that tough he had some seasons of elite corner play on the colts and bills great player
well said
So he wasn’t mentally tough enough to last past 10 years is basically what ur saying
@@YoogiNation U can be mentally strong but your body can also fail u so he retired him self
@@YoogiNation he’s still mentally and physically tougher than 99% of the population will ever be.
In a strange way I actually really respect Vontae. When its over its over and you know it. He didn't pretend to get hurt or milk it for game checks, etc. He said it's over for me I am done!!!
Sheds more light on the whole situation with his brother. RIP Vontae.
Vontae 2 time pro bowl - he'll be alright
This didn’t age too well 😢🕯️🙏🤍🪽🪽🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️
Rip Vontae😔
RIP
As a older brother I would feel like that too 😕
Vontae Davis retiring at halftime is still the funniest shit I've ever lived through.
Vontae was playing for the Bills in 2018, they were bad that season. That's likely the main reason for his halftime retirement.
Him and AB might be brothers
@@milosmitic2071 lol hush 🤣🤣
@@lawrenceandrews4367 lol ..just saying
@@milosmitic2071 nah AB losing it. Bucs can still win the Super Bowl. 2018 bills hell nah lol
Nah I remember him saying he couldn’t keep up anymore. And as a corner when that happens it’s time to go or you’ll end up just getting toast like Richard Sherman or josh Norman who don’t know when to quit.
His brother had different plans maybe he didn’t want to be a football player but he wanted to make his brother proud
Played against these dudes in Washington, D.C. them boys were MONSTERS in football
I love how they left it alone they solid for that 💯
I like that he’s admitting CTE is real
As a Bills fans I recall Vontae saying that he felt at that moment that he couldn't perform to his standard and the Bills were getting there ass handed to them vs the Chargers 28-6 at the half and the game before though he was inactive we lost 47-3 vs the Ravens so at that point at halftime he probably felt it wasnt worth putting himself out there especially on a team that looked like it wasnt going to win a game for the season.
The ironic thing about it was from the time Vontoe retired at halftime the BILLS defense started playing lights out and finished #1 against the pass for that 2018 season. CRAZY
This is so sick!!!
Don’t care. When you get paid millions of dollars to play a fucking game. You don’t do stupid shit like that and embarrass the team. Thank God Antonio Brown did what he did..
@@chrisdelagarza8048 Bro. I NEVER said he was right. I'm just telling you his perspective of why he did what he did.
I personally think it was a sucka move and he embarrassed my team in the process. I don't care if you are a multimillionaire or not you just don't quit on people who are depending on you.
@@chrisdelagarza8048 what you gonna do about it lmao
@@Red-zc2zy not a damn thing.

@@TommieGun71 I just remembered I actually went to school with this cat "Miami norland sr.high" lol class of 07 I think he's was 06 or 05 and Xavier Rhodes was 08 , lol I should of played football
At least he kept it real. He didn’t just go through the motions and collect a check for a few more games or a few years. He just realized man my mind ain’t in it and I’m done.
I just seen you get a fumble recovery now you driving home🤣🤣
Cant knock Vontae at all. Football isnt a game you should be half heartedly in and he was a great player just like Vernon. As a fan of football, I appreciate all these dudes, and cant knock anyone for THEIR choice. Beautifully done, and exactly what he wanted. I cant knock it.
Yeah idk how you could knock anybody for quitting a job regardless of the position… plus he did it for 10 years already… he didn’t drag up after 2 weeks
True
I always respected Vontae for being real with himself, that's not an easy decision to just quit like that. When I played in college, coach would say things before the game like "if any of you have any hesitations about going out onto that field, let me know right now and we'll find somebody else who wants to play". A lot of guys out there just to say they're on the team or to collect a check
His teammates and the good people in his life don't respect the decision he made to abandon his team at half. Morons like you think it's cool to quit on your teammates mid-game. Adults like Vernon know that's an incredibly selfish decision
@@maxazzopardi7446 lol you don't know anything about the people in his life and you damn sure don't know anything about me. A person can take the field and still let teammates down, it happens frequently. You can also offer opinions online without insults and negativity that I'm sure you wouldn't spew if we were face to face...it's actually very grown up to do

Vontae Davis was one of my favorite Madden DBs in MUT when he was in his prime. That virtual version made PLAYS.
😂
VIRTUAL VERSION I’m dead 😵 😂
He was a beast in real life too in his prime. A pro bowler. Too bad injuries get the best of them.
Vernon was a beast. He ran faster than some wide outs and a beast blocker. Vernon was a stud with jump ball too...too bad Niners were dysfunctional for many years with a new QC every year and new QB.
His brother Vonte was a beast also in his prime. Too bad injuries derailed his career. I secretly wanted the Niners to draft Vonte instead of Michael Crabtree.
Nah, Vernon never lived up to his measureables.
We actually had fairly consistent QB play (by consistent I mean it wasn't a rotating door, Alex Smith wasn't very good pre Harbaugh in SF) in Vernon's time on the niners. It was Alex Smith then it was Kaepernick.
Vernon was part of that dysfunction
Vernon and frank did amazing considering. OG nines for life. He didn't let us down, he led the way for the 9ers to start winning. The man was a fast af WR in a TE position. Absolute cheat code in madden too! 😅
@@Bruss81311th all time in receiving yards for a TE
I don’t know why people are surprised by this. Every football player has that moment where they know their done. Mine happened at practice. 15+ years of football and then during practice just decided I’m done can’t do it anymore. Never went back and never regretted it.
RIP Vontae 🙏
AB saw that and was like Hold my beer lmao 😂
Nobody could stretch the field like Vernon.. miss that dood!
Surprised Vernon made it thru this video without crying. Never seen a nfl player cry that damn much
😂
He could’ve just be emotional immature at the time. A lot of athletes sole focus is their sport so they don’t focus on the other aspects of themselves. Plus defense mechanisms that the body does to suppress certain things is insane.
He’s definitely matured since out of the league though. Both brothers
is it okay for Vernon to cry now?
@@w00deey12 what a wired ass comment from you.
Anyone else didnt know Vernon had a brother
Vontae was in the league for a decade. Which is an accomplishment within itself. He knew it was his time
Vernon knows exactly why his brother quit at half time. He just dont wanna share his brother's business
Both were very respectable players solid players
Maaaaan, when you're done, and you know you're done with something...the real ones dont want to keep going thru the motions.
Never knew they were brothers
Yep, and he played 10 years and made two pro bowls and was a team captain for years…got a real nice big money contract from Indy as well where he made two pro bowls. He was just as talented as Vernon just at a position where you don’t hear about him as much, plus he liked to stay out of the public eye unlike Vernon
As far as I'm concerned Vontae is a man that makes his mind up no matter the gravity of the situation.
damn this deep

I love Vernon Davis he was my favorite player growing up bang bang niner gang
Ironic that Vernon's former head coach famously said that he'd rather take the field with 10 guys, rather than have 11 but knowing that one of them wasn't all in...
Hahaha Vontae made it happen... CAN'T DO IT!
@@17thNO i want winners

If I remember correctly he had some injuries he was coming back from.

That’s why he was a great receiver , look at randy moss hands or even Calvin Johnson , huge hands long fingers blessed by god to catch the pigskin

I’m a Niner fan and that play was a clean hit!
@@Thesavage925 It was clean, I was at the game. I’m a niner fan living in Seattle and every since that game, it never was the same being a niners fan from Seattle lol
He played lights out in the playoffs immediately following that game. And he had one of his best seasons after that. It's a myth that toots are too eager to spread
@@thekelvh Nobody’s denying that. Vernon got off that playoffs stretch and he balled out the following year with like 14 tds but still Vernon was never the same. He had alligator arms after that and fell completely off two years later when he went to Artist Vernon.
People put you and your family first no matter what... If he had went back out there and received a life changing injury they'd have another corner ready for the next snap...same goes for these jobs if you die they'll have someone in your position by lunch bc the show must go on
